Bright Osayi Samuel available now on free transfer
at 12:53 4 Jul 2025

I appreciate it should be taken with a massive pinch of salt as these things are never public, but one of the click-baity sites says he was on circa £50k-per-week in Turkey.

Birmingham paying anywhere near that will see them in bother sooner or later.

Catastrophe, ou formidable? Stéphan steps into Loftus Road hot seat - Column

Oh, right. I didn't know that. I was under the impression he was a Les/Belk/Other appointment, given we supposedly tried to hire him before Beale.

Love these deep dives, always a good read.

Intrigued is definitely the word for this appointment.

I'm still lukewarm on Nourry, but it's clear that he has a vision and plan for how the club should be structured and operate, and a coach like this is an important cog in that.

I don't think the whole 'project' lives and dies by Stephan's success, but if it clicks, we could have a fun ride. I respect the approach we're taking to this.

I still think Marti was the right guy, but given the structure and direction of travel, would he have even been on the considered list of candidates under this regime if we had never hired him to begin with?

25/26. New kits
at 14:18 9 Jun 2025

I think Errea have done a decent job. Some really nice shirts during their time that will get better with age.

If we switched manufacturers, I wouldn't mind someone like Hummel - they've created a lot of nice kits for their stable of clubs.

The QPR summer transfer rumours thread
at 13:03 6 Jun 2025

I was wondering the other day whether this was a possibility. He's only got a year left at Chelsea, has the same agent has Harvey Vale, and crucially plays in a position where we desperately need a solution.

Varane being sold?
at 14:32 2 Jun 2025

This is the model in action, which is exactly what we want.

Fee feels too low for the potential the player has, but selling at the right time (something we rarely do) and reinvesting is the only way we realistically move up in this world.

I do wonder what the number is that we'd entertain for him - especially given Espanyol are supposedly getting a wedge for their goalkeeper.

End of Term Report 24/25 – Goalkeepers
at 13:48 19 May 2025

I like Nardi and agree that he's had a solid debut season. A big improvement on Begovic and I feel confident with him between the sticks.

On the Walsh point, I wonder what stopped the club giving him the starting spot this season and electing to bring Nardi in.

From the limited games of his I've seen, I quite like Walsh and would earmark him as a starter in waiting. But if the coaching staff don't see it by now, will they ever?

Yeah, I recall Ainsworth being caretaker, while still a member of the playing staff, for a vile 0-0 with Reading.

Ronnie was absolute class last night - my MOTM hands down.

I really liked his driving runs forward, but I couldn't help thinking that was more out of a necessity to break the lines as Chair wasn't coming deep (where Varane/Field would usually occupy that space).

Vale lifted on QPR’s risky recruit – Signing

I mean this in the nicest way possible, but he sounds little like Marc Pugh and how we deployed him in 19/20.

But rather than being run on diesel, he's like a hybrid or EV.

I liked Pugh for what it's worth.

For a bloke so keen to control the message and information that gets out, it's hilarious (and worrying) that this appears on one of the sites connected with Nourry.

I wonder how long it will be until our benevolent, yet foolish, owners wise up to this charlatan.

Varane’s red sets Rangers on road to Rovers ruin – Report
at 13:44 30 Sep 2024

As mentioned in the final par, is this the style of football Marti really wants?

Or are our players collectively just not quite good enough to play his way?

We know he's a pragmatist, so I wouldn't be surprised to see a return to the more Championship-friendly style in the not-too-distant future.

The only difference is we did have Hayden that allowed that sort of approach to work, and Varane isn't that type of player.

Two weeks before a game against Wawllll/Luton/Leeds, when oppo fans appear on the forum asking how to buy tickets.

Usually something like: 'I'm over from [insert random country] with 6 of my family members. We're big QPR fans and hope to get tickets in the home end. How do we buy them?'

It's like clockwork.

Plymouth see red; QPR suffer déjà vu – Report
at 10:35 26 Aug 2024

Marti's comments about the team playing too emotionally was spot on - it definitely added to the harum scarum of the flurry of second half attacks.

One thing that stood out a little was that when Frey and Celar were up top as a pair, they didn't try and play together or help each other out. There were a couple of moments where an attempt to nod it down to the other or try and find your strike partner could have been a better option, but they were acting as though they were playing alone.

Eze release clause
at 13:26 19 Aug 2024

I'd be surprised if Eze leaves now, especially this late in the window.

I wouldn't say the lack of interest in him is because the price is too high, but perhaps as much to do with the structure of offer.

I think I'm correct in saying that many of these release clauses have to be paid in one go, which is proving more and more difficult in the age of PSR.

By letting it lapse, interested clubs can offer more structured deals that may cost them more in the long run, but can help them stay within the regs.
