I'm gonna count to ten - chill out, keep calm - and wait until 7.01pm on Monday evening before passing judgement on any possible new arrivals. I'm thinking, on one hand, that a loan for a good striker from one of the top Premier League sides 'may' materialise. And perhaps, while they're at it, maybe we will pull a real rabbit out of the hat & buy (or loan) a solid, dependable centre half from some other top PL club! But then... I'll probably sigh as the clock ticks past 7.00pm on a miserable, rainy, wet Monday evening as I remember, suddenly, that Sport Republic own us now - owners that bought us Damion Downs - a striker that will finish the season collecting more yellow cards than goals - and any dreams I might have of us keeping a clean sheet in any league game we play this season will be just that - a dream. |

Couldn't agree more. Yes, today was another day without a win and yes, some will say it was Watford away & not a bad point. But the crux of the matter is the same old problems that have plagued us for longer than I care to remember just keep coming back to haunt us. In the very early Summer, we needed a top keeper, a top, solid, experienced, proven centre half, and a proven, top quality striker (at least at this level - a Josh Sargent for example who, incidentally, scored both of Norwich's goals today in their win). We have thus far failed on all three counts. It's all well and good buying a plethora of wide midfielders, on the left, on the right, defensive midfielders, attacking midfielders, creative midfielders, holding midfielders... yadda yadda. But here we are, yet again, failing to address the same old elephant in the room. It's groundhog day once again. With a little over 48-hours to go before the the transfer window closes, can someone, please, in the lofty heights of Sport Republic Towers, get the cheque book out & at least fill in a couple of the gaps above before all these midfielders they've purchased will count for nothing & we will, in all likelihood, be out of the running for promotion even before I'm pouring the bread sauce on my roast turkey Christmas dinner! |

Yeah, one point from the last six... or 2 from the last nine if you want - makes poor reading. Need to get up to speed and quickly really. Hopefully the new lads will improve us a lot but I do still worry about the defence & keeper. Something tells me that is where a season-long weakness 'could' be our undoing. |

Will Still not happy with the Watford manager & coaching staff at the final whistle. WTF is that all about? |

I'd have loved us to have nabbed Richard Kone instead of him going to QPR recently. I rate him highly and he certainly knows where the goal is! |

With only a couple of days left of the window - and with Josh Sargent reading the type of players we're (supposedly) signing within the last 24-hours - you'd have thought that a cheeky bid for him to leave Norwich is worth a punt & he might be swayed. Someone like him is definitely the missing link we urgently need. |

As you already know Ron, the only thing 'loyal' in football are the fans! |

Never mind a visa. I ship a few military bits to the US each month and now the Post Office have told me I can't ship for a few days - due to Trumps' tariffs being added. They don't know the exact amount of tax yet or limits. Sort it out Donald. |

Negative people really get on my tits. Southampton defender Welington is set to miss 'months' of the season due to an ankle injury. Saints boss Will Still is braced to be without the full-back for a significant period after he was withdrawn in the first half of their 2-1 Championship defeat to Stoke City. "Wely's not great, he'll be out for a couple of months," Still said. "His ankle's not great. "If there's an opportunity to [sign cover] I'm sure we will, but that goes for every position. "Our squad is big enough and good enough to sort things out." |

"Use the pain as fuel"? lol. WALOB That might work in the bedroom as he's slapping the lube on his twiglet with Lucy Pinder stepping out of the en-suite bathroom, but these are grown men we're talking about. They must wonder what garbage he's gonna spout next! |

It's bollux. Put all the teams into a bag and fu(king pick one out at a time & that's who you're playing. What a load of crap regarding teams playing Europe. Find a date that they're not - or let them field reserves/youngsters. |
