I've always thought they should do limited editions for the local pubs. 500 each with the name of the pub on the sleeve. Probably unwise on a number of levels, but I'd show my support |

Wait, I don't think we use them for any services? They're not a Point of Sale provider as far as I know. They offer electronic money accounts, so, basically a bank but more like a digital pre paid card. You top up your wallet and then you can make payments from a digital card they issue. Looks like they might have either breached some safeguarding rules (keep your money separate from their business accounts) or run into liquidity issues (run out of money). Sorry for the boring post. I work in payments though. Opened a guavapay account so I could get a digital QPR card... Never used it though because the app wasn't very slick... |

Guava Pay forced to cease continuing any transactions by the FCA (I think, that's not confirmed by them, but reading between the lines.) They were our sleeve sponsor last year. Not sure if they still are? |
 | Forum Reply | Julien Stéphan talks dreams, transfers, and that Coventry game – Interview at 09:45 11 Sep 2025
Yeah, agreed on that answer - he comes across well, and I honestly think that saying "it was my decision" is him taking ownership of what happened, even if it wasn't actually his decision. Think that speaks very well of him as a person and leader in my opinion. Also, very impressed with how much his English has come on, to come across that well in your second language is incredibly difficult, but you can hear that he's a charismatic person and can build connections with players. Overall, very impressed, and thank you Clive for getting this interview. |

What's going on? It doesn't look like they've done too much aerobic work? So they've not done enough? Unless I'm mistaken I don't remember this from last season, but they were definitely all absolutely knackered after 45 minutes two seasons ago. Is this by design? I don't recall seeing other teams do this, and it's mostly empirical evidence but I don't think this is stopping muscle injuries? |

This talk of another year for Frey seems odd as well given we're doing all this other business. Unless it's to spread out his wages over a couple of years instead of one, and he just absolutely loves being around the place? Would be mad, but then he is mad. |

Know very little about Kone, but he looks very good on the YouTube video I just watched. Far too good for League One anyway. I guess that's why there were bids from much higher up? And seemingly some work permit issues from way back. But, yeah, seems to be both footed, quick, strong and good in the air... He doesn't sound like an Oakland A... |

It's in our DNA. Mark Hately. Taylor Richards injured himself during a medical for Birmingham - passed ours and is often injured. Charlie Austin, I believe, failed a medical at I think Hull, before we signed him. Obviously this one turned out well. I know for a fact that we've signed players with knee injuries who then didn't actually go on to play for us. Not entirely sure we're worse than other clubs - perhaps it's in the risk profile to try and sign players who're a bit more injury prone but are 'better' - but I don't really pay much attention to other clubs. Anyway, based off the one YouTube 'highlights' compilation, this Ba lad is useless. |
 | Forum Reply | Couple of early StephanBall observations/musings/kneejerks at 10:12 11 Aug 2025
A couple of other musings: 1. Esquerdinha, not a bad footballer, but has someway to go to be a defender in this league. Much more comfortable on the ball than without it. In the first half, this seemed pretty good, as he was constantly on the ball. Second half, not so much. When anyone was running at him, he wasn't so hot. A few rash tackles (I don't mind this, shows he's got it in him) and he needs a lot of help to know where to stand - I am not a fan of him as last man from corners. On the ball, liked him. Seemed up for it. Few times where Chair makes a run off, then runs in behind where the channel ball didn't come from him and Chair let him know. Definitely seemed a pattern that they'd been working on - and you can see some of that on the 'Inside Training' Youtube stuff. 2. Madsen as the deep lying ball player was pretty good I thought. Reminded me a fair bit of Faurlin. He knows how to open his body up to take his first touch to a place where he can play the ball on, or he knows where someone will be so can play a nice looking sweeping pass. One of the few people we have who can do that. But, I think when we play him there, we obviously lose some defensive solidity, as like Faurlin, people just run off the back of him, as they're both more the sort of player to block a passing lane than be able to spring out and make the tackle. And we lose the bits that Field is good at. I actually thought that maybe we were playing Field centre back and Mbengue right back when I saw the lineup. But, that brings me to 3. Morgan at right back - thought this was really good actually. They'd clearly wanted him to step into midfield and he's almost perfectly suited to that. With the starting positions of everyone essentially a 4-2-4 with the wingers and Chair pushed really high, it gave the full backs loads of room to step up. He's technically strong, and thought it could well be an interesting position for him going forward. Absolutely no idea how that works with Jimmy Dunne in the same position, but variety is the spice of life. 4. Celar - didn't hate him as much as others around me. I thought he was willing, made good runs to create space for others, and he even had a really good little moment in the first half when he received the ball in their box, kept it under really tight control, but couldn't twist himself to get a shot away, and then had to set it back to someone else who didn't get a shot away either. He won a few flicks first half, but after the nadir where instead of running onto a ball where I think he was clean through but he headed it straight up in the air. Thought he tired more than most, which is maybe the only one that would make sense given his lack of pre-season minutes. 5. Fitness - are we either loading them too much so they're already wiped out and don't have the legs, or we're under loading them so they're not yet ready for 90 minutes but means 'less' injuries long term. Either way, it doesn't seem to be right? The legs were so heavy so quickly in the second half - that's either due to the conditioning or are we saying they got super nervous after we conceded that goal? There was a few moments early on in the second half when they got Morgan running back towards our goal and he was running in slow motion. Nervous energy? Heat? New system? Dunno - needs work though, Poku looked done to me based on his reaction and the fact that he could walk off the way he did. That's a hamstring. Dembele will need some rest after that cramp. Chair and Madsen seemed the only ones moving about okay throughout the whole match. Chair in particular seemed very fit. Most of this is coloured from sitting in Ellerslie closer to their fans so think I probably play closer attention to the side of the pitch closest to me |

It really was. Ref spent most of the time just guessing at which way something would go, but seemed absolutely dead set on clamping down on a throw on not been taken from where he thought it should be taken from. Absolute joyless pr1ck. Him and that one linesman who was making a whole song and dance of being in line with the last man, but spending all his efforts on doing that rather than actually getting any decisions correct. Took my 7-year old to his first game since he's gotten obsessed with football. Have told him he's allowed to call the referee a b*stard, but he's too much of a rule follower to do it. |

Yeah, pretty much how I saw it. Decent first half, if let down by some last third decision making, but just felt promising and that sort of thing needs more time. But how quickly we turned soft when they put us under the slightest pressure. I thought they looked terrible.. Which is why there's perhaps some of the reaction on here. If we can't beat that, then this is going to be a long season. Again |
 | Forum Thread | Throw ons at 19:01 9 Aug 2025
Lads, they happen a lot. Do you think you could all maybe have a think about what we should do with them when we get one instead of all just standing about waiting for someone else to do something? Honestly, I've been telling my pals that we are historically the worst at throw ins, but just haven't had any stats to back it up. Today was even worse than usual |
 | Forum Reply | Yang coming back? at 20:55 29 Jul 2025
Thing is, I don't think we paid them last time. My guess is they paid us to do it, with a bonus for making appearances. Paying a club to take someone on loan is a thing that happens. Often to much lower level teams, mind. |

Lovely article. Awaydays is my favourite feature. I wish I had been able to go. Beans can get in the sea. Fanbase getting fractured again through weird little groups popping up peddling an odd party line and accusations of being disloyal and not sticking together. Odd people. Nourry is 27. I also thought I knew a lot when I was 27. |
 | Forum Reply | Nourry interview at 15:37 26 Jul 2025
Think I thought I knew a lot when I was 27 as well. Guy gives the impression that everything we are doing is revolutionary. We are marginally better run, but that only seems to be because the owners are far more hands off. Just |

Christmas. Those highlights are pretty bad. Imagine having to put that together. Reminds me a lot of Sebastian Polter. Loved that guy. Touch like a wheely bin |
