RamsTrust Team Up with hope Not Hate: Respect for the War Generation 09:51 - Nov 6 with 194 viewsRamsTrust

This year, Remembrance Sunday takes place on November 14th.

The Rams will be playing the Furry Foxes in Leicester next weekend, so we won't have an opportunity in Derby to commemorate the sacrifices made by the War Generation against Hitler's fascists with our fellow Rams fans at a Rendezvous.

By special arrangement with Hope Not Hate, RamsTrust will be distributing their tribute leaflet for the campaign today, at the start of Poppy Week, to show our respect for those who gave their lives in the fight for freedom, equality and tolerance that defeated the politics of hate and division.

Lest we forget: the Second World War cost the lives of over 20 million people, including six million Jews and others in concentration camps.

Over 380,000 Britons lost their lives and even more were injured. We won't forget them, and we also record our respect to the great people at home during the war that gave their effort, skills and committment at all times to support the war effort.

Today's fascists have insulted the generations of Britons who sacrificed so much - the BNP believe in racial superiority and a Jewish conspiracy. They reject Britain's decision to go to war with Nazi Germany - BNP leader Nick Griffin has even said that the Holocaust didn't happen.

They seek political power by using tactics of fear, hate and social division.

RamsTrust will show their solidarity with Hope Not Hate today before the Pompey game - pick up their campaign leaflet today from the RamsTrust Rendezvous. We're in the foyer of the DW Soccerdome from 1pm until 4.45pm.

Enjoy the game - and spare a respectful thought for the War Generation this week.
