No coincidence that they have Steve Gallen as Director of Football, to say we missed a trick, some very shrewd transfer deals over the last couple of seasons.

Bingo we need 11 players starting who are theoretically fully fit and prepared to run their socks off or alternatively themselves into the ground.

We all want handsome Ronnie back his family support the Rs it's in his blood, my worry at the moment is Chair is missing in action, could he be part of a deal, first time I've wanted an injury to be genuine.

Not sure if you've watched the interview he said he had offers but there was only one Championship team he was going to sign for and that he found it difficult playing against us for Portsmouth last year, something that the Portsmouth fans have picked up on and are a little bit miffed.....

Have you watched his interview on the Offish, it's actually quite inspiring, he said he had other offers but there was only one team he wanted to play for in the Championship.

Think we have to thank Steve Cook for getting in his ear on holiday it's the small things that can make a difference, I loved his comment about how he found it difficult to play for Portsmouth against us last year, that's the attitude we need.

Hoping we don't lose him but Leicester look as if they will sell El Khannouss before the transfer deadline to either Palace or Spurs for £30 million plus that may give them a budget.

Coventry City 7 Queens Park Rangers 1 – Report
at 09:45 25 Aug 2025

An excellent report by Jamie if you hadn't told us who was the writer it could of been you writing, really pleased he didn't hold back with the criticism its all justified we can see what's going on behind the scenes.

Now we are really starting to see what Stephan is up against, we will never know if he's any good as a Manager because he's just a Head Coach as part of the project, here's the guidelines you follow these and stay within your remit we've got other Coaches and the Director of Football who will dictate the style of play for you to follow.

Ive been supporting since 1966 seen so many highs and lows and for a number of reasons I'm emotionally tied to the club, we all take the results to heart and it makes or breaks our weekends, the anger gets to us all because we care about the club, when eventually Nourry leaves we will still be supporting, that's if I live long enough....(lol)

Clive take care you do a fantastic job and your health comes before anything else, particularly at a weekend when we got the news about Andy Sinton...

As others have said this puts everything into perspective, a true Rangers legend who represents the club with style in such a professional manner.

Wishing you a speedy recovery, take your time before coming back you don't need the stress get well soon....

That's ok your absolutely correct it just doesnt make sense to offer Frey another contract, he's injury prone aged 31 and we will be lucky to get him available for 20 games if his track record is anything to go by, plus as Clive has pointed out he's only good for about 60 minutes.

We do need some Senior players to go with all the youth but let's try and be a bit more selective, that contract offer doesn't sound like a CN strategy.

Sam Field
at 09:07 20 Aug 2025

Exactly the snidey remarks are a pain in the a**e, Field has been an incredibly important player for us in ensuring we are not playing in League one, some may not be bothered but financially it would have been a disaster.

Field first and foremost is a defensive midfielder, thats exactly the player we bought and he's done his job very well, just remember he played a considerable amount of games alongside Dozzell who went missing in action and Sam was doing the job of two people.

As somebody else posted he needs to be playing alongside a more creative progressive player, it's not his fault Managers are pushing him further forward, it's for the so called Head Coach to sort out.

Basically he was hung out to dry again asking him to play in a 2 alongside Madsen, he will look considerably better alongside Varane.

True but he got up and walked off which is a positive, hopefully it's weeks and not months.

Who was this disaster down to tonight....

Top post there's your explanation it's Nourry's project, get with the project or your out the door, we don't have a Manager we have a Head Coach taking instructions which was very likely explained to him at his job interview.

This could all be a master plan that bears fruit in the long term but it's a big gamble and last nights loss could possibly have been prevented with a few Senior players on the bench, I genuinely feel for the near 1000 who made the trip and await Clive's thoughts with interest on the decisions.

I don't believe for one minute that a new Manager in his second game for the club wanting to impress and get a win against a League one team says I know what I will pick the development squad for this game and leave all the first team back at Heston.

That just doesn't make sense, the decision was made higher up for whatever reason, they should have at least had 5 or 6 of the first team on the bench that could have got us the win.

Well I dont believe Stephan made the decision to field a complete development team for our first round cup game, that obviously came from our Director of Football.

Anybody know what's happening with Alfie Tuck, he was one of our star players in the Cup Final over Brentford and now can't even get on the pitch.

Kolli needs regular football and a loan out
at 09:56 12 Aug 2025

Get both sides of the argument but if the Kone deal actually happens and there's also rumours of Ba as well then we can afford to let Kolli go on loan because he needs to play regular games. Maybe a deal up until the end of December, an option is to let him go to Wycombe on loan as part of the Kone deal.

Maybe if the deal is really happening then that would be a good move for both clubs to let Kolli go on loan to Wycombe, probably won't happen but Kolli has to see that a loan has benefited the likes of Eze and Chair, surely he wants to play football.

That said I'm not taking into allowance our injury track record, with our luck and track record we will probably need Kolli within a few weeks even if the transfer actually happens.

I'm hoping that he's only got one more year because it's a joke that your best option as a target/hold up player from a weak selection is always on the treatment table and even if he starts struggles to complete the 90

Sadly I think your probably right and that's Nourry's plan, trouble is chuck too many DS kids into competitive Championship matches at the same time and we will get rolled over by the more physical aggressive teams, then there's the Contenders who will just have too much quality in there squad.

Last season Marti got the balance right only blooding players when they appeared ready or sadly injuries gave him no option. It's a tough gig as a Head Coach being told these are the players you have to work with and this is the clubs strategy get in line or move on.

I'm personally hoping we can still get 2/3 more experienced players in to balance out the squad, it doesn't have to cost a fortune if you do the right deals at the right time,

Hopefully JS will have a few players back from injury soon which will be a massive help because we have one of the weakest striking options in the division and that's when they are fit.

Excellent article which gives you a real sense of the true heart and soul of the club as it established itself in the community and the highs and lows of success and failure, it's because we struggle to achieve success that there is so much euphoria when it's achieved.
Reaching the other Wembley finals was a success, very close to beating the Spurs but it's far easier to forget the Milk Cup debacle.

The Fernandes tenure was a disaster, the man had good intentions but went about it like a bull in a China shop and never once thought about the Financial implications, he may have officially left in 2023 but Ruben took over long before that which managed to stabilise us financially.

What have learned ?
at 07:45 4 Aug 2025

That it won't be all the Head Coach's fault if we start off badly, he can only work with the players he has been given and the fitness issues are a big worry.

Have we learnt any of the lessons from last season, in spite of the fact some on here keep saying it's a rubbish division, it's not there's a lot of quality and we need a team that is robust and will stand up to the physicality.
