I was thinking the same, perfect for 3 of the 4, but not good enough for the 1 that goes up. |

Like I said…if he wasn’t so poor, we wouldn’t have any reason to doubt you |

Totally agree… not sure if this is PR, a mate of CN who thinks he can help him or what, but there is no authenticity to any of what Charlie writes, but more to the point, what a sad reflection on CNs communication strategy. If he communicated to fans regularly, about the good stuff and the challenges, we wouldn’t need to suspect anyone. There are a number of examples of piss poor PR going on though, and linking back to one of my first posts on Nourry that he reminds me of someone in the Apprentice, nothing has changed for me on that, he’s an embarrassment to our club, and this is just another example for the pile of evidence |

Random question, anyone know if Marti included as an Intangible Asset on our last set of accounts? If so, for how much? It now looks like we'll not only lose the value of asset, but also flip it straight into our cost line, so effectively a double hit on the next set of accounts. I might be completely wrong with this though |

A total shambles, Nourry has clearly sold Ruben a story to get sign off on this gardening leave plan and within 24 hours its collapsed... Ruben may be light touch, but I'd be shocked if he's not hot footing into Nourry's office to either unleash or fire him, any sensible business owner would. This fiasco is also another example of how poor we are at extracting new revenue streams from an easy opportunity....instead we'll be paying him off, its unbelievably poor management. |

I like Marti but he was always going, but this approach appears so inept. My only hope is that a fee is already agreed with WBA, and he’s been sent away until they finalise the details. In reality though, Nourrys ego appears to be burning the house down, he’s an embarrassment. Narcissists don’t ever think they’re wrong, the only thing they don’t like is being disliked or shown up, so I hope he hears it this weekend, but ultimately he’s been put there by the owners, who are a shambles. |

Its interesting, could be a fairy-tale, but many of the clubs current issues (too many to list) could be explained by a pending take over. If there isn't one, its depressing to think we're as badly run as we thought. |

Ok, well it would be a new level of stupidity, even by our standards. |

There is no way we’ll sack him, he’s a valuable asset, they may be happy for him to leave for the right fee, but even if they don’t get on, you don’t sack a good manager under contract and incur a cost to pay him and his team off to go, we have no FFP head room as it is. |

With 5 starters and 3 subs out of contract/away in 2 weeks, who won’t want to get injured, in a dead rubber vs a squad of players who have been shackled by Parker all season, now playing with freedom following promotion, I expected us to get beaten by 3…but this is really poor [Post edited 26 Apr 14:09]

Similar to this, he's only a back up but it will provide a worrying indication of the clubs ambition if they keep him. I'm sure we'll find a better and younger alternative. |

Initially I was intrigued, given his age and his roll in the audit, but it only took some light scratching and a few weeks for the gloss to wear off. The initial dishonesty was a big problem for me and strongly suggested he knew he was out of his depth, as his actual experience wouldn't justify the appointment. Since then, we've had his bizarre communication strategy, denying access to the manager, even at a fans forum where he controlled the questions anyway. Clearly there are some positives around the progress on FFP, the youth team appear to have moved in the right way and some of the signings have worked out well. The measure of success for a CEO is much more than signings though, I want to hear what his long term plan is for the club in all areas, 1st team ambition for the next 3-5 years, how are we going to deliver it, youth development, model for signing players (data, managers recommendation, data and scouting), communication, commercial development with planned revenue streams to deal with FFP, the ground and club in the community. If he turned up to the next forum and said the manager won't be here this time as I want to share my plans, but he'll be here next time, that would be fine by me, but instead he takes vetted questions on fairly trivial topics. I hope he proves to be successful, it's a big summer, anything could happen, if we move in the direction, I'll happily say I'm wrong, but based on everything I've seen and heard from him, I have serious reservations, but lets see - he isn't going anywhere soon. |

I think we underestimate the importance of Cook and Field to this team, anyone know the stats of n points with/without the 2 of them? And when the 2 of them play together? May be wrong but think it would be telling. |

You're assuming MC doesn't want to get out at the first opportunity and a pay off isn't a great option for him. If I had a seat on the Board, I'd have some qualms about about those sat opposite me and their ability to do anything more than rinse and repeat. I agree with Mart, if the same issue keeps happening, whilst MC has to take fair share of responsibility, maybe the overriding issue is not the manager. |
 | Forum Reply | "By far the most challenging season of my career!” at 11:15 17 Mar 2025
Totally agree with this, years of underperformance suggests all non-playing staff need to be challenged to improve or go, I just can't see that Nourry has the experience or credibility to do that effectively. On MC its only a few soundbites, but I doubt it relates to a few losses to the top teams or that his dog has died, his contract was improved because that linked to his initial deal, and the restrictions put on access to him means these soundbites speak pretty loudly about the wider club management in my opinion. I rate him highly but sadly think he'll be gone in the summer. |

I went big and put £1 e/w on this yesterday and didn't think to check, just seen a bonus £30 in my account, cheers for sharing! |

The drop off since we appeared to have done enough to be safe is shocking...I'd love to know what bonuses the players have in their contracts, certain to be one for avoiding relegation, but perhaps there isn't one for making the play offs. |
