Devante Rodney chant
at 15:40 2 Sep 2025

When Dale are playing
Don’t make a sound
We know you are watching
They’re watching

All the commotion
The way Dale play
Has people talking
They’re talking

Oh oh oh
The Dale is on Fire.

Had a try, somat to play about with:

He’ll stick your left back in his pocket,
He brings the ball up from the back,
Cos if you want the best ‘uns,
But you don’t ask questions,
Devante Rodney, he’s our man
Coz where it all comes from is no mystery,
Not like the changing of the seasons,
And the tides of the sea,
But he is the one driving you beserk,
Why do only Dale and Rodney work,
La-la-la-la-Lah
La-Lala-La
La-la-la-la-Lah
La-Lala-La

Not sure about the last line, couldn’t really convert into something punchy or witty!

New 3rd kit released.
at 03:14 22 Aug 2025

This is going to be a marmite I reckon. I personally love it and had been holding off waiting to see which kit to get this season, having gone a bit silly in the last 2. I think some may find it a bit too much, but I quite like that this will stand out from the crowd down South. Looking forward to Truro away with my group of Dale partisans. I have a feeling they [Truro], will be surprised how many turn up.

Up the Dale.

Favourite Dale goal
at 18:57 12 Aug 2025

I just about recall going bonkers in the Sandy when Jimmy Graham flew down the left and took us 1-0 up against Leicester in the League Cup sometime in the early/mid 90’s…. Sadly lost 1-6 if I remember, but that goal and the feeling could a giant killing be on.

Aldershot away - *Help please*
at 17:49 9 Sep 2024

From a former Rochdale resident to a Hampshire one, I wanted to go being close but couldn’t persuade others to come with me due to the reputation the Shots youth have. Whilst I completely believe 95+ percent are decent loyal Shots fans who I would be happy to have a beer with and chat, I do recall ducking from 2p coins being chucked at us back in the noughties last time we where both in the EFL. I don’t know how the club can 100% crack down on those few, but I think some of the youth love their bad reputation developed on what is an old well supported club with proud Army history. Irony being, we are going to Eastleigh week after next and their youth think they are Saints firm wannabes! Can’t win!

New kit?
at 10:34 24 Aug 2024

Bournemouth, exactly what I thought! Not sure, more I look at it it’s growing but slowly.. It’s the red, not sure about the red. Suppose we’ve had red 3rd kits before over the last 30 years. Fingers crossed for today, will sneak my Dale player on whilst working.

Match shirts
at 07:35 9 Aug 2024

Morning. I’ve found e bay is a good source if you’ve not had chance to browse, they are becoming harder to get especially in an L. There’s a retro shirt site (sorry should have found a link), that has some genuine match day shirts from yesterday year players at a price from around that time. I found a rare red 3rd kit from 92/93 I think, the grandad collar one…. Loved the blue version, the yellow away for that year was on sale at around £150 poss even £200 before it went. Wish I had kept my 90’s kits now, only have 1 from 1990/91 mint condition. Anyway, good luck hopefully someone has those ones you’re looking for..

Another push for ticket sales.
at 13:59 30 Jul 2024

It’s with thanks to things like this forum, for us exiles to find things out. Thankfully I still have friends and family back home, but for those that don’t or don’t know this site exists are pretty much in the dark….

I am surprised with the lack of comms re replica shirts as 1 example. I understand if we are delayed due to late orders as a result of a takeover, as that would make sense - but announce something surely?! I think I read a hint a sample would be available on view before the Carlisle game, take it that turned out to be a red herring? It’s a shame the club has lost out on some early much needed revenue, and we’ve not had chance to enjoy 18 degree rainy summer days showing them off…

Wearing the shirt…. Everyone secretly loves the Dale!
at 11:07 4 Jul 2024

Reading with joy of the Dale shirt being proudly worn at Glastonbury made me think…. As a Dale exile in Hampshire for over 20 years now, got me wondering where other Dale fans have worn or wear their tops outside of the Dale. For me, I’ve worn my tops in many countries to show there is life outside of the Prem and have never experienced any hassle as a result. I would say down ‘er, wearing my Dale top amongst Pompey and Saints fans rarely causes issues; they are too busy hating each other! What are your stories and anecdotes of showing your colours away from home?

Hendo signs New Deal
at 16:52 11 Jun 2024

Great stuff. Positive news keeps coming ahead of the new look campaign and fingers crossed he keeps fit, as I’m sure those knees must be getting very tired. Be a bonus if there was a chance for a Hendo replica shirt to celebrate?! Be nice to have something to add to the shirt collection…. Up the Dale 💙
