That's true as we now have now played 10 games to take stock.
On reflection Boreham Wood and the Carlisle game are the two stand outs. Even the potential banana skin of Truro away has been navigated and is now out of the way.
Still very early days of course but there is so much to like about our management team, the players and what they are delivering on a match day.
Some interesting points in this thread, one the club will monitor i am sure.
U Block is doing really well. I was a little nervous but so far so good.. Loud, supportive and well behaved. If they could grow by another 50% whilst continuing the good work this would only enhance the match day experience.
We all probably know one or two lapsed, occasional Dale supporter so to keep reminding them that they should give it another shot is worthwhile.
Six league wins on the spin and the opportunity to make that 7 on Wednesday against Halifax is probably as attractive as this half of the season gets.
The club does need a better plan though.. with the start that the players have given us every postponed game will throw up a needless complication… we are on the best run in ages to lose the advantage because of rain would be a travesty.
The big question is what can be done?
Do the covers work or not?
Not sure our “storage solution” is the best? Screwed up chucked at the side of the pitch looks Sunday league.. we should be doing much better than we are.
Excellent from Dale (Again) credit to the players for displaying the ruthlessness required to keep pushing that top spot.
10 games played and 22 goals scored. 2.2 average over 46 games will give us a massive chance of a season to remember.
The only (tiny) negative is that Dale should have been home and hosed on 30 minutes but to dwell on that would be churlish.. We now roll on to Wednesday and a Home derby against Halifax.
Played 10 and won 9.. Incredible start to the season.
If there was a doubt after 2 glorious autumn days and a third forecast tomorrow then we are in a pickle regarding the drainage. (Nothing we did not know already).
It was very horrendous on Saturday with 24 hours worth of heavy / driving rain.
With the covers squad in place lets hope we are as prepared as possible for upcoming games when any rain is forecast.
Saturday represents a huge opportunity to send a clear message to title rivals.
One team will win the league from the Big 6 unless there is a massive left field run from one of the remaining 18 teams.
This is our first game of the season against one of the big 6.. below in the order I think are most likely to finish champions... Dale are in the 6 but i will leave out of below prediction..
1. Carlisle 2. York 3. Southend 4. Scunthorpe 5. Forest Green
Dale we hope as a mimimum are top 7, hopeful top 6 but i could not predict if we have the guile and attributes to win the whole thing or settle into the chasing pack.
One thing for sure we have a great chance if we push on a little further.
He had two 1v1 on the keeper at the end of both half.
On another day he scores both and we win 3-0 possibly more.
On the Hendo thread its been mentioned that Hendo is wearing coaching gear rather than a playing strip. That can only help as the season progresses.
Cant be too harsh after our 7th win in 8 but Rodney also shot wide of the right hand post (Similar to Braintree) when the laser gets calibrated we should click and be a right handful for most teams in this National league.
