 | News Comment | Southampton V Aston Villa The Verdict at 14:07:44
To be fair, we at least had a game plan, which was to get men behind the ball and defend. But if you set up like this you must have an outlet up front, someone to hold the ball up. We had nothing. Tall Pall was so deep at times he was defending our box! He can go in the summer, he's a cart horse, far too slow. When Stewart came on he put himself about a bit and he's far more mobile for a tall no 9. I'd start him next game and see if he can last 60 mins. I was impressed with Robinson's camio, he looked positive on the ball. |

Downes was arguably MoTM (KWP aside). As soon as he was taken off, it significantly weaken our midfield and with Lesley off, our control of the centre started to slip and with 8 minutes of extra time, it wasn't a surprise pressure told. Disappointed to drop points, but a far better performance from Saints. |
 | News Comment | Adam Armstrong Leaves For West Bromwich Albion On Loan at 21:56:39
A good end to the season scoring a few goals in The Championship for West Brom means we can command more for Arma in the summer when we sell him. Duric is building his own team. Yes not backed this window but let's be realistic, big signings were never coming in January with where we are currently. |
 | News Comment | Southampton At Nottingham Forest The Verdict at 13:39:15
I didn't understand why Juric needed to change the 11. With Dibling out, he should have just brought Archer in on the right as his replacement. Sulamana had his best game for Saints midweek so why drop him to the bench. Juric has claimed it is to protect a player due to having time out of the side. I get that, but start him and then sub him if levels drop. Similarly, Ugochukwu dropped to the bench for Downes yesterday, which flys in the face of what we saw midweek from both players. Manning has been one of our better players yet can't hold a place in the starting 11. As for Ramsdale, if next season Bazuna had that game (two goals let in from out side the box and juggling the ball into his own net), there'd be a lunch mob online for him. Now don't get me wrong, Ramsdale is top draw and clearly a No 1,but the mistakes at the back are now infectious this season. THB midweek Janny B yesterday, the list goes on. I'm just looking forward to the Burnley FA Cup game now and The Championship next season! |

I thought Fernandes was head and so holders the best player out there. Sulamana did well and showed lots of energy, but his shooting was pretty erratic other than the lob for his goal. Credit where credit is due though. I thought the atmosphere was pretty good from those of us there. All the talk pre match in the days leading up to it was so negative but it was a good night at St Marys abet against a poor Championship side. A home tie vs Burnley is good, as it will give us a tougher challenge and sense of where we are for next season. |

Decent first half but when you waste so many good chances you know what will happen! The second half was poor and we ran out of ideas. Our substitutions were not great either. How Kamaldeen Sulamana gets on the pitch (at all!) ahead of Archer is just baffling. Archer should start anyway in place of Armstrong let alone sit on the bench for the entire game. He's our best finisher. Overall though the high press high tempo style is more exciting to watch so we'll no doubt see some more points on the board soon but it's all too late unless there's a miracle! |
 | News Comment | Bella-Kotchap Speaks About Southampton Future at 08:54:32
Move on. Nathan Wood has shown more in three games than I've seen from ABK in 3 years. If ABK plays, I'll support him, but how / why should he play in front of Woods, THB or Janny B. |
 | News Comment | Southampton FC Sack Russell Martin at 13:02:39
I've seen a lot of vitriolic comments all over the Internet about Russell Martin but little acknowledgement of what he did for this club. Yes he had to go and yes maybe it should have happened a few weeks ago but we should also reflect on what we've seen in the last 12 months as supporters. I for one will always remember that incredible 25 game unbeaten run. That unreal night at St Marys in the Playoff semi final vs West Brom where the team delivered for us in that atmosphere to give us what was probably the best night St Marys has ever seen. And then there was The Championship final, which is one of the best, if not the best day I've had as a Saints fan for 40 years. Yes time was up, but thank you Russ for some great times. |
 | News Comment | Southampton Planning To Keep Faith With Russell Martin But Why ! at 13:39:02
At some point you have to stop sacking managers as the expense of paying contracts is astronomical. Fans seem to forget this. I'd be more concerned with our the deadwood players we've wasted millions on. Getting ride of one guy, the manager, is not always the solution. It's player recruiting that's crippling us. Martin is not without his flaws but I really think we just have too many players not good enough for this level. Save the money we'd lose sacking Martin. Sell in January as many deadwood players as we can and build again for The Championship. |
