True but he got up and walked off which is a positive, hopefully it's weeks and not months.

Who was this disaster down to tonight....
at 09:04 13 Aug 2025

Top post there's your explanation it's Nourry's project, get with the project or your out the door, we don't have a Manager we have a Head Coach taking instructions which was very likely explained to him at his job interview.

This could all be a master plan that bears fruit in the long term but it's a big gamble and last nights loss could possibly have been prevented with a few Senior players on the bench, I genuinely feel for the near 1000 who made the trip and await Clive's thoughts with interest on the decisions.

I don't believe for one minute that a new Manager in his second game for the club wanting to impress and get a win against a League one team says I know what I will pick the development squad for this game and leave all the first team back at Heston.

That just doesn't make sense, the decision was made higher up for whatever reason, they should have at least had 5 or 6 of the first team on the bench that could have got us the win.

Well I dont believe Stephan made the decision to field a complete development team for our first round cup game, that obviously came from our Director of Football.

Anybody know what's happening with Alfie Tuck, he was one of our star players in the Cup Final over Brentford and now can't even get on the pitch.

Kolli needs regular football and a loan out
at 09:56 12 Aug 2025

Get both sides of the argument but if the Kone deal actually happens and there's also rumours of Ba as well then we can afford to let Kolli go on loan because he needs to play regular games. Maybe a deal up until the end of December, an option is to let him go to Wycombe on loan as part of the Kone deal.

Maybe if the deal is really happening then that would be a good move for both clubs to let Kolli go on loan to Wycombe, probably won't happen but Kolli has to see that a loan has benefited the likes of Eze and Chair, surely he wants to play football.

That said I'm not taking into allowance our injury track record, with our luck and track record we will probably need Kolli within a few weeks even if the transfer actually happens.

I'm hoping that he's only got one more year because it's a joke that your best option as a target/hold up player from a weak selection is always on the treatment table and even if he starts struggles to complete the 90

Sadly I think your probably right and that's Nourry's plan, trouble is chuck too many DS kids into competitive Championship matches at the same time and we will get rolled over by the more physical aggressive teams, then there's the Contenders who will just have too much quality in there squad.

Last season Marti got the balance right only blooding players when they appeared ready or sadly injuries gave him no option. It's a tough gig as a Head Coach being told these are the players you have to work with and this is the clubs strategy get in line or move on.

I'm personally hoping we can still get 2/3 more experienced players in to balance out the squad, it doesn't have to cost a fortune if you do the right deals at the right time,

Hopefully JS will have a few players back from injury soon which will be a massive help because we have one of the weakest striking options in the division and that's when they are fit.

Excellent article which gives you a real sense of the true heart and soul of the club as it established itself in the community and the highs and lows of success and failure, it's because we struggle to achieve success that there is so much euphoria when it's achieved.
Reaching the other Wembley finals was a success, very close to beating the Spurs but it's far easier to forget the Milk Cup debacle.

The Fernandes tenure was a disaster, the man had good intentions but went about it like a bull in a China shop and never once thought about the Financial implications, he may have officially left in 2023 but Ruben took over long before that which managed to stabilise us financially.

What have learned ?
at 07:45 4 Aug 2025

That it won't be all the Head Coach's fault if we start off badly, he can only work with the players he has been given and the fitness issues are a big worry.

Have we learnt any of the lessons from last season, in spite of the fact some on here keep saying it's a rubbish division, it's not there's a lot of quality and we need a team that is robust and will stand up to the physicality.

Thanks Clive for another superb article, that sounded exactly the start to the season that has been missing and a lot of French Bon Homie in the process.

This posting by Beans comes across as a cheerleader for Nourry, maybe he's on work experience and trying to impress the boss, it really does scream a Qblockpete scenario.

We accept that Cifuentes was going to leave because of his poor relationship with Nourry, some people said it was toxic, if that's the case he had no option but to explore other avenues even though he wanted to stay. As somebody else has said because Nourry was Hoos man he was safe knowing he had his backing and that the board who operate from a massive distance would only back the Manager till the end of the season, they deemed it the least amount of upheaval.

Whether you like it or not Nourry is hugely inexperienced for the very Senior role that he has been given, Man management is a skill that you learn over years, this shouts of somebody imposing himself with his ideas and strategy and just maybe not working in the smartest way when it comes to dealing with his staff.

What's totally crazy is we've all just started to move on a bit, not happy but realised that we have a new manager who needs our support, it's our club not Nourry's he will be gone at some stage and the fans will still be there.

Clive is an independent journalist who does a fantastic job, he spoke with the genuine fans in Perpignan and got their feedback, that's all he did but you saw that as a crime, the people he spoke about in his post are long time supporters with very valued opinions and as you realise includes the WLS journalist in case you were not sure.

Kelman:Here We Go
at 12:16 27 Jul 2025

Like a lot of people I would have liked to have seen him extend his contract and stay but that offer was rejected so we were left with no option but to sell and as you rightly say we've got more for him than the other five players so that seems a result.

The trick is to use that money wisely and get good replacements, it looks as if we may have made a good start with Burrell, he seems to have power and pace which has been seriously missing.

Agreed that's a positive something we desperately lacked last year, pace, power and energy was missing in a number of games.

Hoping we're still looking for a left back because I'm not convinced Larkeche is the answer, do we give him the first few games to see how he's developed, having Steve Bould shouting at him week in week out may help.

Certainly sounds that way, the Nourry transfer tombola charges on, the strategy seems to be if you get enough new players through the door the law of averages says a couple of them should make the grade.....

Great finish by Dave all that's proved is that Wiegman has been poor with the substitutions, never mind were back in it and the momentum should hopefully be with England....

Your probably thinking of Steve Black who was brought in whilst Redknapp was Manager, he very sadly passed away at the age of 64 in 2022......

If it was the Hughes era then NLondonhoops suggestion is probably spot on.

Again it's all guesswork, very few facts available, maybe Marti was leaving but why did he say he wanted to stay, we will never know.

As you can guess I'm in the camp of not being happy with the way it was handled but it's done now, we move on and support the next man.

That was brilliant, he could be our best signing of the Summer, not sure how we got him but credit where it's due so we'll done CN.

Lots of great banter but being old school I found the line to Tuck a classic...

"Did that get in your boat, love it mate, you need a few scars"

As others have said the media team doing a very good job
