QPR's road warriors sink ten-man Swans - Report
at 21:37:01

I don’t think Burrell could trap Kone’s arse if he twerked right in front of him.

No matter, Chair and co can trap the balls, just need Kone and Burrell to stick it in the back of the net.

This team is only going to getter better as the season progresses. Exciting times.

Thoroughly enjoyed that Dorse, bravo mate.

“Tented-underpanted”, I’m 60 now and have never heard that term before, tickled me.

Madsen still has some way to go yet, but the transformation is a credit to him and presumably the coaching staff, so well done to all involved, great work.

As much as I have been mildly impressed by Vales’ performances, especially his vision and touch, he doesn’t really put the full back under enough pressure or create enough for the strikers.

Personally I would be going for pace up top tomorrow, with Smyth and Saito occupying the wings and Burrell supporting Kone up front. Hayden and Madsen in the holding roles, Madsen providing the forward progression. Cook and Morrison at CB.

After two dreary, tired looking performances, we really need to up the ante tomorrow.

I do hope JS has got his shit together for this one. They will be at us from the off and we need to be prepared and up for it. Need some Grimsby type passion and desire.

Big test of JS ability to motivate the boys. Pitchforks are already out and ready to deploy.

Some of those boys were tiny. They made our first team midgets look like giants.

Preston make their point as QPR run out of puff – Report
at 20:17:54

85% availability eh. The 15% must have all been from the first team, with literally nobody else across the entire club picking up an injury. Unlikely.

As I write, we have been heavily linked with Kone from Wycombe. If true, I will be happy to drive Celar to Grimsby.

It’s going to be a slow start. No escaping it.

Rangers read the room, finish on a high at Sunderland - Report
at 10:57:55

Thanks Clive, for another brilliant, if often painful, season of reviews, reports and insights into the ahem, joys of supporting the hoops. It simply wouldn’t be the same without you.

Have a great summer and let’s hope the club can make some half decent decisions during the break and we can kick on next season. We do have some decent players in this team, but the loss of Jimmy and Eddie will be huge. Both immense for us this season.

QPR’s crawl to conclusion continues with Cardiff bore-draw – Report
at 21:31:32

Surely we can pop down to Clapham Common or somewhere hosting Sunday league football and draft a striker in for a couple of weeks?

Believe you me, I have played with and against players with far more about them than anything we have rolled out this season. This is without doubt one of the weakest, lamest looking QPR teams I have seen in many years. We really are plumbing the depths of talentless tosh these days. Sad, just plain sad.

Defeats mount once more as QPR limp to meek Boro loss – Report
at 21:14:29

Marti keeps banging on about instilling a winning mentality into this group of players. I think he needs to bang a bit harder and a lot faster as it clearly isn’t sinking in.

Anderson, Dembele and Smyth to replace the current incumbents supporting whoever might be available to “lead” our line up front, would be my shout for the not so infamous sixth loss in a row on Saturday.

This wheels falling off the wagon malarkey really needs sorting out once and for all, as it is becoming seriously tiresome.

The hope was we would bed in new players this season to facilitate a push next season. The way things are panning out, we may well be back to square one in the summer, whilst carrying expensive failures, losing our own key personnel who are out of contract and two quality loanees.

Not looking good is it?

A likely defeat today and the season is effectively over. At least we’re safe, but disappointing non the less.

Rumours swirling that Spurs are looking to sign Eze in the summer.

Now that would provide a welcome financial boost.

Nonetheless, the club seems to be controlling the finances well which bodes well for our future stability.

Those statistics are shameful and utterly embarrassing for all involved at the club.

With no injuries whatsoever, we had a fighting chance this season, but to start a game with Celar, Smyth, Saito and a willing but wholly inexperienced Morgan as our attacking threat is incredulous.

Can only be another demoralising defeat on the cards today. Goalless draw if we’re lucky and Cook does his best Gandalf impersonation.

Famine to feast at league leading Sunderland – Oppo Profile
at 23:03:34

Time someone brought them back down to earth……unlikely to be us though.

Our recruitment through the summer is looking woeful with each passing week, as one by one piss poor individual performances result in the dreaded hook and bench routine. Celar next up, although I wouldn’t be surprised if he isn’t in the line up tomorrow. If he is and contributes the sum total of zip, he may well take some flak.

Another game to be watched from the back of the settee with gritted teeth. Please make it stop.

Aaaahh, the comfort of nostalgia. Tenuous, but something to hang on to.

It’s a dry, clear day up in Burnley today and I will be there with my 3 non Rangers supporting siblings (forced them to wear QPR colours throughout their childhoods….didn’t stick, don’t know why)

Think this one might be closer than the league standings suggest, but the presence of a really poor looking Celar concerns me. I would rather see Anderson in there and an attempt made at our forward line playing to their ball playing strengths.

Koloeosho is their danger man and must be contained. Fox is not the man to do it. He will have another torrid afternoon if up against him. Hope Marti has done his homework.

Stuttering QPR’s home woes continue against Hull – Report
at 20:58:12

The balance of the team is all out of kilter, especially with Chair and JCS missing and as a consequence we are getting badly exposed at the back. Some of the newbies are settling better than others, but Varane and Santos look well off it at the moment. We need Varane up to speed asap otherwise we only have Field protecting the back 4 in the absence of Colback.

We definitely showed signs of our ability at the top end of the pitch against Hull, but we now look frail at the back. Have we got the right type of squad to achieve the balance we need to compete effectively in this league. Time will tell, but not convinced we have.

Frey’s big start, Madsen’s quiet wins, Field’s conundrum - Perryipheral Thoughts
at 11:15:39

Great summary Alex and I’m sure Clive is relieved to have your support and assistance this season. It must be a tough slog doing it on your own, regardless of how invested you are in following this club.

Agree totally with your assertions of Madson and Field. Madson gives the impression that the game is passing him by, but he plays with a strange nonchalance that belies the control and composure he clearly possesses. I expect him to become another fan favourite this season.

As for Field, already a fan favourite having occasionally held our midfield together single handed. A great guy, great attitude, but….his apparent inability or unwillingness to receive a ball from the keeper and turn with it is starting to grate. I do think however, that he will retain his starting spot, for now, and the liability that is Colback will soon lose his starting spot to Varane.

As you say, Cifuentes is more ruthless than perhaps most fans appreciate. No prisoners will taken. Regardless of who you are, you will eventually be replaced if you don’t meet his requirements and expectations. This is how progress is made and he isn’t wasting any time doing what needs to be done. Fair play to him.
