It was my grandsons 1st game on Saturday and as such he was invited pitch side to watch the warm up, high-five the players and have a quick chat & photo with Julien Stephan in the dug out. All the players were very good at high-fiving him, but Saito accidentally ran past. Immediately he ran in a quick circle to come back around to make sure he slapped my grandsons hand. Quality from Koki and much appreciated. & many thanks to the club for arranging this treat for him [Post edited 22 Sep 14:20]

I did some training at Lords a few summers back while working there for the ashes They said the reason bottle lids are removed is because if there’s a stampede due to an emergency, a bottle with the lid on, if trodden on, acts like a roller skate and may cause the person to fall. Thereby causing more mayhem A bottle without a lid on if trodden on will collapse and empty its contents but is unlikely to cause a fall etc Just repeating what was stated |

Interesting thread I’ve just taken a 6 month sabbatical from work after 6 months of sick leave. Had 2 health issues in the past 2.5 years but hopefully on the mend now I’m planning to see what I feel like doing in the new year, when I turn 61 Currently I’m going to the gym and running as often as possible and walking on the off days. I also have my own side gig of taking people on tours of historic London pubs (no blue badge but I know my stuff according to the positive feedback I receive) I’ll keep an eye on this thread for ideas etc - cheers! |

The Oddfellows arms is close to the ground and is the nominated away pub - small but a good size garden The Mad Squirrel tap room in king street has a good choice of beers. There will be Watford fans in there, but rangers fans have been allowed in with no issue previously There’s also the red house next to Croxley tube if you want a drink a bit further out from the ground - 2-3 miles I’d guesstimate |

Saw it in Hampstead on Sunday - as above, my wife loved it and she isn’t a Dylan fan at all Glad to have seen him live, although nowhere near his peak. Joan Baez was excellent at RFH 10ish years ago and told some great stories |

Kurt Bakholt - I was there too - didn’t a Man City fullback kick him to pieces? [Post edited 10 Jan 15:14]

Did Kenny Samson score 2 goals and was the 1st one against Arsenal in the rain? |

The answer to any Pompey question can only be “Dean Coney”! [Post edited 16 Oct 2024 15:31]

Good luck Paul We’ve met quite a few times over the years, but whenever we do it’s always the 1st time for you, I’m obviously not very memorable 😊 Some great advice on here, wishing you all the best |

I did a tour of charterhouse a few years back and they said the throw-in was invented there as the pitch was surrounded by a cloister so no room to kick the ball back in play A quick google seems to support this |
