Hard to be overly critical on any player especially a defender after a clean sheet but I thought Hogan looked off the pace and his misplaced pass very nearly gifted Yeovil a goal at 1-0 and what would have been an undeserved way back into the game.
Mani D - Fantastic.. lets hope him and Rodney stay fit all season.
I thought Mani might see red after the pushing and shoving.. In the end the ref got that one right.
The whole team look on it.. brilliant. 11 wins from 13 is stuff of dreams.
A tough looking November coming up. we will know a lot more about our chances in this league in 5 or 6 weeks time.
On the game I thought two good sides who on reflection will both Challenge at the top end of the national league all season.
Newby excellent for York, possibly MOM. There was a first half warning when he was unmarked at the edge of the Dale box, his shot just wide.
Edge of the box unmarked (2) was an absolute beauty fair play.
Edge of the box unmarked (3) was the winner all be it a howler from our keeper.
Over 90 minutes eradicate the needless defensive errors (What was Beckwith trying to do first half!!) and be more ruthless final 3rd we are easily a match for York City.
Bring on Yeovil, lets crack on now with this National League priority. I would like to go as deep as possible in the FA Trophy given no FA Cup matches this year.
10 wins from 12 is unbelievable.. credit to Jim, his team and the players.
Kairo missed his early chance and got dragged. Has he cupped his ear yet to the FGR fans?
Should have put the game to bed with further goals second half. Dale need to stay top now and as others alluded become win ruthless.. Barnet/Chesterfield/Wrexham/Stockport all have shown the way in recent seasons.
2900 from Dale on a Tuesday excellent. Halifax at home is for many the stand out home fixture (This season).
Then comes the tinkering.. was to much focus on Saturday rather than the immediate game in hand?. Play the game in front of you and then reassess the following morning.
Hogan for EEL and Rodney on the bench looked like a nod to Saturday - Halifax benefited from those 2 decisions.
The fact EEL and Rodney had maximum exposure and exertion in the second half makes the managing player fitness thought process redundant.
We cant play our best 11 every week but we can play our best available 11.
Last night Jim got it wrong.. looking at the team sheet it looked unbalanced and so it proved.
Hogan is just to slow now physically, mentally and execution.
Gordon has a tough game closed down half a dozen times by the hard working Halifax players.
Tarryn needs to spend a week cutting inside some cones on the training ground and deciding how to shoot underneath the bar not blazing it high and wide.
Mani isolated with 2 or 3 defenders snapping at his heels.. was his disallowed goal handball? it happened very quickly it was probably the right decision.
Rodney and EEL should have started. Its at home in our local Derby with valuable 3 points on offer. As mentioned previously by others the energy expunged in the last 30 minutes makes rotation and supposed rest nonsense.
On a positive note Dale could easily have got something from last night despite going 2-0 down. The midweek home crowd was up and we did get an entertaining game. This side still learning and i think we will see a big reaction on Saturday and a performance to match.
9 wins from 11 and a massive top of the table clash at the weekend. Bring that on.
Going into the game with 6 consecutive wins the team will be supremely confident.
I like the fact they all look "bought in" ... together.. knowing they have a huge job to do this year. Its a hunger that comes out in spades, one we have not seen for quite some time.
