 | News Comment | Southampton V Portsmouth The Verdict at 17:35:20
Onetowatch ( or not ). Please keep your comments on my history - of which you know NOTHING about - to yourself. Whether I have or haven't played football at any level is of no concern to you. Football is about opinions and mine was FD had a bad game. Fine if you don't agree. Just like you didn't agree with Nick on his report . |
 | News Comment | Southampton V Portsmouth The Verdict at 09:51:10
I'm really surprised that no-one has mentioned how bad the midfield was in particular Downes, he had a nightmare of a game. Continually giving the ball away. The midfield issue could also explain why the centre backs kept passing the ball between themselves - there was no outlet. Cant recall if Aribo was on the bench or not but he needs to play in place of Downes alongside Charles |
 | News Comment | Does The M27 Derby Mean As Much To the Players As The Fans at 09:51:27
They may not be 'local' boys any more but I think you'll be surprised at how aware they are of the rivalry. I'm sure some of the backroom staff will have informed them and used it as motivation, I certainly would. Play for the team play for the badge Bring on Sunday - its going to be massive. |
 | News Comment | Everton Said To Have Reached Verbal Agreement With Southampton Over Dibling at 10:32:22
davidargyll agree with you re TD and getting injured, he's scared of tackling!! In fact he's scared of most things! There also appears to be an attitude problem when he's compared against Robinson or Matty. Hopefully its £42 million plus add ons as that also pushes Mattys price up. Although it could be that only one had to go and the club choose TD! |
 | News Comment | Southampton Open Talks To Sign Forward From Lens This One Is Quirky at 13:36:50
givemesport.com aren't exactly up to date with things, they still show us as having Juric as a manager and in the premier league!! So not even going to take this with a 'pinch of salt' As for Romano, he does have a good rep but even he gets things wrong and as seems to be in this case. So quirky is one way to describe it!! |
 | News Comment | Southampton At Espanyol The Verdict at 13:41:42
Been waiting for your review and it seems to be a very 'soft' one - bit like the penalty. Lets not beat about the bush 'Captain' Jack was at fault for both goals. Simple. Hopefully Still saw the same and will now drop him. |
 | News Comment | Southampton Start Season With Wrexham Media Circus In Town at 14:25:54
I am full of confidence about the new season and fully expect a promotion challenging or even Championship winning season. Looking at the teams in the division there are really only two that are worrysome - Ipswich and Leicester. Leicester are in disarray following the late leaving of RVN and Ipswich have lost players and we can beat them. The rest hold no fear, including the Hollywood factor. It then comes to a few things firstly, how Will Still and his staff motivate, coach and instill tactics into the squad. Secondly, the squad. Its been said we don't need to get rid on anyone, hopefully it will be three in and four/five out. Archer is an ex U21 international so he should be able to score at Championship level given the right supply. Dibling needs a kick ( or ten ) up his a*se to focus properly. ( or Lallana's arm around his shoulders ). Ramsdale needs to stay. Which leaves the squad factor. They should be motivated to show that they are not as bad as last season made them out to be, they should want to put a wrong right, they should have the desire to 'pay the fans back' for the support that they have given them, Nothing less than 120% every match will do. |
 | News Comment | Will Still Appointed As Southampton Manager at 12:36:56
There was always one question I had that has now been answered - why could Bournemouth, Brighton ( twice ) and Palace find these excellent managers and we couldn't? So all I would have liked ( cant say wanted as I have no influence on matters ) is for the research to be done and for Spors to find a gem. I have my wish!! SR now need to back him, we need to back him so that he is here for years to come and he gets us our place back in the Premier League and we stay there. |
 | News Comment | The Time For Managerial Change At Southampton Is Now at 18:31:41
Considering everything that has gone on and is till going n and inevitably will go on I surprised at the crowd attendance, another game with 30k+ support but how much longer is that likely to go on? As a ST holder I'm seriously considering not going to the next match I mean sit in the cold and watch my team get soundly beaten or sit at home in the warm watching a different match on Sky - tough choice! Talking of the crowd - no mention of the chanting from Saturday? Whats ging on Nick? They have turned against Juric and have started on some of the players. So yes Juric out in the hope we can get past 12 pts! |
 | News Comment | Southampton At Manchester United The Verdict at 14:10:44
I thoroughly enjoyed the match until Smallbone came on, not a PL player IMO, yes the other subs contributed to the result but Smallbone was the worst. Still no point dissecting it any further as it wont change the result, just hope that Juric has learned from it. Meaning the subs and result against Forest will be better. |
 | News Comment | Southampton Tout Sulemana To European Clubs at 19:06:43
First question I have is are we under pressure to sell to maintain PSR? Either way, I would be for selling KWP - for obvious reasons - Sulemana, Tall Paul, Diaz and one or two others. Then with a few selected additions I would keep Ramsdale and the bulk of the squad on the condition that if we didn't get promoted at the end of the 25-26 season they could leave. A gentlemans agreement if you will. Its certain we are going back down so its important to get a squad that is capable of a quick return and then stay in the PL. That also includes the manager!! |
 | News Comment | Saints Get Pricing Badly Wrong As Set For Lowest FA Cup Attendance in 15 Years at 13:33:44
Has anyone else noticed the change in the price crisps chocolate and beer. Last season bag of Big bag crisps was £ 1-60 this season its a normal sized bag and its £1-80 A mars bar last season was a duo for £1-60 this season its a small bar for £1-80 - I now buy any snacks and drink before I get to the ground, so Saints lose out. Along with the tasteless beer - I've stopped drinking it - which has also gone up in price. The fan zones which just delay my journey to the Kingsland stand, the poor performances on the pitch I've become very disillusioned with Saints. The only thing that keeps me going is the ' I paid for my season ticket so I'm going to use it'! Thou for how much longer I'm not sure |
 | News Comment | Enough Is Enough ! Russell Martin Has To Adapt Or Go ! at 12:33:40
Really impressed with KWP. Fernandes, Archer, Aribo and Manning showing the fight and determination that is required. Shame the rest of the team couldn't! Right from the start I've been on the fence with Martin really not convinced by him. Last night thou settled it - he has to go and sooner the better. |
 | News Comment | Southampton V Liverpool The Verdict at 12:40:04
Nothing like focusing on a team in trouble! We have 8 matches between now and the New Year ( all competitions ) and 7 of them are televised. Crystal Palace on the 29/12 isn't - currently. A little bit of respite in Jan - only 1 so far. |
 | News Comment | Southampton V Everton The Verdict at 15:19:42
If there's one thing I hate about the premiership and that is the theatrics - the rolling around on the floor, the overacting you all know what I'm on about. So Halftimeorange I have to disagree - not totally - but disagree I will. Young didn't take the throw in correctly and just pushed the ball in Fernandes's face, totally unneeded and unjustified. The overreaction wasn't totally justified. The Ref got it wrong Young should have been booked. Perhaps a more fair way would have been to book both of them. |
