Last tour of NZ was 2017 & brought load of fans over & created great buzz wherever games played - main cities & some regional games as well. Went to Wellington test that we lost & good chats at pub crawl to ground as well as in the stands. Filthy weather & Sonny Bill sent off early for a league shoulder “tackle” but couldn’t get too pouty as too much joy in visiting fans. Think the lengthy gaps between tours maintains the enthusiasm from NZ perspective. |

Surprised to see a shout out for NZ’s finest Allpress - where did you find them? Have set standard for coffee vvankers in NZ and even picked them out in Melbourne laneways amongst all the other offerings so clearly ingrained. Allpress now pivoting into Olive Oil and set up in beautiful location on Waiheke Island - not sure if that’s made it to UK yet? |

Enjoyed his company at a bar here in Auckland - he was having great time & pretty much same as his character. 4-5 beers in his big mitts as everyone wanted to buy him a beer. Iconic show & character |

Even had Prime Minister at time chiming in. Remember being at Eden Park for next time we played them and at least one lawn bowl rolled onto field to greet them. Greg bloody Chappell got a 100 but thankfully we beat them |

Dave Grohl & rest of Foo Fighters on flight from LA to London. They were coming to play concert for Invictus Games. Was wondering whether to have a chat & thought feck it and launched in - think I scared him for a minute but thanked him for playing a benefit gig in NZ and chatted about their experience there. Very nice bloke - he did fly separately from rest of band though. Work trip so in posh seats and across from Taylor Hawkins - left him in peace. Lots of rugby & league players on flights down here but beneath my mate Dave in famous stakes |

Enjoy your summer - hope getting one as over next month to visit noir oldest - carefully avoiding the football season… |

Warriors winning couple of very tight games this season is good sign & disappointed if not comfy play offs with chance of top4. We still have ability to make mistakes no other team in comp makes and failed to turn up vs Storm as per usual. Really tight comp this year and injuries will play a part. Coaching is interesting one - Benji copping it at Tigers, at war with 19yo potential star but is he any worse than McGuire now at Broncos with very chequered record. Happy with Webster at Warriors- doesn’t get full of it when we win or too down when we have our occasional blow out loss. Up the Wahs! |

Bloody tough to tip this season for sure. Broncos lose to Warriors, lose their star fullback & then stick 34 first half pts on Bulldogs who are 6 straight wins for the year. Agree Storm look team to beat but they let in 40pts v Dolphins last week after smashing Warriors last up. Looks like the loss of stars over past couple of seasons finally catching up with Panthers. |

Don’t go back as far as some but at least 15yrs and lot of change. Online at very different time to UK & for a while had likes of Brooklyn, Japan, Canada, Sydney & the nocturnal BazWot for company on a slow NZ work day. Also met a few Kiwi fans and from a couple of Nasi Goreng lunches NZ QPR sprung up and over 200 folks strong now. Do need to bring that word association thread back…. |

You’ll have a great night - just checked and it was Dec 2015 last gig here - still smiling remembering it & worried then if Brian Johnson was going to stand up ok after crouching down to crank more volume out 😁 You won’t get the smile off your face |

Unique vision & with that comes a few misses but will always love him for the madness of Twin Peaks - coffee table review each week in my office at time - making things even more confusing. RIP |

Agree with Sydney - Cairns is gateway but head north - we liked Port Douglas - access to Barrier Reef but also Cape Tribulation rainforest if have couple of days. Prawns bought off back of boat one of nicest lunches ever |

Have to congratulate the detail given already - Peter Hucker even mentioning Real Groovy records & was in there yesterday spending too much on vinyl. NZ while small can have challenging roads so don’t underestimate travel times. Even as Aucklander you have to include QueenstownWanaka, New Plymouth is pretty place if can see Mountain but isolated. Far north of North Island is stunning & March/April is great time to visit. Wine regions if like that side of things - Central Otago near Queenstown, top of Sth Island & Hawkes Bay. While in Auckland do get ferry over to Waiheke - 40min trip & see harbour and island has beautiful beaches, more wineries & plenty of places to eat - Man O War is far end and beautiful spot if weather good - they have bus out there. Our local QPR group have had couple of visitors for one of our Sunday lunches & happy to help if any questions |

Thanks for another year Clive & even from other side of the world loved reading that & the bond of following our bloody team. 240 connected to NZ R’s down here now & shocked to have some poor youngsters join our regular pub reflections on latest shitshow. Can we hope for less stress in 2025… |

Merry Xmas from NZ & dawned sunny here on Waiheke Island. As a side note any tips on getting a 12yo dog post hip operation to take a bloody leak would be much appreciated. Silly old sod is refusing |
