While the criticism on Playstation Tony was legitimate, honestly I find it quite baffling how many are severely against this current ownership group. They put in their 2 million a month and entrust their 'expert' employees to deliver. They have built the training ground and stayed committed. What do you want, a Marinakis/Briatore type who gets involved in the day to day running of the football, no? They go down the DOF and jobs for the boys route with Les and Chris Ramsey, they were patient, and it didnt work. Fans asked for something different... They said "be more like Brenford, Brighton et al. and be data focused" and now we are doing elements of that and we are already giving up. Its not going to be a sudden fix! I am not saying they are blameless, the CN appointment is somewhat of a gamble, and how Andy Belk still has a job is beyond me. but with all thats going on at Shef Wed., Reading etc. I think we need to be a little careful what we wish for. Those at the club need to take accountability for their own departments. We are far off the pace physically, that is Ben Williams and team's fault, not Ruben's sitting in Malaysia!! If you read any business leader book the key message is know your limitations and hire the best people you can to do a job. Its now time for the players and staff to pull their finger out! |

While I agree this is shit. By Steve Cooks own admission this week, the owners have given everything needed: new training ground, new players, new 'leading performance team', former arsenal coaches, ballon d'or heritage manager. Its now time for these players to stop being so bloody spineless. Changes at half time are a must to at least send some sort of message. |

Singapore Like: Safe, clean, low tax, and easy access to incredible surrounding countries. Dislike: £9 pints, 24/7 work culture, you spend your life sweating! |

I think after seeing Madsen and Field again yesterday, that clearly doesnt work. I hope the rumors of Tim Iroegbunam on loan are true. Someone fit and able to carry the ball forward is exactly what we are missing. Then an old head to cover Esquedinha would be wise, as Mbengue just couldnt do it yesterday unfortunately. |

....................Nardi Dunne...Mbengue....Morrison...Esquedinha ..............Varane.....Field................... Poku..............Chair..............Dembele ................... Kone..................... Subs: Walsh, Madsen, JCS, Vale, Burrell, Morgan, Cook, Smyth, Frey, If we are allowed to get carried away for a second....if that isnt a top 6 team, I dont know what is. Injuries and LB would be only main concern and a cover for midfield if we are being picky. |

Preston looked very average, I think they could be bang in trouble. We showed some bright sparks. Mbengue athleticism really jumps out, as does Burrell’s. it feels an age since we have had someone who can really make up ground, probably Bright Osayi Samuel, last. Esquerdinha looked good, if a little raw, which is to be expected. I thought Field looked a little leggy and clumsy today. If we can bring in a striker and keep Poku and Dembele fit, I think we could do ok. Nardi should be back in net from next week onwards, you don’t change a solid keeper. |

That defense could be very light tomorrow. Hope Nardi starts at least. |

This must be a case of getting bodies in. Doesnt look to have a particularly prolific record, was injured last season, and at 28 his best games are probably behind him. Sounds perfect...where do we sign. |
 | Forum Reply | What have learned ? at 03:13 3 Aug 2025
The goalkeeping change is the one I dont get. Absolutely nobody came away from last season saying one problem to address was Nardi. With all the changes to the team and management keeping a solid goalkeeper in net just made sense. He also seemed like a positive character which will probably be needed. I get the financial element of selling on Walsh but Nardi isnt even that old. Could have been a fixture in the team for a few more years. We desperately need a proven striker, so lets hope Eze deal goes through this week and we can get something done. Not feeling confident at all. |

Dont look very sharp do we. Annoying to watch Walsh wait an age before passing, gets them totally set defensively. |
 | Forum Reply | Jimmy Dunne new contract at 14:52 18 Jun 2025
Interesting to hear he mentioned about a core group of players being there to take a leadership role and be there for a while. ..................NARDI................. DUNNE....MORRISON....JCS..........LB ............FIELD.......VARANE......... RW..............MADSEN.........CHAIR ....................ST....................... That isnt a bad mid-table core we could have for a couple of years. Although JCS injuries are the main obvious concern. I love Frey but dont think he has the volume of games in his legs required for a true number 1 striker. Kellman has the obvious unknown about ability and contract so may not be here. Not sold on Dembele yet and Smyth is a backup if we want to be above the relegation fight. Chair needs a strong comeback too. |

One win in seventeen games at Strasbourg, sounds about right. It’s a real failure of the club that the Marti situation has got to this, he was the guy we needed IMO. |

Going to watch him play in the AFC Champions League 2 final today for Sharjah against the Lion City Sailors from Singapore. A last opportunity to watch the Moroccan magician in action perhaps. He is unfortunately on the bench to start with, but I’m hoping for a few nutmegs in the last 30 minutes. Keeping an eye out for Rs shirts too! |

We obviously dont know what has happened in the background, but I am hoping there is still a way back for him. Just needs a bit of maturity from both sides I think. He's only just signed a new contract so I anticipate the compensation will be quite steep for another club to take him and we shouldn't move an inch on that. We are certainly a better club with him at the tiller than without. If it is the choice of Marti or CN, I am with Marti all day. Please no more Ainsworth style football or interviews, not sure we can take it. |

Would be nice to see a bit more from Kolli, looks a bit lethargic so far. Saw Frey berating him for being slow to every ball |
