Depends on the team but at the moment I’d go 1-1

A very early match thread to prevent any naive usurpers from starting one: well done 👍

Think we have a chance of a result if we don’t return to the pre Charlton set up and tactics. I’ve predicted three out of four of our results exactly so far so I know what I’m talking about 😉

Just started watching Dexter: avoided it up until now as I’m not particularly keen on the sight of blood :)
Only up to season 2: it’s a very enjoyable watch but how on earth does he make it through 8+ seasons without getting caught?? He ain’t THAT careful and no-one can be THAT lucky surely?? 🤣

That was an excellent performance: fair play to Tuchel and the players.
Eze’s efforts on Saturday hasn’t done his future starting prospects any good I’m afraid though Gordon was poor tonight.

Walked past it loads of times when cutting through the building on matchdays but never been in.

How come highly skilled players play cr*p when they have an England shirt on !!!

The qualification games mean nothing.
It’s all about the World Cup and that’s what Tuchel should be judged on.

He’s played alright, getting stuck in at both ends of the pitch.
If Scotland hold out for a 0-0 away at Denmark then it’s a very good result and Dykes has played his part.

Just started watching American Primeval (Netflix): absolutely brutal depiction of the ‘Wild West’.
Little House on The Prairie it’s not!

In Advanced Talks With Edwards

The right decision as it looks like Southampton were holding out for big money as they had no financial need to sell him this window. If he doesn’t play much the rest of the year then we can strike a much better deal in January.

Does the loan market end today?
Surprised we haven’t got a number of the DS squad out for regular football.

Ainsworth v Holloway EFL2 promotion race thread

If Ainsworth gets the buy in from his players he does a bloody good job.
Think this is hard to do at larger clubs with more prima donna players though as he found with us.

Don’t think anyone is against the idea of signing Edwards apart from the money involved to do so.
Surely out of our budget based on how much they paid for him (£3m + add ons) + he’ll be on high wages (by our standards) + Southampton have no need to sell him financially.
And although he’s not starting every game he’s in every matchday squad and will get plenty of minutes with them this season.

What would Saito have to do to get more than a measly 6 from you?
Don’t think the lad put a foot wrong: changed the course of the game and was instrumental in us winning it. 8/9 all day long.

Great credit to Julien today: team selection and subs both worked out and the team’s attitude and application seemed a lot better. Let’s hope he can build on it.

Looks like Armstrong is available
at 17:49 27 Aug 2025

The basics ARE coachable: if he could learn to stay on his feet until actually fouled and practise shooting and crossing he’d would improve. The best he can offer at the moment is to come on as a late sub and run at tiring defenders but with no end product.

On the occasions he used his strength and physicality to get into a good position he would inevitably throw himself to the floor and whine for a foul: I bet he still does that when he plays for Bristol as he just hasn’t learnt or developed.

Nardi or Walsh for Charlton Game
at 23:32 26 Aug 2025

Agreed: both have their faults but Nardi showed enough last season to justify being our first choice.
There had been nothing anywhere suggesting any club is interested in buying Nardi so play him.

No keeper could complain at being replaced if he lets seven goals in. Would loan out Walsh for the season and have Salamon on the bench.
