To be clear, Harlem is part of Manhattan. Appreciate not a heavily visited area beyond the Apollo.

And Quebec City - oldest settlement/city in North America. Beautiful old town and great food everywhere. While it's very cold in winter, it's beautiful with lots of outdoor winter activities to do. I'm going back this Feb.

I'd add Charleston in South Carolina (just not in summer - opposite to Chicago in winter, never been anywhere more hot and humid in my life and that was only mid June). It's a modern southern City/town with great food, music and bars.

Also Boston is a great place for both Sport and American history. You can also travel up the east coast of MA and ME and end up in Acadia national park if you want to extend the trip. Lovely spring/summer/autumn time but a bit brisk in winter...

Given he's not getting a game, can we not bring Ramsdale back in Jan? Surely he'd rather play in Championship than sit on the bench for a Newcastle team that currently looks more likely to be fighting to get out of the bottom half than qualifying for Europe.

From SR perspective, he wont be gaining any value on the bench...

When my eldest first started school in NY 10 years ago, I was introduced to "the other British dad" in the class. Took about 60 secs to work out we were saints and Pompey fans. He turned out to be a very nice guy - his dads from Portsmouth by he never lived in UK until Uni as his Dads job had them living all over the world. As such I think it's a sign of character he stuck with his dads team rather than opt out and support a glamor team instead.

He was even pleased for me when we won the playoff vs Leeds. I, however, could not be the bigger man and have any joy for any Pompey success.

Sad thing is it just shows how poor SR have been. They recruited him and Jones. They also took too long to realize they were out of their depth at PL level.

I'm bullish on Still but it's versus a very, very low bar

Post match should be fun. He likes to go with "players focused on self preservation" usually. Or we were unlucky and should have been braver with the ball.

Not sure why we're persisting with 3 at the back now stoke down to 10 men

Armstrong just needs to get off the mark today and he should score freely again this season. If we can get 10 - 15 games out of Stewart (big if) he'll chip in 8 plus too.

Our full backs aren't great at defending so maybe until bree is fit he thinks this is the best way to grind out a result. THB and Quarshie first touch was terrible constantly putting themselves under pressure - hopefully they can fix that in training.

Racist Liverpool fan abuses Semenyo
at 11:46 16 Aug 2025

If the FA/EPL really cared they'd dock Liverpool points - this would stop it pretty quickly. If the police/courts cared they'd make a massive example of this individual. The combination of points deductions and meaningful legal repercussions would make clubs ensure no away fans get into home ends (ie trying to get a rival team a points deduction - plus solve a sore point that has existed for years) and it would deter any morons from doing it.

Seems pretty simple but all comes down to whether they really care about it that much or not. More likely they (teams and EPL) are more worried they might not make as much money if they make it restrictive/come down on a top team with huge global following.

I think you're 100% spot on Semmens was in the proverbial "turkey voting for Xmas" spot. I think he was hoping to be kept on but probably knew he was punching well above his weight and would be cast aside. His salary was about GBP 1 mn, so every month he dragged it out he made another 83 grand.

Pompey Relegation Fight

At the risk of being absolutely eviscerated for suggesting it (and maybe 25 years out of the country has left me soft) but won't two games vs Pompey next year be something that will get the team and supporters reengaged after a miserable season this year?

It's amazing how we've got to this state. Appointing Jones, spending $40mn on Sulemana and Tall Paul was the start of a comedy of amateurish ownership errors. We'll sell dibbling and anyone else we can this Jan as they try and recoup what cash they can then I fear we'll be stripped and put up for sale. Well then have another charlatan wannabe ownership group try to apply their second tier MBAs and hubris into "outsmarting" everyone else. Don't see the fun times under Poch and Koeman ever returning...

ABK will be back in contention. Stephens clearly sucked up to RM and was the mole that ratted out anyone that spoke out against the philosophy of turning saints into man city through possession within the 18 yard box. Can't see him having a future with us now. He has made a fortune from being a mediocre football player, fair play to him for playing the (financial side of the) game so well.
