Our last match was 3 May in the championship Castellon finished the Segunda on 1 June If they have already been ahead in pre-season, we need to be pretty serious about ourselves if we perform like this |

Sell Nardi. Walsh to be number 1 It is a bold move, but one I support We have been saying for years we are not profiting from players sales when their stake is “high” and while still contracted If we make business by selling Nardi, I won’t argue against that |

I think if they hit £8 million I think it is very difficult to reject. Are Espanyol, Rapid and Basel flushed with cash? They may be bidding around the region of £5-6 million, if that is the case definitely we should keep. Varane has the potential to kick on and fear not, Ben Williams is back on site |
 | Forum Reply | Varane being sold? at 21:53 20 Jun 2025
“Selling is an art form” I agree absolutely If Bus Stop can do it, it can be done. We have to learn. If Varane goes, and with decent money, it can kick start our reputation as a selling club with players other clubs want, players want to come and clubs look into our squad for reinforcements - we hold the cards and negotiate to our best interests If you look at the first team, players like Morrison, Morgan, Dembele and even Kelman can be the next Varane. Our development squad is teeming with interesting and promising young players, that is a strong sign. So far our contract negotiations and extensions with our players seem to go well, we are not being held to ransom especially in Dunne case, and we managed to wrapped it up eventually with win-win to both club and player. Maybe Nourry is getting it right? Maybe that is his forte? Maybe he has assessed our history with players like BOS, Manning (walking away free due to OOC), Dickie, Dieng, Willock (not selling and missing the windows when stock was high) and came out with a strategy to do these things better? Do you think we sold Armstrong at the right time and at the right price? Certainly other aspects can be improved massively like Celar and Madsen, these are the negatives but they have the potential to improve and find their feet this coming season - all is not lost, yet [Post edited 20 Jun 21:55]

Let’s not be overjoyed and calm down Whether it is worth will be based on the injuries or the lack of in the coming season For his sake I wish the squad remains healthy, he needs to justify why the club should bring him back on site with a full-time role. Bloody hell he succeeds. |

If the relationship has broken down and irreparable, QPR would be getting rid of him anyways and that is understood to mean a payment of compensation with regards to what’s left of Cifuentes’s contract. We are known to do that (compensating managers while still contracted) re Critchley and Ainsworth when they were both sacked to make way for the new guy. QPR loves to pay especially for their mistakes time and time again, so the Cifuentes situation will be no different once they know they no longer want the manager. I think in Beale we made some money, how unlikeable he is nonetheless I am just speculating that the gardening leave is imposed so that Cifuentes, under the terms of the “sanction” cannot discuss, reveal or comment on anything that is relating to his role at QPR, so basically that is to shut him up and cocoon him. It might be a punishment (however stupid one might opine) but I think in this case the club is thinking legal. They have to pay him anyway to leave but to sack him (as he has done nothing legally wrong - agents talking to WBA notwithstanding) the club might have to pay more than to impose gardening leave (meaning here he could be doing the “wrong thing”) so club and Cifuentes sits out the gardening period once the new manager is sourced and in place, the compensation then gets paid. I might be totally talking bollocks but I think, rightly or wrongly, the club main priority is to protect the interest of QPR by imposing the gardening leave on Cifuentes. You could argue it was Nourry’s ego but I don’t think he has such a clout over the whole board including Ruben that the club would allow him to execute his own little vendetta Just my view, apologies if it is all rubbish! |

Was it Nourry’s company when he was consulting that scouted and recommended Cifuentes to the board? Apologies if I’m sprouting rubbish |

Ok, so that’s 10th for a minimum target this coming season, easy Some one tells the manager when he steps in through the door |

Looking for 3 teams to finish below us already, any promising candidates? Hope it is a lot more competitive at the top rather than the usual 3-4 suspects blowing away the league. Unlikely eh |

Has anyone thought that now he is back "full time" we may be paying more for his services? Perhaps having him work remotely is one way to cut some cost, but working off shore clearly didn't work Now we may be paying him more but not sure if he is any good cue the Brooklyn stint and his first season here might be attributed to luck as people here have you believed? |

The club has the list - but none in the list wants in? Marti has his list - but none of the club wants him? The position of Head Coach at Queens Park Rangers is still a very attractive role, if you ask me [Post edited 5 Jun 3:40]

Or play 11 goalkeepers instead? A few can venture upfield to create and score goals All 11 on the goal line trying to save a penalty Easy to play possession football passing around at the back That will boost the defence a lot and minimise injuries as they are not going to run a lot |

Is he a Premier League standard player? If so it is surprising no PL team came for him before. Only attraction is “free” / no fee? Most likely a back up right back for a PL team. If so, he will have limited playing time. The Turkish league is championship standard save with a few strong teams Galatasary, Fenerbahce and maybe Besiktas? |

It doesn’t stop him doing charity work in the community whether at Arsenal, Bayern, Real or anywhere else, IIRC he did when he was at QPR |

That’s precisely why a move would make sense 1. Won a trophy and club enters Europe competition, possible job done at palace so leaving on a high 2. Plenty clubs will be after him, think of Arsenal (someone said he is a fan), Real Madrid, Bayern Munich - all big big clubs bigger than spurs who missed out on league or champions league and more clubs like that 3. Still be able to play in Europe in any of those clubs mentioned above 4. Big money move that is a given 5. Prime of his career to go on bigger things than Palace (not to slight them) if not now, when? 6. Time to repay QPR for what we have done for him and still have (I made this up - but you know it is true) |

We are tearing at each other speculating is Kelman any good, why not ask the man himself - any QPR. Podcast or Clive here happy to do a one-on-one interview to see if the man himself is happy to stay? |

A win if the players step up and play for the departed manager A loss will just prove that the players checked out. We shouldn’t have lost 5-0 at home in the last home game of the season when the manager at that moment needed a win, mighty Burnley notwithstanding |
