Convo (not so) young (anymore) Crowe and I had. If Terry was announced as manager would you go? It was a No. I honestly don't think i could bring myself to do it, even if he got us into winning ways.
It wouldn't happen of course. Would it? Please say it wouldn't.
Which has reminded me of one my most cringe moments. Jimmy Page and his gf were on the same flight as me back from San Fran about 7 years ago. He wasn't sat near me but he was stood near me at the luggage carousel at LHR. I debated whether to go up to him not in a conflicted way for about 10 mins. And i went up to him and said 'Jimmy, sorry to bother you, i just wanted to say Thank you for the music'. I've hated myself ever since, what an utter cvuntish thing to say. He of course was true gent and shook my hand and said thank you very much.
Sinead O'Conner was sat next to me on a flight to Lisbon. (her band were up in Business but she wanted to smoke in Economy).
Best one was on a London to Sydney flight on New years day 2011. The plane stopped for an hour or so in Singapore for refuel and passenger changing. As i walked off the plane, a voice behind me said 'Hey buddy - can you smoke in this goddamn airport (having spotted my fags in my hand). So i spent an hour chatting away in Singapore airport smoking room with the Hoff. He was massively hungover as was I (new years day) and had been doing panto at Wimbledon theatre. All rather surreal.
This. I forgot i was on the direct debit auto scheme and then just as i was thinking 'shall I renew or not', it made the decision for me (that in my heart of hearts i would've done anyway).
Willock Mk1 under the <ahem> Beale era and the lockdown games was something to behold. Everything after and particularly his attitude was mostly depressing. When he left my head said 'thank god' but my heart was a bit sad. Such a waste.
