Not the best, but I still cheered like a maniac after the Lionesses rescued victory from the jaws of defeat. Pretty certain the U’s have been more abject in some of our own penalty shoot outs, but wtf - into the semifinals.

Just reminded myself, Cardiff two years ago in the Carabao Cup.

When archetypal Italian defensive cynicism turns around and bites you on the @rse. Magnificent result for the Lionesses, on to the final!
Gifted a penalty, saved (again) then tap in the rebound. A win,, but not convincing.
What has impressed me most is the no-nonsense standard of refereeing. No being fooled by those rolling about feigning injury. Yes, the Italians wasted time, but they have not yet mastered greater skulduggery.

Yep, a magnificent result, but performances haven't been particularly good in recent games. I fear the final is going to be another tough encounter, possibly too tough for supersubs Chloe Kelly and Michelle Agyemang to save us for a third time?

I did think it was ironic that if they hadn't wasted so much time in the second half there wouldn't have been the amount of stoppage time in which we scored. I absolutely detest time wasting and it was nice to see it come back to bite them.
Whilst we haven't been convincing and were clearly second best against France we dominated Wales and the Netherlands, were the clearly the better side against Italy and arguably the better side against Sweden. We've also beaten two sides ranked higher than us to get to the final. This team certainly knows how to get it done in a tournament and the manner in which you win is quickly forgotten about.
Well that was incredible, second best for most of the game, but we battled hard, were resilient in defence, and not helped by an atrocious referee - it's not just they she got decisions wrong, but she overwhelmingly got them wrong in favour of Spain. As I jokingly said to my sister during the game, she'll be driving home with a boot-full of tapas and paella tonight.
But when it came down to the wire, Lucy Hampton with two stunning saves and Chloe Kelly with her trademark 'pony prance' run-up saw England through as European champions (again).
Well done Lionesses, you did England proud!
Edit: Hahaha, I have been reminded it’s Hannah Hampton, not Lucy. You know who you are - thanks!
