Very sad news indeed. Tough guy on the pitch but gentle and good fun off it. Doted on his kids and no doubt they’ll be broken hearted.
RIP Mark

Welsh region to be cut in bombshell development ...

East v West. Far too simplistic because it might actually work! Northern side resurrected maybe?

However can you imagine the howls of indignation from The Capitol. Yet another bankrupt club voicing their greatness as they fade into oblivion.

Neath v Swansea…..some memories there 😂

Welsh region to be cut in bombshell development ...
at 17:01 21 May 2025

The day rugby turned professional it became a business Low. Fans were told to buy into the formation of the regions….and many didn’t. The failure of the WRU has brought this to the fore. They have been amateurish and have brought our national game to its knees. The final straw was the total lack of integrity regarding funding. When blackmail hasn’t worked the threat of dissolution of a region has been used.
However….we’ll have a lovely Eco friendly stadium ready for the next Taylor Swift tour.

Ospreys signed some sort of agreement with London Welsh apparently….last April?
I wonder if this could be used as a possible backdoor entry to English Championship/Premiership?

Newport are now owned by private investors I think…plus Newport FC lease the ground? After being in WRU ownership until recently I’ve no doubt a deal has been cut for survival subsidy guarantees.

Cardiff….well not much more can be said there. Immune to any financial shenanigans currently being discussed.

Llanelli….in debt to Carmarthen Council I believe to the tune of a few million? Survival is precarious

Ospreys….will they now receive funding from Swansea Council for the move to St Helens? Business decisions need reviewing there. However, weren’t the Ospreys rumoured to be in discussions with an English RFC last year regarding a merger? Denied I think….but who knows.

I stand to be corrected with the above….but I don’t think professional rugby in Wales has much of a future now due to 10 years plus of WRU corporate slaughter of the national game. However we will soon have a lovely array of solar panels and upgrades to bring the National Stadium into a world class concert venue. Thanks Abbie.

That is a shame for both but time moves on I suppose.
Best of luck to both of them and thank you for your service.

Take your point there Boundy….but a few years back I was forced to go to a Kylie Minnogue concert. It turned out to be brilliant until I had to use the toilets. It was really uncomfortable standing next to some 7’ nutter in full dancing girl gear, stocking etc. so maybe Res has a point.

Swans still to have official talks with Sheehan
at 09:42 23 Apr 2025

The advantage Sheehan has over any other candidates is time served and delivering on average 2pts a game during his tenure. He has rescued our season when no other candidate would risk their reputation.
He has stated he wants to take the club forward and won’t settle for average. That’s the message I get from his interviews and that may well lead to him not being hired.

I really believe that the CEO should be made accountable and prosecuted. He’s quick enough to take a bonus for failure so with that must come accountability.
We’ve had measurable rainfall the last week or so……but more or less drought like conditions a month previous and we still had raw sewage discharge. Where has all the money been spent over the years?

He recovered well but yet again nearly blew it with a penalty after his pit stop. Yes he finished over 5 secs ahead but that’s not the point. He needs to maintain focus and stop being a child. Oscar has matured a lot since last year and I have to say currently he is the only driver capable of challenging Max, and after todays race Max realises that big time.

Interesting article….and I’d love him to stay as he’s been excellent for us. However he was a short term expensive fix who’s put himself in the shop window and I’ve no doubt teams with more financial clout than us will snap him up.

This country

We have to think long and hard about this. North Sea oil is being taxed to oblivion. The fields are getting older and more difficult to maintain. Has everyone forgotten how energy prices have rocketed since Russia invaded Ukraine? The price of steel will follow this trend once we get to the point of having to import virgin steel and not have the capability to produce our own.

Then we get to water. We are being poisoned by our own suppliers in the name of profit to shareholders. What’s the answer? Increase prices for what is apparently a human right if a charity comes knocking on your door for Water Aid funding.

The bottom line is whatever we want….whatever we are promised by politicians….we have no control what so ever in the outcome other than being asked to pay more and more for less. We really are descending as a country back to the days of serfdom.
