Are We Going Toulouse? Match Thread
at 19:01 18 Jul 2025

Yeah, agreed. Nice to see him and Tuck wanting the ball in the middle, being comfortable being pressed and always looking to move it forwards. Some nice play between them. Vital if we want to be successful playing out from the back.

Kelman looks strong. Poku could do very well. Young defenders promising but not ready just yet I'd say. Illias looking pumped and ready.

I think we can safely say that, after last year's injury issues, Chair's defensive work rate and pressing will be back to its relentless best.

Yeah, their scorer was giving someone the 'shhh' finger to the lips. Couldn't see who but a few of ours weren't impressed.

Cracking captain's challenge. Toulouse had started to take the p1ss a bit with some of their challenges, especially on Dembele and kicking the ball at a prone Smyth.

Jimmy's having none of that.

Marti to Leicester…maybe
at 17:28 17 Jul 2025

As we well know football clubs can't suddenly "dump employees as soon as they are no longer convenient to them". Mores the pity in some cases.

I get people want to support Marti but does that mean what Beale did was fine? A lot of mental gymnastics/cognitive dissonance going on to try and support Marti looking to leave after 6 months whilst Beale is universally loathed for successfully doing so. At least he had us top of the league.

Maybe Marti felt he had to go because of Nourry, maybe not, but I can't believe so many of us expect and are ready to accept every manager we get actively looking to Beale Out on us after 6 months.

So now we're all happy with what Beale did because 'that's football'?

Not me.

Haha, hilarious attempt to cover your mistake just makes it worse!

Bawhoops' post didn't even mention Marti or Leicester and your 'reply' was solely on that subject. You've been caught out again.

You are sooooo bad at this. I'm sensing some gardening leave is just around the corner.

Taylor Richards finally going?
at 23:10 7 Jul 2025

Mental Health is obviously a very broad term.

But I will say that you would expect the club to have a fairly decent, professional led view of his mental health over the last 3 years. Their knowing he was particularly fragile (so much so that he couldn't face playing football) but then deciding to send him to Cambridge to play football in a new, unfamiliar, likely to be unsupportive environment would be incredibly negligent, plain wrong in fact in these modern times of greatly increased awareness and understanding of mental health issues.

To then quite literally refuse to take him back knowing he was so fragile that he couldn't contribute to Cambridge at all would indicate the club are extremely cruel OR didn't think Richards was especially vulnerable. Marti never seemed too impressed.

It is most definitely not how a person considered a suicide risk would be treated.

Bazza your posting pictures of Robin Williams are a very poor show and utterly incomparable.

I think we all agree none of us know the true details. I genuinely wish him well in life and hope if there is unresolved trauma still dominating his life he finds a way to heal. As a QPR fan I think it's time to move on.

Mate, although it may be hard to tell from some of my posts, I'm all about the love, peace, forgiveness and healing!

In quick summary if someone has been suffering such trauma as not being able to carry out their job for three years (Am I right in remembering Clive mentioning partying insta posts etc? If so we'll ignore that for now!) then it would have taken some deep therapeutic work to ready them to start doing so now. Especially the high pressure world of football. Maybe, unbeknownst to us, that has occurred and a very different Taylor Richards has returned to the squad taking responsibility and a genuine desire to show he has grown/learnt/healed/moved on etc. Then marvellous. I'm all for it, I just have severe doubts that is the case.

Fair play Nix, good point.

Although the irony of Richards getting litigious against us for NOT letting him play football would be absolutely delicious!

'Not being disruptive' !! Good one.

His very presence is disruptive. What do you think the team leaders like Cook think of him and his being in the dressing room? What do you think having a player whose commitment has been zero for
3 years, showing he couldn't give a fk about QPR, Cambridge or whoever whilst milking an excellent living off them suddenly be around the place? Think of that no budget year when Ainsworth started the season in charge, Richards was eating up a nice pay packet and wasn't remotely interested in helping out.

I thought we of all clubs, after the Fernandes years, have learnt the vital nature of having the right sort.

Have you lot not listened to the likes of Joel Lynch on his time here. Forgotten Laird and Tyler Roberts already? Losing the image/reputation for being known as a club where you can come and take the p*ss is really important for us. I mean this fella makes Boswinga look like f*ckin Clint Hill.

We're trying to build a team, a squad and a future plan. A football player who refuses to play football for 3 years shouldn't be anywhere near that. And he certainly shouldn't be taking minutes, even pre season, away from an Alfie Tuck etc etc.

'He says he really has changed this time mum.'

I'm trying to keep a lid on it but I'm excited already!

New manager, good looking signings. JCS (I know, I know), Kelman and Vale like new signings.

I can already feel that first day of the season's heady mixture of sunshine and hope. Can't wait.

Haha, I'm hardly going to question Clive's bit of artistic license when he has made it quite clear that he KNOWS from previous experience that there are some dodgy posters on here now whose sole purpose is to shape opinion on Nourry! But you know that already. Can't blame you for trying to score points though!

Aiming your last paragraph at me is all a bit Strawman.
Because (a) As I have made it clear I don't hold a particularly anti Nourry position - I think he's one decent/good season away from being lauded as having done a decent/good job, there is clearly joined up thinking in the recruitment/development side and if he faced a manager looking to move after 6 months then he rightly had to protect QPR's interests (whether he was partly the cause of Marti's desire to leave is another matter and something I can't know). And I'm pleased he didn't just settle for an obvious experienced name.
There are clearly some communication issues (which as I've said are not too troubling for me, yet anyway), although stopping the manager from having a chat with Clive can, ironically, come across as a bit paranoid! He's young and hopefully humble enough to have a learning curve.

And (b) I also made it quite clear that I have no issue with all the posters supporting Nourry, I am not remotely claiming they are all sent by him. That would be ridiculous and conspiracy territory.
So no I don't think that's 'reasonable'. Please don't place that on me.

As for Twitter, you won't catch me on there in a million years. If there are 100's of Nourry fans on there good luck to them, genuinely.

I don't care about Twitter but I do care about this message board. Again, if you can't separate Charlieb from genuine posters who like Nourry that's on you. No paranoia here. No need for strawman gaslighting, no need to be so disparaging and dismissive.
