Is there any point doing the draw - from what I can see at the moment from Newcastle fans and staff they are acting like they’ve just won the whole thing, not a second round game against a team in your own league!!
He is in the photoshoot video that the club put out on social media yesterday. Photo Being taken of him holding a ball, presumably for Team announcement graphics, goal gifs etc. club only chose to show a handful of players in the short 30 second video but assume they made a point of including him to show he’s just injured and nothing more sinister is going on.
It also isn’t common practice for us to do this. It has only been in place for this one game because the club know full well that a million Leeds fans (they would have brought more don’t you know) will want a ticket in the home end! Not exactly rocket science is it.
Knows the club, worked wonders at Bournemouth last year after being told he couldn’t bring anyone in and got the best out of a bunch of players told they weren’t good enough for that level by Parker.
Living in Essex, where you’re no more than 5 yards from a West Ham or Spurs plastic fan (where I’ve probably been to their ground more than they actually have) the default answer is usually “oh well I guess someone’s got to”
As much as the club drives me crazy it is great when you bump into a fellow R, always a little “You Rs” between people when you a see the odd random shirt around town. Something you just don’t get supporting any of the so called “bigger” clubs.
Penny for the thoughts of Kenneth Paal, Leon Balogun et al. Uprooting their families, moving their homes and entire lives for a bloke who’s off within months. - if I was a player and GRangers came to try and sign me I’d certainly be questioning anything Beale says. Especially if he wanted me to “go to the well” as he always bleats on about.
To be honest I’m not sure he’s all that and a bag of chips, clearly a decent coach you can’t deny that, but we are still basically the same team as we were under Warburton. STILL too reliant on Chair and in particular Willock, STILL conceding from set pieces on the regular, STILL inconsistent with both performances and results and STILL don’t have a clear plan b or change of style when needed. This time last season we were 5th with similar points total.
Personally I’d go for Critchley and I’d be surprised if it’s not him, either that or Liam Richardson.
Due to cases within the Birmingham camp. Does that put our game with them on the 2nd Jan in doubt now?
We could be on the other side of the coin now, where we had it relatively early on the rest of the leagues teams are starting to “catch up” for want of a better phrase.
“ This fixture has been selected by the club as a ‘Friends & Family’ fixture, with Season Ticket Holders able to purchase up to two tickets in all areas of the stadium for just £10 each prior to matchday — subject to availability”
The £10 price is for season ticket holders. General sale Joe public is £15 for an adult ticket. Surely these are the people who the club should be targeting getting to these games? The walk up neutrals wanting to watch a cheap game of midweek football. £5 a ticket for everyone and £1 for kids would surely work out just as profitable
West Brom only wanted £20 for a league game with a host of ex prem players on show. Not League 1 and championship reserves!
Surely there is a way (particularly at home) where you can play 2 up top and still have Chery in behind like JFH insists we have to have.
If we are shipping goals anyway then why not sacrifice a defensive mid and replace with a striker? 4-1-3-2?
I'm sure someone like Luongo or Cousins can cover the ground as a 1 in front of the back 4 and when defending the extra striker can drop in to have a 4-1-4-1 and give us the width.
