Swans lose again in Pierce Sweeney testimonial. Inoussa & Cabango concerns on 21:50 - Jul 26 with 818 views | swansjack84 | Do I have concerns? YES! I'm I being over dramatic? Proberly! We have signed some good players, done business early and alot of positivity around the club. The issue is clear, depth. On paper when all are fit the starting 11 looks good. Issue is Sheehan has clearly quickly realised our youth players are not up to first team selection. With the injuries it's highlighted how in dire need we are for Defenders, Left Back, Striker etc. I'm not calling for Sheehan to go that would be madness, but I do think we are gonna have a bumpy start of the season and he is gonna have to show the resilience and togetherness to get through the start of the season. Would I be panicking now if I was the club. In truth yes. If its loan players or permanent we cannot go into the first game with Fulton in defense. I see us being stronger as players get used to the championship and fitness and injuries get less. But it's clear we are paying for the poor recruitment from the past that has left us short on all fronts. I'm not for one to point fingers but, sadly more pain is to come before we smell the roses again.

I agree with you but at least we can now say the ownership are trying to address all the problems caused by Kaplan and the others. I want to believe Sheehan is a capable manager but even so with the deficits of the squad clear to see it could take another 2 windows before the sqiad is good enough for a push at the top. I don't like making predictions until about 10 games in because then we have clear, substantive evidence but right now I think maybe mid table is the best we can hope for. Right now we need a decent striker, another centre back, possibly 2 if Cabango is out for a long time and we need them before Boro in 2 weeks. What we need and what we can afford may not match up though.

We played well in patches, could have won with a better ref and a bit of luck, i think it will be different next Saturday being at home for the time in the friendlies (Friday didnt count) The window hasn't finished yet, we will be getting 2/3 players in, remember we haven't had any loans in yet, the PL sides are also playing their friendlies, soon they will be deciding who to loan out and to who, I would believe that we will be in contact with several clubs re several players. Im slightly concerned but not worried.

I'm not even concerned yet, I'll keep that until a few real games are played and we've seen how they do.

That's a fair review. I do think though we need at least 4 or 5. But it's not gonna happen. I wouldn't be panicking as much if it wasn't for the injuries in defense. If we go in with Fulton on first game of season in defense then I think its time to worry.

I've just read Brum have 4 centre backs atm and may go for a 5th ! Ben Davies from Rangers.
