The ref had a shocker in that Ipswich v Derby game. Ipswich had a nailed on pen not given against George Hirst (who got booked for diving) and he also some how managed to miss Lewis Travis stamp on someone's chest! http://x.com/ChampionshpTalk/status/1961853800286695914?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctw

Have you ever caught the ball at a game?
at 11:03 1 Sep 2025

I remember my dad catching a ball and throwing it back to a player taking a throw-in during a Crystal Palace v Norwich city game in the 90s. He's was a London based Norwich city fan and would always get us tickets in the home ends of various London clubs (which is how I came to support QPR), as it was hard to get away end tickets during Norwich's purple patch during this period. So when his well aimed throw to a Crystal Palace FB led to a quick throw-in, which in turn led to a goal he was getting pats on the back and handshakes from all the Palace fans aound him and he had to pretend to be happy about setting up a player to score against his side! 9 year old me found it hilarious.

We Got A Live One

He was never going to say 'Nourry helps me pick the side' was he?! Tbf to him it's not really the people hes picking (Plymouth aside which was ridiculous) thats the major issue for me. It's the way they're being asked to play which annoys me more and the lack of fitness. Maybe asking him whether this style is his idea, or the clubs would've been a better question and given him the chance to anwser a bit more openly. Maybe not though! I don't think hes come across from managing some decent teams in France's top league to a side constantly battling relegation in England's 2nd tier for someone to tell him what team to pick. From listening to what others said about him on Clives pod he can be a very stubborn and strong willed guy, so I don't think I really buy in to this stuff about him not being to pick who he wants. Time will tell though I guess we're only 4 games in. As plenty of others have said tomorrow's team selection is important, but the way they play is even more vital.

Teams called Rangers losing 5-0 by half time

Definitely going to be our next manager isn't he. I love the post match quote of 'I don't think we'll lose 6-0 again' lol I wouldn't be so sure Russell

Coventry City 7 Queens Park Rangers 1 – Report
at 10:09 26 Aug 2025

Great report Jamie, that can't have been easy to write about. Ive been fuming over it for days, these are the results that really hurt and live long in the memory for all the wrong reasons. If we ever win 7-1 (a big If) you should get first dibs on that report! lol

Clive - I just wanted to know that I found this site way back in late 2004 or 2005, when I should've been writing a essay in a dark computer room at Kingston University! Your writing and passion for QPR has been the main reason I have been coming back at least twice a week ever since. Your dedication to this site along with your honest and funny writing style is commendable and you should be proud of that. As ever, I look forward to your next preview-ish and report, once you've had a well earnt rest from writing about one of the most fustrating yet amazing clubs in the land!

Recruitment ?
at 22:46 24 Aug 2025

Belk is lucky to still be in the job imo, but its certainly not all his fault. The transfer strategy has been non-existent due to the confusing hierarchys that have existed here over the past 7 years (and longer). Its been very difficult to identify one team/person who definitively signs the players. Hence the lack of a cohesive team and squad. I personally think this club desperately needs a Steve Gallen or Dean Austin type of Director of Football who know the English game and have a wealth of experience of building scouting and recruitment teams who pull in one direction to build a team of players who can showcase their strengths on modest budgets. To me as a fan looking from the outside, our club currently has a 27 y/o who talks a good game but cant back it up and bloke in a computer room in charge of this stuff. But we've been losing 5, 6 and 7-1 before they both got here so it's not all on them either. It's a continous culture of failure set by owners who don't really know how to hire the right people or set clear structures.

Is anyone really suprised
at 13:30 24 Aug 2025

No not massively surprised tbh just hurt and embarrassed yet again. This kind of result has been happening on a semi regular basis for about 8-10 years now. Newcastle, WBA, Norwich, Fulham, Watford, Burnley, even f*cking Blackpool had a go! and now Coventry. The list of embarrassing results goes on and on against sides we shouldn't necessarily be beating but not totally capitulating against. Its pathetic.

Eze
at 10:15 21 Aug 2025

After all of this excitement and discussion, we'll probably end up announcing that Palace bought out the sell on % a year ago, so we could buy Zan Celar and Madsen.

This seems like a postive sign. My mate who supports Spurs says this guy tends to be a pretty reliable source on Tottenham.

How much for Saito?
at 10:03 15 Aug 2025

Yeah, not much more than 2 mil for me. He's in the 'nice to have' category. I'd rather see us continue with the more height, power and pace theme of our buys this summer than get Saito, we need a LB and CM way more than another small wide player. If Birmingham are interested that probably prices us out of it anyway i'd have thought, unless Spurs or Arsenal finally make an Eze bid today!

Walsh v Nardi
at 06:54 13 Aug 2025

Definitely saw the best and worst of Nardi last night. First half he was brilliant and was integral to getting us to HT with a 2 goal lead which we didn't really deserve on the balance of play. 2nd half, his weakness on crosses were clearly evident again. I think Nardi is still better than Walsh mainly because hes way more capable with the ball at his feet and he can make that risky short goal kick routine (which we seem hellbent on playing everytime) work a lot better than Walsh, who looked terrified and way out of his depth when he had to do it against Preston. Plus I think better CBs can help Nardi more with his weakness on crosses. If only Nardi had Walsh's height and catching ability we'd actually have a very decent Championship GK then! Walsh will probably get another chance against Watford though I'd imagine, as he hasnt made a significant mistake that has cost us yet. I just don't get how he's going to significantly improve his distribution from the floor in such a short space of time. Reminds me a bit of when Lumley was asked to do the same.

Knob End Match Fred
at 18:37 9 Aug 2025

Really not sure about Walsh in goal. Getting a few Lumley vibes already tbh. He's not comfortable enough with the ball at his feet unfortunately and that seems to be the way we want to play again. I'm not sure what we were expecting hes not really played any regular football...ever, at any professional level. Its unfair to throw him in at Championship level and expect him to do the business, get Nardi back in there and loan walsh out. I just dont get the thinking. Double unfortunately the back 4 still can't really play out from the back either. There was nice stuff on the occasions we did past the halfway line though. Some of the training patterns of play were clearly coming through in the game. Not sure we'll play too many teams as bad as Preston though and that's the worry. Hopefully there's one two more deals to be done.

Pretty nice kit, I like the checkered pattern on the blue. I'm not sure about having 'Xtra maintenance' stamped just above my arse though. Despite that statement being more true with every passing year.
