Don't understand this decision. Ferguson has been poorly treated and for a relatively young player shows potential. Doesn't send out a positive signal. He will be another who moves and does well for another club! |

Absolutely agree with so much of this post and add a few random thoughts on the back of other comments. Greig probably gets told what he can ask and BJ obviously reiterates the same PR rubbish mixed in with the current interpretation of the coaching manual. It is window dressing. One lasting image was Jack the kitman's face at the final whistle. He looks totally p*ssed of and like many of us older supporters is rueing anther chance at glory slipping through our hands and the memories of 1969 slowly fading. Regarding BJ good managers are born and not made and usually have key attributes such as respect, discipline and motivation as well as tactical prowess. It also helps to have tactical savvy, passion, a clear philosophy, method and Plan B. What would Ferguson, Clough or Shankly have said after last night? The squad would probably be reporting for training this morning. We have good footballers but some of them are too physically and mentally weak to win this league which is admittedly very difficult. looking at the clout of teams next season ( Carlisle, Morecambe, Scunthorpe) we could well finish eighth or below unless things change quickly. BJ will certainly be in charge at the start of next season but he has a partial squad re-build to do and important decisions to make. Other posters have already indicated that some players will need to move on (or be transferred), and we will need a goalkeeper, central defender, midfield general and centre forward at the very least. Our would be saviour Bird will not be here unfortunately and Rodney could easily be poached. Loanees need to be more carefully considered and need to add real quality like the Southend right winger who was man of the match last night. I'm sure that the Ogden family will be watching closely given the atmosphere last night and our ability to attract a gate of 5,000 for important games. the Southend fans contributed massively to this. Lets make every game important from day one next season! Finally I hope that we can find a role for Ian Henderson in some coaching/ managerial capacity if possible as he has a lot to offer in a more professional set up. UTD. |

Fair play to Southend Utd. Fighting spirit and never say die. They looked stronger and as iftey wanted it more. We looked toothless at the end. Time to re-group and plan for next season but it wont be any easier. |

Could and maybe should be 4-2 at HT. They look useful going forward but a bit shaky at the back. Hopper and Coker need to be rattled. Our attitude looks right but we can not be complacent. I agree we should not overplay at he back and need to be more direct to Bird and Rodney. |

Great fun. Well done Sheffdale a worthy winner! Thanks BDB for all your diligent work and making difficult parts of the season more enjoyable than otherwise would have been the case. |

He also made an outrageous great lofted cross with the outside of his right foot that was just waiting to be put into the net, not long after coming on! |

Is there a huge gulf in class with most teams in L2? For example Bromley have had a decent season (mainly due to the goals that Michael Cheek has scored). Our squad needs two or three good class signings whether permanent (Hogan) or loanees (Kingdon). I would like to see a decent keeper who is our own and would like to see Waller back after injury if possible Don't think we will keep Bird unless we are promoted. Otherwise proven performers like Linney (Alty) and Haughton (Fylde) would fit the bill in my opinion if they can be signed. Must re-sign Barlow and I would definitely keep Ferguson and Burger who are both developing well. Formation wise I think we are more solid and fluid when we play 3 in midfield and would suggest that this could be with wing backs if necessary. |

Good news. Would have liked to see Kelly given more of a chance to shine. |

Sounds like Ayinde is performing well which is just what we need at this stage of the season! Would be inclined to try and get a goal for Kairo before Jay Bird if we are comfortable in the 2nd half. Bird could maybe start on Tuesday? |

Good team player solid in the middle of the park. Would be a good addition to the current squad we have! RIP |

Good point - but we are probably just as inconsistent away from home conceding late goals in drawn games. I think I would still favour a home tie as long as we go out with the right tactics. In saying that it all depends on who we draw. |

Hoping that there is no complacency and we continue with our more direct aggressive style of late. Fourth or fifth place would boost our play off prospects. It would be great if Kairo could score to-day as this would be a confidence booster. |

As long as we win I couldn't care about the performance tomorrow. Of course going forward both winning and entertainment need to be in tandem if we are to thrive. |

Certainly worth a 1 year extension based on recent performances. He should have played regularly much earlier in the season when Kairo wasn't scoring. |
