No need to be peed off. You are infected and there is no real cure. It is the same infection that causes you to live with someone for life or why you have a furry thing that you have to take for walks or a fluffy thing that takes itself for walks. The symptoms are mild and they will come and go It will be a roller coaster ride and some days you will feel great and others, less so. As hard as you try, your ears will always pick up the football score referring to QPR and if they have won, as much as you tell yourself "it doesn't matter!" you will feel good and if they have lost, the opposite. So, it is not your fault and you cannot change and look at another team to save your emotions Some are infected others are immune. It is called love and despite what you say, your ability to love, care deeply and express emotion is THE most important thing about living on this planet!
I spoke to Marti, when he did his lap of honour 'goodbye to the fans' prior to 'gardening leave'. I said "please stay!" - his response was immediate, open, honest and heartfelt. Shaking my hand he said " I REALLY want to!" and his eye to eye contact and mouth grimace (displayed when we cannot have what we want) told a tale of a man who DOES want to be here! He could have ignored, shrugged, said 'we'll see' etc. but he didn't! Talking to others after the game they got the same vibe !
The name fits rather well. We carry him hobbling back and forth not pressing not tackling falling over and then he scores and we all acclaim him as our saviour. He isn't and that is apparent. No one is 'scared' by him. Yes he sometimes scores goals but often doesn't!
Could the following 'Orwellian future' with managerial job application occur at Loftus Road or has it already??

AI: Are you simply a Yes man? Please answer Yes or No
ANSWER: "Yes!"
AI: You have answered Yes. You have passed the Pre-App. We shall now ask you a few more questions.
AI: Are you the sort of person who will do what the CEO says: without question? without moving any negative facial muscle? without taking credit for anything good? being openly criticised for any wrong decision the CEO makes? and accepting that black is white? Please answer Yes or No
Answer: Yes - to all!
AI: Great ! Welcome to QPR.
Please sign your name on the form we have just printed and scan. (Please use a black ink pen)
AI: You appear to have used the wrong colour pen and have been unable to demonstrate understanding of the Club's requirements. We have told you black is white! If you cannot do what we and the CEO want we suggest that autocracy is not for you! Good day!
Meanwhile - in a Garden near Girona While QPR supporters across the country/world
Yes, of course Eze. Being an R's supporter I have watched his career development and progression and having him inside and Madueka outside we definitely pose a threat. Grealish did the same! But we are in awe of Carry Lame and he is not comparably talented with ball at foot as the three mentioned. Lame supporters will say he scores goals and is masterful in defence, and turn a blind eye to all that jogging backwards and forwards not pressing, not involved play. The argument that Carry Lame is good for England is the same as saying that arm bands are good for swimmers, yes you need them to keep you afloat but for a lot of the time they do not actually contribute to your development and by continued reliance you prevent your own development.
So reverse it, have Carry Lame there as a last resort and if we have a penalty, bring hm on, but have other players start that teams are not expecting and who, surprisingly, can run at the defence - as I say, down the centre and on the wings.
As long as we have Carry Lame as arm bands and don't develop new starting players we shall continue to sink and like arm bands that have gone beyond their useful life (and I don't mean the goal he sneaks in at the death) we too shall feel deflated!
But to many, Carry Lame is a god to be worshipped and applauded but actually he isn't and wee have more talented players that would pose a threat!
For me (and 51% of the time I talk 'round things') there were and are three issues:
(i) The constant passing back and forth across the field each side of the halfway line (ii) The lack of players having the ability to run at the defence -through the middle !! (iii) Sloppy ball control
(i) The first of these allows teams to either sit back and wait for (iii) then break. All teams know that its going to go to one side or the other and then a cross into Lame in the centre. Admittedly Lame is on the end of the ball when it eventually gets to him and Lame takes a good penalty but, for 85 minutes I always feel he does very very little and we shouldn't keep playing him hoping he will do something. (ii) Watching Spain, Portugal, Netherlands, Germany, Japan, South Korea, The Ascension Islands and the Pitcairn Islands teams they attack through the middle AND the wings rather than back and forth back and forth pass to wing, run down the wing and cross to Lame. Defences need to be put on the backfoot by variety in attack, sometimes wing, sometimes central run, sometimes cross - we put no opposition on the bnack foot! (iii) There is NO EXCUSE whatsoever for the sloppiness especially when the attack has no real threats. Yes Spain and Portugal had their sloppy moments yesterday but the attacks covered that. We are poor and will be as long as we keep aiming for Lame in the centre. (Another from my 51% contributions) (iii)
I've never seen Evita, I don't like Lloyd Webber but the lyrics that Sir Tim Rice penned for the song 'Oh What a Circus' are really apt for Kenneth Paal's departure. This won't be popular and you can hit as many dislikes as you wish but, for me, he did more harm than he did good! I have watched from the Loft time and time again how he allowed the opposition to get to the goal line and cross into our box and then seen the net bulge because he failed to tackle, block, stop the cross. I have watched teams time and again target our left flank and cut in. Even away games, where friends have attended and we have gone a goal or two down, I have simply asked (knowing the answer) was the ball crossed from the left goal line or did they get round Paal? He was great going forward, I have also said that time and again but in the balance of appreciation did he do more positive going forward than he did negative in defence? I wish him well but we could not afford to keep having him allow teams to get past him and so I am glad that he has gone - we need a defence and, I'm sorry, he was not very good in that role play!
Had we been relegated I would never watch it and I don’t set out to watch it but it IS a moment, not unlike Zamora’s goal and has the added bonus of knowing that THAT goal was like a dagger to all Man Utd fans who were waiting to celebrate! It has so much going for it and I place pulling the rug from under Man Utd ahead if beating Derby!!
Sadly, the names and voices to which you refer, which are on LPs , EPs and 78s will all be consigned to council recycling depots. My late mum has a number of such Greco, Laine, Torme, Sinatra, Bennett, Fitzgerald, Proby, Trenet, etc., all with songs and tunes that, sooner or later, no one will ever listen to again! As I say, sad! RIP Frank but, equally, lots of respect to Dean, his act and how he fooled all with his regular on stage glass of apple juice!
I have to say, in its defence, Mrs Brown's Boys helped me with my son's developement.
Normally children cannot walk much before the age of 1 or talk, much before the age of 2.
We had never seen it and happened to watch some and were amazed to see our 4 month old climb out of his cot, walk upright to get the remote control and switch it off, saying " Utter rubbish!" before going back to his cot!
Hi They say 'every cloud has a silver lining' I just wanted you to know I'm selling some of my mum's gardening books on Gumtree and wondered if they were of use to anyone?
🌻🌼🌷🥀🌺💐🌹
No...I'm not happy and really really wanted Marti to stay and as I have posted, I blame some of the inept players who have let Marti down.....but I DO still need to sell these books!
This, for me, sums up our last two seasons and I defy any sensible CEO to blame the manager for our playing like this. Watch how many goals go past Paal on our left and get crossed and scored! See how beneficial it is to have a fitness guy in Dubai. I just wish the gynacologists had been where they should have been....In the Boardroom, checking out the Board and the CEO!
As far as i can see this (and yes, it is in my acceptaqnce of my naivety) I maintain that you cannot make a silk purse out of a sow's ear and you should not blame the manager for the inadequacies of the players he has had to field.
Paal has been attrocious on the left and I would love to know the stats for goals conceded following a cutting in past Paal.
Our strikers have been non existent
Injuries have meant our trying to dress up players as having some quality and they haven't.
Our keeper doesn't claim the ball, our set piece plays either dont clear first man or can be over hit.
We cannot seem to go more than 5 games without a foul throw
Our players cannot seem to pass to each other
We are the worst team in the league for the players going to sleep at half time and conceding a goal between 45 and 60 minutes.
So, given a company where the staff are effectively 'temping' and looking forward to when they can get away...how does a manager suddenly get something out of them when we can all see the absolute lack of quality in a number of them!
Nourrey should have at least allowed Marti to get rid of the dross (as best he can), shured up the left flank once Paal has gone and arranged for the keeper coach to show Naardi how to come and claim a ball!
This is more about having Marti being dealt the equivalent of a a poker hand each week with 2-7s and no pairs and expecting him to win the pot!
A sad day at the end of a sad season after a desperate season !
