For me there is far less 'hate' in football than there was in the 70's and 80's.

I dunno mate, that close, in awe of and protective about a paedophile that prolific and he had no idea!? Can you imagine how thorough the secret service Royal Protection division are about absolutely anyone who gets near them, the in depth checking, snooping and looking for skeletons they would do on someone who gets to spend that much time behind closed Royal Doors. Saville's crimes were widely known in the entertainment industry, the idea that the future King Of England and a whole division of MI5 or whoever runs Royal protection didn't know feels impossibly naive to me. He was a constant, prolific, disgusting criminal who miraculously escaped any investigations, consequences, charges etc. That takes a bit of help.

There were plenty who knew about Saville back then. I was reading about him being a paedo with undue influence and connection to the Royals back in the early 90's.

But when the full weight of the establishment in all of its many forms is looking to block public awareness of any particular person, event, situation etc it is, and always has been, extremely efficient at curating mass opinion in the direction it desires.

Charles - Saville, Andrew - Epstein. Two brothers ending up best mates with two of the world's most notorious Paedophiles (and paedophile ring enablers). What are the odds? I blame the parents!

I wouldn't worry too much about the actions of a man who considered Jimmy Saville a mentor.

I mean, I'm not into the monarchy anyway, but the idea that people consider this man their 'King' is quite mind blowing to me.

What do you actually mean by that? It's a bit confusing.

As in what does the club actually do to appeal to 20 year old Tik Tok'ers that is the opposite of what we 'legacy fans' have asked for? Genuine question.

One of the themes from this thread has been about a lack of communication with fans. I'm no expert but my understanding is that to engage 20 year old Tik Tok'ers you have to feed their need for constant 'content'.

Has the club been doing that? And why would older fans be against it?!

Quick glance at his wiki page would suggest his teams blow hot and cold and he's due a hot next!

Now I really hope you are a paid lackey or somesuch because if these posts are actually you being the human being you actually are then....man. If you are being paid, like Charlieb before you, your training/education seems to have missed out the vital module of building rapport, respect or just appearing decent and reasonable.

Arrogant, selective, self pitying and now deluded thinking that you are the self appointed arbiter of truth, reasonableness and rationality on this forum.

Just like Charlieb before you have completely ignored my posts about your objectively observable arrogance and gaslighting. Convenient that.

Whether you are real or not is immaterial now.

Mission Failed.

Next.

"Would be nice if more people were able to form there own opinions and apply critical thinking"

Critical thinking, hahahaha. You came on here and within a couple of posts accused posters en masse of being conspiracy theorists for believing something THAT IS CLEARLY TRUE! You couldn't get further from intelligent and reasonable critical thinking and debate if you tried.

But then have the hilarious levels of front to pronounce -
"Find this whole exchange and some of the comments towards me pretty illuminating about society as a whole."
I mean mate, you're new on here, you pile in two feet first attempting to discredit through gaslighting ( a big pet peeve of mine, you may have noticed) and then start the wailing and gnashing of teeth about the state of society.

Very poor.

I've got absolutely no issue with the genuine posters supporting Nourry like Ned Kennedy, Wilkinswatercarrier etc, they make plenty of good points, creating good discussions. It's what this message board is all about even if we do all get a bit fruity with each other sometimes. But some new posters just stand out in a bad way and we all see it. Even if you are a genuine fan, and it appears many an old and respected head on here doesn't think you are, your style of 'debate' has the opposite affect than that which you are hoping for.

I think Nourry will ultimately be judged on what happens on the pitch, not by winning 'hearts and minds' on a message board, but with all the arrogance you're not helping.

Agreed.

Beans, you've come on here arrogantly gaslighting hordes of posters who have been on here for years within a few posts then start demanding replies to very specific points trying to control the narrative. Your lengthy detail on the importance of the specific release date of information in order to maximise revenue is quite the subject to finally inspire an ordinary fan to post on a message board after all these decades!

Do you have the decency to apologise for calling people conspiracy theorists when it is clearly something that has happened? Why so keen to pretend it hasn't and isnt happening? When you steam in trying to belittle so many fellow fans with something so inaccurate as that don't expect your opinions or views to be respected. Backs will be up and suspicions rightly raised.

As I stated in my first reply to you (conveniently ignored by you just like a certain Charlieb I note) I am not as anti Nourry as some but to be honest new posters like you and particularly your arrogant, dismissive attitude are turning me more against him. I won't be alone in that.

Alex Jones and conspiracy theories!

Mate as a long term fan you will know that the very thing you are mis-labelling as conspiracy theory happened before in the Paladini era. Lots of people had personal experience of it, including Clive himself.

It is also crystal clear that it is happening again now. Unfortunately your arrival and style of post put you in the crosshairs. I hope you have the intelligence, humility and good humour to understand why. To respond by then throwing out the 'conspiracy theory' attack is a bad look. There's a good reason why a lot of people are a bit wary and to just blindly accuse them of being Alex Jones affected conspiracy theorists is unpleasant gaslighting.

The two points you mention for 'debate' are, as Clive has pointed out, a bit odd. Pretty much all of us would be thrilled with a season of JCS and Morrison and similarly I think everyone is excited to see how Kelman gets on.

I say all this as someone who is already looking towards the new season, accepting that Marti has gone( and not particularly happy that he was looking to go after just 6 months) and accepting that Nourry has done some good (recruitment bar the big buys last summer) and some bad (communication methods, mates rates for Ben Williams, handling of Marti situation) things so far. It's too early to judge whether he will be a success or not and if we get the new manager right and can have another Summer getting in the likes of Nardi, Morrison, Varane and Dembele then I'd say things would be looking up. Big If.

There are clearly a few posters that have got a little locked in to personal battles, but that can happen in these situations. We all want what's best for the R's. Let's (all real fans) stick together.

Very true.

Add to that the war of words and general poison that will have been spread, by both sides, in the Nourry v Cifuentes battle. We get to see the odd leaked story or Charlieb post (not that he's connected to the club), so you can imagine the whispers each side is spreading about the other behind the scenes in the game to contacts, agents, clubs, players etc. Could have some affect on how attractive the club/Marty are to potential new relationships.

All a bit of a shame. I'm looking forward to all sides moving on.

Remarkable prescience from our mate CharlieB, predicting that the club were sorting this out despite having nothing whatsoever to do with the club. Do you do lottery numbers?

Christian, if you're rectifying a mistake you made and you want us to know you are rectifying it, just tell us, you know, straight up, we can handle it. Absolutely no need to pay/send pretend people to let us know, that just worsens your relationship with supporters on here.

Artlessly following the Page 1 suggestions on the Modern Digital Influencing and Manipulation of Opinion module you recently completed is not the way to get the supporters on your side. Being straight up really works. Try it.

That aside, glad he's back in the building, looking forward to a healthier season. Onwards!
