Anyone watch the Championship play-off final? 18:57 - May 24 with 332 views | wessex_exile | Not the best game I've watched, but Sheffield United were in complete control with barely 15 minutes to go, and still managed to throw it away against the resurgent Black Cats. Sheffield's disallowed second goal seemed harsh on first viewing, but ultimately the right call. I was pleased for Sunderland, even if they'll likely only have the single season and then get relegated straight back down. A perfect 10 for Sheffield United though, ten play-off campaigns, ten failures. Edit: I should also add, three cracking goals too! [Post edited 24 May 19:02]

Yes we'll almost certainly be relegated next season but the financial boost means the future looks bright. We might not be able to buck the trend of promoted teams coming straight back down but it is good that today means only one of last season's relegated clubs has gone straight back up. Now for The U's to be at Wembley a year from now or better still automatic promotion. | | | |
