Cheers LD.

We've had ours back just after I posted that, but I'm not sure we'll be looking to renew at a 40% increase....

Surely £500+VAT isn't right?

Haven't seen this confirmed by the club anywhere and haven't had my shirt back yet either.

Night out in Manchester
at 11:58 11 Oct 2018

Sir Ralph Abercromby is a great pub, loads of ale choices too, always got some form of sport on the tele. Nice dukebox full of 80/90s.

It's right behind Albert Schloss which has plenty of women.

Topkapi at the end of the road for a kebab later on.

I didn't think Gillam played particularly badly last night, albeit he didn’t set the world alight and could have taken his chance. He was brought on because Humphrys couldn’t and clearly didn’t want to track his man, he looked nackered after about 30 — whereas Gillam would offer a better workrate.

I agree with Davies, but our bench isn’t the strongest and I’m not sure who else he could’ve brought on to replace Calv (who worked his arse off IMO).

Genuinely baffled that people think bringing Raff on for Kitching was a bad substitution.

Kitching couldn’t trap a bag of cement in the first half, constantly misplaced passes that he tried (that’s when he wasn’t hopelessly hoofing it up to no one).

Raff broke up their play nicely, his position was disciplined which allowed Rathbone and Camps to press on.

Plymouth’s first half performance was probably the best I’ve seen anyone play at Spotland all season, both subs and change of tactics helped stop them doing the same to us in the 2nd half. If you can’t see that the changes Hill made helped us then there’s no helping you.

Not when you regularly misjudge the flight of the ball.

Good in the air defensively?

When?

Attacks the ball instead of marking his man and gives them a free header.

I don't get why there's an issue, what's the fan supposed to do?

Put his child down and leave him unattended? I don't think so...

Ironically, the only time I could hear the Sandy Lane sing on Saturday was when they were singing "F*ck Off".

Fair play to the club for trying it out.

Should be fine, get to the ticket office before the game. You will probably have to pay a few quid extra as an upgrade.

Surely the aim of a football club is to win as much as possible and not just take part?

Fully agree with this KB, but unfortunatley this will never get addressed by the club.

Improvements for 2015/2016 Football Season at Fortress Spotland
at 13:20 29 Apr 2015

Sounds very simple, but we need more people through the gates watching the games.

I was thinking about this last night, with the new Commercial Manager starting, is she going to be responsible for all sponsorship activities (e.g. filling the boxes on a match day) as well as getting more people through the door?

I'd imagine she would gain commission for filling boxes but would she have something similar for increasing the average home attendance?

It sounds simple, but get somebody in Rochdale town centre talking to the general public, not necessarily Dale fans, and asking them their thoughts on the club?
Give out some free tickets to get people through the gates for the first time and make sure they are impressed so they come back and hopefully bring a mate or two.
Get in the schools and give free tickets out to all the kids if they bring a paying adult, get them hooked!
Get us on the front page of the Observer!

The main issue with low attendances is due to us being perceived as "little old Rochdale", where the majority of our town will still think we are fighting for relegation from League 2! Which can be changed over time if somebody goes out of their way to do that.

From what I know, none of the above was done by Ian Johnstone. His role was solely based on filling the boxes and obtaining sponsorships - nothing fan based.

Surely bring somebody in alongside Frances to help her out, this is more than a one man (or woman) job!

Edit: Maybe also take a look on this board now and then!

Already emailed the club about this, mentioning my sales/marketing background etc etc.

From the reply I gather Ian is the only person in this type of position in the club, with no plans to increase numbers.
