I was sat behaving very well in the Bristol home end with five family members. Brother lives in Bristol and bought the tickets.

Utterly amazed at the sheer number of City fans that simply got up and left when Smyth scored - it is not a hard ground to get away from so zero excuse. Miserable bunch all around me.

Oxford Utd Reflection
at 22:41 1 Oct 2025

Yeah real nothing game really and one of those I'll have no memory of having been at in the future.

Dembele ball to near post first half that Kone arguably should have got to and the gorgeous ball from Madsen two of the only moments of genuine threat posed. Thought we'd lost it from the stupid free kick Varane gave away at the death.

Clean sheets not to be sniffed at but we'll have to be a lot better at Bristol at the weekend - though as I am with my brother in the home end I will have to act against my emotions.

Madsen on today's draw
at 20:11 28 Sep 2025

Likely to be entirely wrong as I am on many things but get the sense that the club may have told Madsen he is going to be the main man in midfield and they will be keeping him in there for an extended period. Has he played every minute of league games so far?

Really good to see him turning it around. Long may it continue.

Red Pitch— Anyone Seen This Play?
at 06:47 25 Sep 2025

I saw it during its initial run at Soho Place a year or two ago.

We really enjoyed it. The three actors were superb and brought a few kids from the audience onstage for a kickabout before the play started.

It was good to see it was a different crowd from what you often see at the west end- much more diverse and young people with experiences of the issues at the heart of the play.

Really well done and glad it has made the move to the US. I hope it is successful there.

Sutton in Morcambe
at 07:52 19 Sep 2025

Interesting taking a look at the Morecambe squad and how careers play out.

Former LFW match report fave Admiral Muskwe is there at only 27 having been a (not very good) part of the Luton side that went up. Ludwig Francilette who I was actually vaguely impressed with during his time at Crawley (localish side) seems to be there at 26 and Gwion Edwards who played a lot of champ footy for Ipswich is also there though at 32 so on the wind down.

Raheem Conte formerly of this manor also looking to build a career there.

Good luck to Emerson - look forward to following how he goes.

So, basically someone who can't rap or write lyrics but still wants to be a rapper?

Best thing about him was the jungle book song. Think his musical career peaked then.

Ricky Hatton RIP

I used to be a manager at a bar in Didsbury he frequented back at the height of his career and the ballooning periods. Absolutely top bloke and fighter but the way he went after the booze wasn't the normal appetite even back then.

A real loss for the sport and a sad end to a great life.

It's the NFL..again.

Looks like another long season of being terrible for the Giants alas. Other half of my American family are Bills fans so holding out hope this year is the one they get past the Chiefs roadblock.

Good to see it back on terrestrial with Channel 5 but god I hope they bin that gameshow format.

It was a great throw out to Dembele for our first goal in fairness.

Playing Walsh after the 7-1 defeat
at 09:11 31 Aug 2025

It will always be a long way back from him. People were getting on his back for not coming for balls he shouldn't have come for and did the right thing - so the anger and distrust towards him is slightly blinded already.

I have a new neighbour near me in the Lower School End who is just about the angriest man I have ever seen in my life. Huge neck tattoo, decked out in prime 'hoolie' gear and spent the whole second half incandescent with rage towards Walsh. He won't be winning him back over if we go on a run of 10 clean sheets from here.

Really agree with Norf's point, as often, that if we're going to bed him in it should have been gradually mid-season and phasing Nardi out after we had some points on the board and he was coming in to a more settled side. Too late for that alas.

Do you think Ronnie would sell us his hair so we can stick it on Steve Cook as a wig and pretend?

Did anyone predict the 7-1 defeat out of interest Clive?

This is one of those I'll refuse to believe until he's on the offish waving his scarf. My heart can't take it.

On the we're stacked front, for me:

JCS isn't a going concern anymore. An expensive gamble and renewal.

Cook looks gone to me and most after the winter injury. A shame, a great player and pro. Likely only up to shoring things up if we are ever winning a game again.

Morrison- quality player but long term fitness unknown.

Dunne - is going to be a RB now realistically

Mbengue- looks great fun but unknown. Pace ideal alongside others.

Edwards is, IMHO, a better CB than the others and a decent midfielder too from what we have seen. Bit of a Jack Cork about him or Jack Stephens. Maybe the club feel he can improve both areas we lack in?

I reckon Alan Browne would be a superb addition to the squad - exactly the profile of midfield I think we need.

The QPR summer transfer rumours thread
at 10:29 23 Aug 2025

I am still dreaming about that cross he put in last week similarly - felt Kone really should have got on the end of that but understandable in his first game.

We were being linked with all sorts of midfielders from Ligues 1 and 2 in France over the summer that I had never heard of but everything has gone quiet on that front. Lewis Bate looks a handy player at Stockport, is a Londoner and was in the League One team of the season last year but might cost a fair whack - potentially a little on the light side too.

Fingers crossed we pull something out of the bag in midfield!

Half decent tv
at 11:46 22 Aug 2025

I am really hoping the King & Conqueror lives up to the incredible story of 1066. Think all episodes come out on Sunday. Huge nerd for historical drama, believe they've taken a few liberties with the story but what a story it is.

Not sure there has ever been a large scale tv telling of it before?

£7.8m or thereabouts is none too shabby - suppose we might get another £1m from the add-ons.

Agree we need to put a good amount in it towards future financial fair play unless the rumours of this being diluted are true...

A couple of mill on a midfielder with legs and carry wouldn't go amiss. Hope it isn't spent on a loan deal for some Prem starlet or the Iroegbunam rumours.

Some of it will go towards offsetting costs am sure but Nourry is hardly going to state in a public forum that we are going to invest our windfall in new players - immediately adding a million and a few grand a week to clubs and agents thinking processes when we come calling.

If we can invest in an LB and extra CM I will be pleased - especially as we have spent big money for us on Burrell and Kone this summer. Really like the look of Esquardinha so happy enough with a LB loan so we can keep developing him.
