5/8 tall....12 and a half stone...
i'm sure this is too much weight for my height.
what does everyone on here who's overweight do to lose a few pounds.
just carry on/dont give a shit.
diet or more exercise..
probably my age, i'm not a big eater, and if a big occasion, like qpr or concert, i binge drink...

the old gut is hard to shift....

would be nice to get down to 11 and a half before the new season.

Well done!

The one thing I would say is don't beat yourself up if u fancy a beer on a Friday or Saturday night. I've just watched the game against Toulose with a couple of beers, but nothing during the week. They're my little reward.

Also, milk is important. I drink full fat as all the nutrition is in the fat, you need the calcium and vitamins. Soft drinks are loaded with sugar so good on you stopping them.

Keep going!

cheers wilkins....

i'm off for a few days down in bath from sunday, so will probably have a couple of beers...
still won't be drinking the soft drinks though...
then back for the friendly on saturday week, meeting up in the askew for a few beers.

i'll take the milk thing on board....cheers.

For me running got on top of the issue. I'm 6'3" and 15 years ago was up to 17 stones, I started going to parkrun which got me into running more seriously, within a couple of years I was running over 50 miles every week and weight dropped off until I maintained around 12 stones without even thinking about it.

These days, in my early 60s, for several reasons I need far more recovery time so I supplement running with the exercise bike and a bit weight training. I am diligent about my diet five days a week, broadly following some of the principles mentioned earlier in the thread (16-8, eating a big variety of plant-based stuff ZOE style) but allow myself some leeway on Fridays and Saturdays. I also gave up alcohol, all of this allows me to maintain in that 12 stone area.

If you are interested in trying parkrun there should be one close to you, 5k every Saturday at 9am, walkers are welcome if running isn't your thing.
