Hi Brian That's why he was put on gardening leave. The rights/wrongs of that is something I haven't really touched on, mainly because of time constraints TBF. I do think a lot of this feeling of a 'whiff' of something in terms of reporting comes down to the current popularity of MC versus unpopularity of others . I see it as somewhat (only somewhat!) comparable to the situation with Paladini and Ian Holloway a few years back. I had a terrible relationship with the QPR regime then and some pretty awful things went on. Some folk on here will have some idea what I'm talking about. I was banned from LR for a period of time and others had it much worse. But the prevailing narrative of IH being some kind of victim of that regime was awkward - because it was totally untrue. Some were upset with me then and felt I'd gone soft on Gianni. Sometimes though the facts don't favour who you'd like them to. |

I didn't write that but I did OK it on the basis that it was an interesting (ahem) take. SWP suggesting Ashley Cole for the QPR job. It is what it is. And frankly, yes, because I knew it would get clicks. We do far, far less of that than others, and very rarely use content that came from another outlet (while having our stuff nicked left, right and centre), but I do think there are times to play the game too, and that was an example. It was factually accurate - it's what SWP said - and relevant to an important QPR topic. So it's good to go and whether Ashley Cole should be in the running is irrelevant IMO. |

Hi all I don't usually post (various reasons) and am very, very used to getting stick, although I'm not thinking of this forum when I say that. Also well used to comments about being in or out of favour with various QPR regimes and so on - happens all the time. It's always total and utter rubbish and often ironic to the point that it has me laughing out loud. But when good posters on here feel like there's some kind of softening or compromise of any kind, I feel like I should respond. I just wondered if anyone has any examples of this they'd point to or any thoughts on things that should be covered/said that haven't been. Part of the reason I wouldn't usually do this is out of respect for Clive - not wanting to come on here discussing me! So apologies to him for this. But, like I said, I feel like on this occasion I should respond and might be able to clarify a few things. Cheers. |
