All Still can really do at the moment is get every player fit, work out who is likely to be good enough to stay and who we will end up losing by September. The other thing he can do is blood the new players and the youngsters, although it only looks like 2 or 3 of them.
Archer does look like the best finisher so I can see him getting over 20 goals if he stays fit. I think we’re better geared up for a 4-4-2 or 4-2-2-2 with the players we have so Archer and Downs could be the combo.
We desperately need to get rid of about 10 players but obviously little interest in them.. |

Fantastic news! We need a club stalwart to help us through what needs to be the most important rebuild in our history. We all know he isn’t first choice and doesn’t command high wages. This makes a lot of sense to me. That said, I agree that 2 year extension would have been more logical at 31. Perhaps the three years suggests he will continue after his career in some capacity at the club.
You won’t find a braver defender who is willing to throw his body in front of piledrivers when others turn away and the ball deflects into the net (Aribo, Bednarek, THB to name 3 who I’ve seen shy away).
We don’t see how much Jack brings behind the scenes but it’s clearly a lot! |

No idea if he’s the answer, his goal tally isn’t staggering. But it’s good to see we are having early success with our targets in Quarshie and Downs, if he does indeed sign.
Need to rid of a few more really soon so we can bring in what we need for some sort of pre season. There’s a lot we can sell on without compromising our squad strength and losing the ones we want to keep. |

Wow there really is some divided opinion here! The truth is usually somewhere in the middle.
I think the biggest issue we have had is recruitment, this impacted heavily on Martin and Juric last year and I would suggest that opinion is shared by the likes of Rangers and Atalanta. We didn’t have anywhere near the right recruitment to enable the better players to thrive. Sulemana clearly had the talent, he destroyed Man United at OT and showed much in other games. The issue was the end product and that may have been just down to the overall confidence of him and the team. In a fresh start in a better and established team, he might well produce the goods. In that league, I think he will as it’s not as tough as the PL.
Equally, it was probably time for him to move on as it just didn’t work for him here and to get the fee we have as definitely more than I could have hoped for. I didn’t hear about any interest in him from any Prem teams so it’s a good fee.
According to Transfermarkt and some other sites on Google, Onuachu is a Trabzonspor player with a fee of 6 million euros. That’ll do.. |

All that matters is that Will is happy with the appointment. Hopefully Trollope will have a good idea on the character and mentality of a lot of the players we are looking to buy from other English clubs, given his experience in English leagues and about the opposition players we will come up against. That bit of knowledge might be key.
Times have changed, I’m very positive about this new set up, now it’s down to the board to get the player recruitment right. |

I would sell Ramsdale, Bednarek and also Armstrong, we should get a few million for him given his record, just he’s not good enough for the top level where we will trying to reach again in 9 months. The same goes for Smallbone and Manning, they’re never going to be up to Premier League standard so I don’t see the point in keeping them. Quite simply we need to keep those who have the talent for the top despite not showing it yet but that requires the ability to shift all the deadwood we don’t want and that’s often the hardest bit.

I see we’re losing another youth player for next to nothing to Utd.. this sums us up in recent years, let out best players go and keep the rubbish.. now we might lose Charles thanks to stupidity. Bednarek will probably go, as will Bella-Kotchap who was a waste of money and wages, so we may need 2 more. Stephens may take a more back up role as experience on training to help the younger guys. Say what you like about him, they can learn a lot from him and he has the passion for the badge.
I’m more concerned about nobody leaving yet when we need to cull about 10 players, if not more. Only Lallana and KWP so far with Lumley, many more need to go and soon. |

Ramsdale goes with all of our blessings and heartfelt thanks for his efforts. Lumley isn’t good enough, McCarthy is woeful and slow and the jury is out for Bazunu, so he is the only one I’d keep unless someone comes in for him.
We definitely need a first choice keeper with Bazunu challenging. Promote a youth keeper as no.3 or keep Lumley as training help and no.3. Mccarthy has to go, paying him too much and after he ran out of goal like a PlayStation keeper against Liverpool, I’m done with him and his overly laid back demeanour. Ramsdale is better partly due to his energy and aggression. Wish him the best and hopefully we get 20-25 million for him. |

It really also depends on who is available and interested in joining us, who is also better than what we have left. I like Welington and Latinos, both for me have the potential to play at the top level in the varied systems that Still has used. His left back or wing back before scored goals, so I would sell Manning as he struggles to play left wing back, ok as a left back but no idea how to attack. I would keep Taylor as well as he can play left side of a 3 or deputise as he did against Arsenal at CB. So Manning is the only one for me to go. I would also keep Bree, he has a good delivery and has also played well in the Prem at times in odd systems, I like him and his versatility. I would keep Sugawara if there’s nobody better to bring in but happy to see him go for 5-8 million as he isn’t lightning quick as we may prefer for a wing back.
I think we only need to buy one right back if we sell Suga and nobody new needed in the left. |
