 | Forum Reply | Jimmy Dunne new contract at 14:52 18 Jun 2025
Interesting to hear he mentioned about a core group of players being there to take a leadership role and be there for a while. ..................NARDI................. DUNNE....MORRISON....JCS..........LB ............FIELD.......VARANE......... RW..............MADSEN.........CHAIR ....................ST....................... That isnt a bad mid-table core we could have for a couple of years. Although JCS injuries are the main obvious concern. I love Frey but dont think he has the volume of games in his legs required for a true number 1 striker. Kellman has the obvious unknown about ability and contract so may not be here. Not sold on Dembele yet and Smyth is a backup if we want to be above the relegation fight. Chair needs a strong comeback too. |

One win in seventeen games at Strasbourg, sounds about right. It’s a real failure of the club that the Marti situation has got to this, he was the guy we needed IMO. |

Going to watch him play in the AFC Champions League 2 final today for Sharjah against the Lion City Sailors from Singapore. A last opportunity to watch the Moroccan magician in action perhaps. He is unfortunately on the bench to start with, but I’m hoping for a few nutmegs in the last 30 minutes. Keeping an eye out for Rs shirts too! |

We obviously dont know what has happened in the background, but I am hoping there is still a way back for him. Just needs a bit of maturity from both sides I think. He's only just signed a new contract so I anticipate the compensation will be quite steep for another club to take him and we shouldn't move an inch on that. We are certainly a better club with him at the tiller than without. If it is the choice of Marti or CN, I am with Marti all day. Please no more Ainsworth style football or interviews, not sure we can take it. |

Would be nice to see a bit more from Kolli, looks a bit lethargic so far. Saw Frey berating him for being slow to every ball |

Ronnie Edwards is class isnt he, so calm on the ball. A premier league player in waiting. |

Went to Sharjar a few years back to watch England in the cricket world cup. It is an experience for the senses for sure! You wouldnt think that it was just a short ride from the glitz and glam of Dubai. I think Adel will probably prefer the commute option haha. Worth a visit for anyone who likes exploring interesting grounds (cricket) though. |

I have supported the club for just under 20 years now and for the first time in my memory, I reluctantly admit to losing interest. There are fortunately or unfortunately things I would rather be doing to enjoy my weekends that cost a lot less money and stress . Even through the prem years and Ainsworth football (the worst ive seen), I still had the drive to be frustrated with the team and had optimism that it would be better soon. Cold Tuesday nights at the Loft or long away days weren't a hindrance, it was all part of supporting QPR. However, it just seems like failure after failure after failure and we never seem to learn. Andy Belk's continued employment despite seemingly not being very good is evidence of this alone. I dont know what the answer is, it feels like we have gone down every route possible. But we just want a bit of Warnock and Adel to cheer us all up haha. Hats off to those who have done it for 40+ years, its truly admirable. |

Without tempting fate, his fitness is incredible. Seems to play every game and 90 mins at that. My one gripe, he cant cross a ball! which feels pretty integral to a fullback, especially when Michy and Lyndon have been up front. |

Interesting to know where we will fit in. Could be: ............Nardi.............. Dunne.Cook. JCS. Paal ............Field............ ....Varane.......Madsen.... KD.........Frey........Chair Could play Field or Varane and then play Anderson but I think that would be quite open. Would rather Anderson started ahead of Madson for the time being. Koki off the bench. Surely set pieces should improve with that lot. Huge team other than the wingers and paal, who would take or stay deep anyway. [Post edited 24 Aug 2024 8:50]
