I'm a uni lecturer so I'm all too familiar with the phenomenon of the gen Z attention deficit. And I understand to an extent the need to account for clipped content being the main mode of consumption in this demographic.
But, surely that only works if you've got content to clip. The reason English football remains so appealing is the history and the drama inside the ground. At some point the neglect of actual match going supporters is going to destroy the 'product' you'd have thought.
I know for a fact I've posted this on here before , but I love it. Tale of the 2011 riots. I saw Dizraeli and the Small Gods years ago in Sheffield, one of the best gigs I've been to - bit more uptempo than this!
I like the sound of this guy. The guardian guy not so much.
The discussion there about movement off the ball in particular is something I'd love to see more of at Rangers, we often look incredibly static in possession
Edit. Mind you a lot of the criticism in the guardian piece seems to focus on recruitment not being coherent... Which won't necessarily be in his hands here... Not sure if that is encouraging or not tbh.
Tail end of a session, it's starting to go pear shaped, half full beer cans all over the room, take a swig, then the grim realisation that this one has been used as an ashtray for the past hour, as a cigarette butt gently settles on your tongue.
Edit. Happened so often I actually enforced a quite strict policy on marking ash-tray cans clearly, by placing a cigarette butt on the top, or leaving enough ash on top of the can that it was obvious. Important to have standards isn't it.
