 | News Comment | Sport Republic Can Be A Big Success For Southampton Says Spors at 14:50:38
"Regarded as one of the best and most prolific attacking central defenders of all time, due to his eye for goal, Koeman was renowned for his long-range passing, as well as his shooting accuracy and power from distance, especially on free kicks; he is the top scoring defender in world football" Wikipeia description of Ronald koeman. We need o find anoter dynamic inspirational manager to lead us forward. Hardly the best description of Ivan Juric!! |
 | News Comment | Southampton Considering Alternative To Danny Rohl at 13:03:50
third time l ucky! Wouldn't it be nice if there was a promising young British manager somewhere - already with some proven ability to manage and not related to Russell Martin or Lucy Pinder, , who actually WANTED to come to St Marys! I get the feeling that Rohl and Rosenior are just the first of a whole catalogue of would be bosses most of whom would probably prefer to be someshere else and as far as possible from Sports Republic. We are genuinely up the creek without a paddle with te clown Juric determind to see off all contenders. |

 | News Comment | Southampton V Wolverhampton Wanderers The Verdict at 10:11:57
Would Sportsq Republic care to comment on the total mess that they have created and perhaps own up to who was the idiot that identified Ivan the Terrible as Russell Martin's successor? This sad pathetic creature inspires no one at St Marys so why is he here in the first place? It really is pointless comenting on any match as the script could be written before a ball is kicked. Team selections an substitutionsq are those of a clown or more exactly a madman. Not only are we a distance behind Bournemouth football club, but soon Pompey will be in a higher league position than us. Its embarrassing and humiliating. Sports Republic clearly have no perception of how to build a successful Premier League football team and does anybosy want to witness the sight of Juric on the St Marys touchline ever again? Make the change now and maybe restore a little pride before the end of the worst season in living memory! |
 | News Comment | Former Saints Striker Could Be Coming Home ! at 16:15:55
Danny Ings has never been adequately replaced after falling out with Ralph H; When he was fit he was a great asset to the club and has ben badly missed; If he was to return his wage demands would be significant and there would always be a question mark about his ability to stay fit and free from injury; Nextwe shall be hearing that Ward Prowse is coming back. Neither Ings nor Ward prowse have ever been effectively replaced and the club could do far worse than bring bioth of them back! We dont seem to have any Acadmy players worthy of the position and the forward we do have would be best served by being given a chance to play in Divisions 1 or 2.. mind you the way we are going tat could be us in another season's time; |
 | News Comment | Southampton At Chelsea The Verdict at 11:20:28
I think we all wondered what Sports Republic had seen in our new manager to bring him here with his pretty mediocre reputation. I imagine a fair few preferred choices for manager turned us down. However it is clear that Sports Republic's judgement has been pathetic and has failed our football club - we are now seen by one and by all as a laughing stock in the world of football. Irrespective of the terms of his contract Juric should be sacked immediately and a replacement installed. I suggest we invite Steve Cooper to restore some soccer sanity into the way we line up and play. |
 | News Comment | Juric Gives Reason For Albert Gronbaek Absence ! Why Sign Him Then at 14:09:59
It was only last weekend that Nick suggested that the Brighton fixture on Saturday was 'winnable'!! Now we have our central defenders getting injured and a lunatic in charge. How can any game be regarded as 'winnable' with the Club in total chaos. If Gronbaek, and a number of others are to achieve anything at Saints, it will be with an English manager who can organise and understand how to get the best out of a pretty poor squad. The Brighton result could have easily been 0-10 - we are that bad under Juric. We missed out on Potter so perhaps Steve Cooper could be brought in immediately. Just one more week with Juric represents total insanity. |
 | News Comment | Southampton V Brighton The Verdict at 13:06:10
When the team selection was announced we all knew we would be humiliated and brushed aside. Clearly Juric is another guy way out of his depth. I have frequently expressed my condemnation of RM and it is interesting to see that Martin's hero - Pep Guardiola - is finding that the old possession style football played by City is not working there any more either. Teams are playing through a more direct route to go and playing this way you also need the type of players to make it work. The starting eleven yesterday proved that Juric cant even make sound use of the poor squad he inherited. We are a poor team but not as POOR as we were yesterday. We had the chance earlier in the year to appoint an experienced English manager - maybe Moyes, Potter orSteve Cooper would have done the job. Now its all too late. We are a joke of a team - a complete laughing stock. Sports Republic must act now and at least find a way to give our fans and it seems our players, a ray of hope. Right now - there is none. |
 | News Comment | Ivan Juric Got One Thing Right At The Weekend With Will Smallbone at 11:06:25
The whole set up against Bournemouth was wrong with the three biggest mistakes playing Bree at Centre Back, Keeping Dibling on the bench and selecting a virtually spineless midfield. The manager has been here two months and claims to have known a lot about the Saints players BEFORE he became manager. Smallbone was targeted because Juric placed him in a hopeless situation that he could never have coped with. So in the end Smallbone unfortunately took the boos for Juric. Far from attacking the fans Juric could simply admit that once again it was I the manager that made the mistakes. It is becoming a common theme and I doubt if there are many fans left who have any confidence or even just a small ray of hope in Juric. |
 | News Comment | Are Things Far From Ok In The Southampton Camp ? at 19:10:28
I cant see any likelihood of an imminent change in ownership as a return to the Championship will most probably suit Sports republic. What irks me even more is that I read that Juric knew the Saints players capabilities well as he said he had watched the team many times before arriving here. His previous record as a manager is also nothing to write home about so once again - as with Russell Martin- you need to ask Sports Republic WHY Juric? There were some good home bred managers available at the time so I have to assume the likes of Moyes and Potter were not interested. Lowly Plymouth seem to have come up trumps after disposing of the useless Rooney. I wonder if Steve Cooper would have been a much better bet fit for us to bring in with the season almost half way through.? Lets be honest, Sports Republic have made some terrible decisions and choices and the main protests should be aimed at them. |
 | News Comment | Southampton V Burnley The FA Cup Verdict at 14:41:16
It was very gracious of Burnley to put out their reserve team so we could see just how low our standards have dropped. The manager is a hopeless case and another waste of space and time. Sulemana cant score a goal to save his life and Dibling is not used to best effect. Its now not only a question of can we win another point or two before the end of the season, but also do you think that there is any possibility of ever scoring another goal? Where on earth did Sports Republic get this clown of a manager from? The players are poor enough without having to be made to look even worse by a complete hopeless case of a manager. How do Sports republic do it? Where did they dig Juric up from? Our hopes for any success this season are now zero - but what is worse, between them SR and the new manager are leaving us with a below average team to perform in the Championship next year. |
 | News Comment | Southampton Sign Victor Udoh at 16:59:40
Sorry codge meant to vote you up It would seem that Dell1964 disagrees with one and all - any chance my friend of you giving us your viewpoint on the current situation at St Marys? |
 | News Comment | Sulemana Linked To French Club at 16:10:15
Yes give Sulemana away closely followed by Paul Onuacho - send Ballard out on loan and then Armstrong can back in the team! There's no other way. I thought we were looking to buy forwards not give what little we have left awayBut this Southampton FC - give folk something else to mock the Club for. |
 | News Comment | Southampton V Newcastle United The Verdict at 12:12:01
In full agreement with everything Nick and Saintmark writes. There were key positions that needed filling last summer. As you say there is no leader, and as I have pointed out many times Bednarek and Harwood drift into the opponents penalty area looking to score goals, leaving the great gaps behind them and the opportunity for the opposition to break quickly and effectively. Its hard to blame these guys - because nobody else is going to score! Presumably Ross Stewart was Sports Republic's offering as our much needed centre forward - it was a gamble we were not entitled to take and it has failed us miserably.. Russell Martin ignored Sulemana because he wouldn't play the possession football required. That leaves us with the likes of Adam Armstrong, who some may feel sorry for, but he will never be Premier League class. Dibling was bound to get injured at some stage, so thats the forwards gone! Sports Republic were all smiles as we achieved our promotion from the Championship. However our squad needed leadership, experience, a couple of goal scorers on the end of good crosses and more quality all-round. The new boss may not be the answer - how many times at the start of the season did I shout Graham Potter!!! And as for Russell Martin who 'loved' the likes of Armstrong, Stephens and Smallbone for goodness sake, we were always doomed from the start! The transfer break is nearly at an end and nobody at SR has even identified our areas of weakness. Looking at our bench against Newcastle how could any manager look at the players there and think that they can save us? Yes the players often 'stick at it' but sadly the results and League table say it all - they are just not good enough. |
 | News Comment | Southampton Said To Have made Decision On Tyler Dibling's Transfer at 17:38:04
Spot on Colburn. I'm sure Tyler is a good lad and aware that there will be many disappointed fans when he leaves. Maybe if our management had achieved just half the progress that Bournemouth have done in putting together a Premier League standard squad, , he might have been persuaded to stay a little longer.. If he stays here he will be learning his trade with a few talented team mates but mostly an overlarge collection of Championship hopefuls. Anyway we have so many forwards Sports republic will probably trade for another couple of full backs!!! |
 | News Comment | Southampton Complete Loan Signing Of Midfielder at 01:28:00
Yes makes some sort of sense but with Dibling out and Armstrong out of his depth one can only hope that behind the scenes an experienced striker is well into negotiations with the Club. Sulemana has improved given the opportunity at last, but 'Big' Paul is most probably not the answer. Still SR know best! |
 | News Comment | New Saints Director Of Football Denied Work Permit at 12:44:29
Saints themselves have said nothing so far and that could be a sign that the process of appeal etc is not complete. Never ending sage of incompetence and ignorance. It also appears that our likely wonder signing from Rennes is described by those that know him as a spectacular 'flop'! Is there anything more SR can do to make us the laughing stock of professional football? |
 | News Comment | Southampton At Nottingham Forest The Verdict at 16:17:54
"the ridiculous euphoria and hype that followed the Play off final " Monksway I guess thats football fans everywhere Monksway but you make a good point. I wonder what Juric is thinking now? I mean he can hardly expect Lucy Pinder to come chasing after him, but surely he didn't realise that we were actually that bad. Now with Dibling out what chance of a goal from the next handful of matches ? Any January acquisitions are almost certain to be Championship class at best. Everybody else's throw aways! But on a positive note - you mean there is one? - well I can think of three! Lesley Ugo, Sulemana and Aribo have started to look like real players - and, bless him, Paul gets his first goal. Sorry That makes four positive notes sadly not four goals for Paul. Well rebuilding can actually be exciting too. Look at the achievements of Forest and especially Bournemouth. Where ther's Juric there is still hope. |
