Very good first half when we were a different class to Braintree - we could and should have been 4-0. Literally toying with them.
The second half was for the most part a non event as we allowed them to take control as they pressed us higher and our midfield (particularly Ryan)struggled to regain control.
Hopefully we will not do that against the better teams in this league otherwise they will punish us.
Disappointed that we did not improve our goal difference, that Mani did not get his hattrick and that we didn't see Mancini.
Despite these minor quibbles there were some very good performances including young Whatmuff who made a good point blank one on one save after half time.
Game should have been won by half time after a decent performance in the first 45.
Very unconvincing, nervous second half after we scored with the momentum in their favour and our midfield largely overrun. This seems to be a worrying trait with Petit introduced too late.
When Barlow went off we lacked the creativity to open them up and needed a spark in the final third to score a second goal. We look to be too dependent on Mani at the moment.
Nonetheless a win and three points putting us second in the league. Wealdstone lost and it is important that we get a result there on Saturday with our strongest IX.
It is tight at the top. FGR squeezed a win in the dying minutes to go top and Carlisle look to be getting into their stride. Southend and York both drew in tough fixtures.
Despite Saturday's debacle I am looking forward to a 5-0 win with Mani scoring his first hattrick for the club. Sutton look to be really struggling this season.
Would possibly expect a couple of changes from the line up that beat Gateshead. Hope that the players and coaching staff can respond positively and that results elsewhere go our way.
Disappointing result caused primarily by too many unnecessary changes. Surely 4-5 changes would have sufficed. Irrespective of what squad we put out Brackley are part timers who have a similar fixture schedule and we did not pressurise them.
Our defeat has knocked us off the top will have encouraged Southend and FGR who have both won with Carlisle still to play. The doubts will now again begin to emerge given the tame performance.
Trying to look for some positives but they will maybe not emerge until we hopefully beat Sutton on Monday.
Hope that BJ and the coaching team will have learnt from this and not take similar risks again later in the season.
Very good assessment of where we are this season so far.
As to be expected I suspect that the narrative will become clearer once we are 8-10 games in. We should also get a feel for who the other play off contenders may be in what looks like being quite a tightly contested division.
Lets hope that our strength in depth and class can shine through!
Good if unspectacular performance against a tough Altringham team. On another day with another referee we could have had 3 or 4 goals.
As stated Mani makes a huge difference and will bring out the best in other players. Good partnerships are starting to develop all over the pitch and we have genuine strength in depth. EEL's captaincy has been excellent so far this season and other leaders are emerging.
Early days but other results (especially Boreham Wood) suggest that the division could be a bit tighter than envisaged. Gateshead on Wednesday will be a good barometer.
