We seem to be focusing on getting our passing percentage stats up. A healthy 86% but probably time to have a bit more of a go at them. |

Pardon my language on this, but the season after we finished 5th I'd have liked us to have got David Batty, before he went to Blackburn. Was probably never going to happen but thought he could've added a lot. I apologise - I was young and impressionable. Another one, later on, was Ben Watson - we tried for him a couple of times I think but ended up getting him later in his career on a damp squib loan as I remember it. The hadn't list is probably too long! |

I don't want us to lose any matches, but I am very ambivalent about going up, so I know what you mean. Agree with the comments about going up and banking the money, but getting tonked every week by a load of arsehole clubs just isn't that much fun. Hopefully things would be different, and I would love to see how Marti would do at that level, might suit his style very well. So fair enough, I'll say yes - I'd just about like to go up, because I want us to win every game and have a team to be proud of, and it's not realistic or sensible to expect to win the playoff final and tell the Prem to fcuk right off. |

Great news - it's a bit less enjoyable seeing a player begin to really click when they're on the brink of leaving. Glad that's sorted. And maybe a bit of a public olive branch from Nourry with the 'significant recent credit ' to Marti and Xavi? |

I haven't lived in Brooklyn since July 2016, but Stuck-In-Chiswick-Ranger doesn't have the same ring to it, and it's all about brand awareness these days as I told the former DistortR a few months ago. |

That's a great article - quite moving to read it for the first time today. I met him in 1996/7 - I don't think it gives anything away at this point to say I was a junior staff member admitting him to a clinic. Only had a few brief interactions with him, but in all of them he was a lovely bloke, very quiet and unassuming, especially considering his fame at the time. Really sorry to hear of the pain he went through in later years. RIP Tony. |

I missed 2 or three games over Xmas, which might affect how I view Saito. I fully accept he's been lightweight of late, but a couple of months ago he was one of the only good things about our team, for at least a handful of matches. He even gave a very good account of himself when forced to flll in at LB. He is literally lightweight, but I thought he'd been beginning to work at putting himself about much better, with varying success. He is going to have dips in form, and no surprise he struggled against a PL team, but I still think he can have a fair bit to offer us once he gets enough games under his belt. |

Without getting into whether he's been generally good enough for us, he was struggling today and should have been hooked at half time. Santos was hooked and he's our player - there was no logic in keeping Ashby out there. Maybe Colback could have played RB if he'd wanted to continue to rest Jimmy. At the end of the first half he miscontrolled an easy ball on the touchline and threw his head back. It wasn't working for him today, he'd been targetted as a weak point but we were still in the game at the start of the second half. That's Marti's mistake I feel (and I love Marti). On the question of whether or not he cares - he does have that bit of bravado about him - apparently said "never a penalty" after that volleyball spike in his own area. Annoying to see but he may have had his head in his hands in the changing room, we just don't know. |

Problem is, iirc, we've payed decent money for him. So we loan him to someone and get them to work wonders on him - absolutely no idea who. Or we sell him, again to whom, no idea. Quite possibly at a loss. Or we endure these teeth grinding performances until he improves. He showed the odd sign a month or so ago, I thought - got a yellow card at one point! But that all seems to have evaporated. |
