The Official Leeds United vs Swansea City Match Thread
at 10:10 30 Aug 2019

Routledge was superb the other night against Cambridge. Should something like this be our front four tomorrow, perhaps with Routledge subbed off at the 60 min. mark or so for a winger with Celina taking over in AM?

----------Borja---------- (striker)
----Celina------Ayew-- (wingers)
-------Routledge------- (AM)

4 pts would be a decent return considering what we already have at this point, but if we get something at Leeds, it’d suddenly be a bit disappointing to ‘only’ get 1-3 pts from Forest and Bristol the way we’ve been playing. I guess this run can’t go on forever, but I can see us getting 5-7 from the next 3.

Why is Ollie there then? I thought it was a different Rangers he supported.

(SSN) It’s official: Brighton confirm Potter
at 17:32 20 May 2019

“We spoke to Graham in length over the request. These discussions included the offer of a new, improved contract and certain assurances regarding future squad strengthening. These assurances would have had to sit within our current financial budget, but we were confident that by working together we could build on the excellent progress the team made last season. Unfortunately, following those amicable discussions, Graham expressed a desire to challenge himself in the Premier League and we reluctantly allowed him to speak to Brighton after agreeing a compensation package."

If that bit is true, then it doesn't sound like there were any nasty surprises - in fact, the club seems to be in a better overall state than during the last transfer window - so I have to say I'm really disappointed in Potter for leaving us in the dung like this for a shortcut to the big time. He MUST know that him leaving, along with his staff and not inconceivably a couple of our best young players, is likely to hurt the club badly, also because those players staying behind will have had their hearts broken by his departure.

His move is disloyal and self-indulgent and I have to say I hope it goes disastrously with him either taking Brighton down or getting the sack before he gets the chance to. Doubt either of these will happen, though, as he is of course a very decent manager.

Nope, you've got the wrong Dane - or perhaps you've got the name wrong? Were you stood by a Danish Swans fan at Blackburn by any chance?

Told them they were in a pub in Copenhagen, some 800 miles from North London, and to get a grip, basically.

Then a nice Welshwoman who was in there bought me and my mate a pint for being the only two people in the pub supporting the team from her home country - she wasn't a Swans fan as such.

There's an 'Arsenal pub' here as well, Southern Cross, where I was once aggressively surrounded and told to leave by a bunch of Danish hard Gooner wannabees for celebrating a winning Swans goal. It was the Arse game under Carvalhal when we beat them 3-1. I was delighted, as we seemed to have turned a corner after also beating Liverpool the previous week and suddenly looked to be in with a chance of staying up.

I mean, I'm a Danish glory-hunting Swans fan myself, but I have a sense of perspective about it and don't pretend to be something I'm not. And probably unlike most of them, I've actually been to see the Swans many times, home and away, most recently at Blackburn on the weekend.

Anyway! ... what are you doing in town, Prof?

Think Pencoed is right. I was there and I'd say it was definitely directed at us, as a taunt, in response to most of our lot joining in with the applause. Preferred respectful silence myself.

Cheers for the link, Steve. Been regularly checking eBay, plus some of the other more obvious places on the web, hoping the shirt would've appeared, but that site seems like my best bet.

Looking for 07-08 black/green away shirt
at 00:43 26 Jan 2019

With us playing Gillingham tomorrow, this seems like an appropriate time to ask this question, which I've wanted to do for a while:

Does anyone know of somewhere, online or in 'real life', where I might be able to get my hands on the 07-08 away shirt with the black and green stripes as worn when we won promotion that season at, yup, Gills... ?

Cheers if anyone's got any tips!

Oh, and I'm a size L/XL, in case anyone on here is selling.

Not really, but 'Swaawnsea' was pretty easy to get. ;) Carlos has mentioned us a couple of times now as well, hopefully in a complimentary way.

Watching it in Portugal. One of the commentators mentioned that Roberto's managed us. The other commentator's 'our' Carlos!

Ticket question - urgently need reply

Nope, never have, but then I've been buying tickets on GS the last many years, and thought maybe it'd be different when tickets were bought through JA memberships. Guess I was worrying over nothing, though, which is typical me, really.

Thanks for your reply.

Thanks for your answer, STID.

So basically, what you're saying is that if they were to check anyone's ID, it'd be the main purchaser's, i.e. me? That'd be fine, as I'll be buying the tickets through my own JA membership but with my mate's linked for my father-in-law's ticket.

Definitely won't be asked at the turnstile to prove he's the person whose membership was linked to buy the second ticket?

Ticket question - urgently need reply
at 01:17 17 Jul 2017

I'm a Jack Army member but not a season ticket holder. I have a mate who's the same (JA member but not ST holder). I want to take my father-in-law to the Newcastle home game in Sep. and my mate's letting me use his JA membership to buy my father-in-law's ticket. But I'm worried my father-in-law will have to show ID/otherwise prove he's the person whose membership was used to purchase his ticket. Any need for me to be, or will it be fine?

Just want to make completely sure, as I don't want to let him down, and the urgency is because tickets for non-ST-holding JA-members go on sale tomorrow morning.

Cheers!
