Scored a lovely freekick for Hampton and Richmond at the weekend. Always thought there's a good player there and should have a higher up loan, L2 maybe.

So you don't have to sacrifice anything in a 4-2-3-1. It just means 1 of the middle 2 will sit and protect the defence while the other goes and supports attacks, as well as running back. They have to be extremely fit to get up and down the pitch with lots of high intensity running in both halves of the pitch AND can pass a ball.
The more of the defensive player in the midfield 2 will also cover a fullbacks position when they get up the wing to support attacks. If you want to call it a position. The 2 are split into 1 CDM and 1 CM.
Someone like Dominik Szoboszlai at Liverpool is a good example (although he is covered RB at the moment...)
Of our central Midfielders Sam Field and Jon Varane are both the "deep lying" types. Hence why people say they can't play together. Hayden is also more of the holding model but can defo pass better than the other 2, so could work well.
If Madsen could get more physical and tackle more (did better on Saturday) he would be a great fit. Morgan needs to bulk a little and continue developing his passing but has the right profile to fit the position.

Apologies if that went a bit ChatGP Nourry.

The Dunne one is especially worrying. Time to get the chequebook out Mr Nourry. Need at least 1 FB, a CM and a Striker. Possibly even a CB - don't mind loans or perm.

We will try, still going for top spot in the table. Down to our 5th/6th choice keeper and the internationals have gone back now. Specifically the spinners.

Been going to Surrey for over a decade now and he is the best player coming through the academy for sure. Best I've seen for a while, just makes it look so easy, can play all the shots and change his tempo accordingly - usually being on the attacking side. Fantastic future ahead of him. Go on, make it a biggun'

Sky games

Seconded. Had the "pleasure" of going to Wrexham for work recently. There's plenty of pubs in town - away from the station. Some nice, some bad, less than a fiver a pint - depends on your type of place. I went to Hill St. Social - Dart boards, sky sports but small.
Wrexham Central for the town.
Wrexham General for the stadium - The Turf, by the stadium, featured on THAT show will be heaving with home fans only I assume. £4.50 for a staropramen though....
Chester is lovely with loads of food and drinks options.

With all the Varane rumours, if we were to sell, how much realistically should we accept? £7m with a 20% sell on? more?

Watched the end of it, thought Helm was superb - beautiful slower ball.
Looking forward to tonight at the best cricket ground in London - sold out, lovely stuff.
Think it will be a good game, Surrey have been brilliant in their last 2, in all 3 facets but they have been losing the toss, put in and setting targets. A chase might make it a different story, expecting high scores too.
Watching the test atm against India, England bowling attack looks very weak.

Somerset look very well balanced as usual. Banton will be with the England T20 squad too.
As a Surrey fan, we look very light in the batting department without J Smith, Jacks (England) and Dan Lawrence (Injured). Two poor performances with the bat (except Jason Roy) but some brilliant bowling by Sam Curran got the win over Glamorgan.

Hoping the rain stays away tonight at the oval, although I think Hampshire will have too much with the bat.

Worst sports decisions

Surely got to be the ghost goal - Reading v Watford - A classic Stuart Atwell moment.

But no idea what Surrey were thinking. Surely rack up the runs, tire the oppo then see what happens? Easier to get bonus points too. A day of blocking out to come. Fun. Is exposing a lack of quality spinner though with these teams all preparing roads.

Bennie 6/10 - Signed for the DS, has played multiple positions when asked and puts in a shift. L1 or L2 loan will make him a much better player.
Morrison 7.5/10 - Would be higher but needs to stay fit. Fantastic when he does start.
Santos 3/10 - Not for the championship I'm afraid. Will do fine in Portugal.
Nardi 8/10 - Was player of the season earlier in the campaign, does need to command his box better.
Celar 4.5/10 - There is a player there, we were trying to use him in the Frey role, which he isn't. He goals at Cardiff showed he is a finisher. Play to his strengths and he will get goals.
Varane 7/10 - Quality as a starter, disaster off the bench. In the old school "enforcer" role which is still a thing in the Championship.
Dembele 5.5/10 - Needs a proper run of starts. Big offseason for him, defo the makings of a quality player there, especially with better players around him. Chair and Dembele have only started ONCE together this season.
Saito 8/10 - Love the guy, would love him back, exactly the type of player we should be after.
Madsen 4/10 - Slightly rose tinted end of season spectacles with the assists and dead ball delivery. Needs to know his actual role and position better. Learn to tackle and beef up for a full championship season.
Ashby 3/10 - Not for me. Although seemingly better at LB than RB he isn't a championship defender. Feel he would do well in Spain with more time on the ball.

Low block from the off. Best hope is to hold out for a 0-0. Oxford with all the ball, no attacking intent. Might chuck Kolli on with 20 to go at some attempt to win.
Can't wait.

Just bowl us cheaply with Cook and Porter, then it's game on!

Looking forward to it, I've got a membership so early season games are good as they fall over weekends but it's harder later in the year when it goes to more midweek. The Youtube streams for free have been brilliant!

Bump.
County Championship starts tomorrow to give some relief from the dirge of championship football and another relegation scrap.

Can anyone stop the mighty Surrey from 4-in-a-row? Personally I'm hoping not but can see some drop off with the continued lack of out and out spin option and inevitable call ups for England. Tough start tomorrow away at Essex. Do I see summer around the corner?

Games left- So simple

Lose all the away games - that's what we do. Especially now.
Beat Cardiff/Swansea at home. Draw against the other.
Lose to Bristol City and Burnley at home.
4 points.

Sunderland might as well rest players now as they basically can't finish anywhere other than 4th. Probably have a stronger team towards the end of the season to prepare for the playoffs so they aren't rusty. Loading etc.

Yeah was on at 12.50 and wasn't an option to select them, then appeared as "choose another event" couldn't get through on the B.O, was on hold for 15 mins.
Oh well, next season.
