Yes I am going down for all the games. Ticket process on the first day was a rip off because you had so little time to pick and book tickets, you had to keep paying a booking fee for each order ( instead of 1 big order) I spent about £70 on booking fees. Paid a decent price for most games, but there were only expensive tickets left for Adelaide when I got online. Sydney was difficult and I had to buy a top price ticket for day 2. Overall quite happy with the total price and seat choice ( other than the booking fee!!)

Gabba should be good as it is the day/night test for the first time in the Ashes. Overall I am expecting us to get a bit of a panning ( as usual) but looking forward to the overall experience

So they have fired him today before the first T-20 game, the correct decision in my opinion. Croft named as interim coach & hopefully he can spark a good performance in the T-20

If they have a poor T-20 then he might be gone before the end of the season. Otherwise I assume he will survive the season and they will review the last 2 years. He might need to do a " Ange Postecoglou " - always win something in his second year!!

Spot on with your comment on the spinner. Hartley is OK but he cannot generate as much turn as Parkinson could. I don't think he is an upgrade at all on the bowling although he gets more runs than Parkinson
With hindsight, our slow run rate in the first innings didn't help ( only 2 batting points even though we reached the 110 overs limit for points). We should have ensured they were in at least an hour before which could have made the difference.

Only 1 game now to the half way break and still no win. At least we were the team in the driving seat this game unlike most of the others.

whoa Jimmy Jimmy
Jimmy Jimmy Jimmy Jimmy Anderson

his 1st wicket was a beauty.

A painfully slow innings from Lancs, but if we can get through them today we should have a good chance of picking up a well needed win.

They have also confirmed their support for the coach and his staff. Possibly a case of head in the sand. 2 matches remaining to reach the half way stage and a long break. Need to win at least one of those.

The appointment of Benkenstein was an odd one from the start. He was appointed head coach for Gloucestershire from 2021 on a 3 year deal. when they were in the first division. They got relegated and struggled in division 2. When it seemed he may be fired, Lancs "poached" him from them. So it seems across the 2 teams we are approaching 4 years of failure. However although we are rock bottom there are hardly any points between 8th and the top 4.

In terms of major non-cricket events, they are not having any in 2025 so won't be able to use that as an excuse

What do people thing about the quarter & semi finals being 1 leg instead of home& away. I like it because it ensures there is some reward for finishing as high as you can. It also gives an underdog a better chance as the stronger teams are more likely to win over 2 games. Even though potentially we would be away to FG, I would fancy us to pull off a 1 game shock against them that win over 2.
In terms of the original question I am more worried about the Southend game than I would be against FG. As mentioned they may come and park the bus, and I would fear 1-0 result. Also we should get a good crowd which seems to be a market for poor performance too !!
York clear favourites overall but a Wembley final is 50/50.

Player contract v Play Off final date
at 11:49 1 May 2025

As he is a loan player, we would just need to ask his club for a 1 day extension. I can't see why they would refuse. If any of our own players have a contract that finishes on the 31st May we can offer them a 1 day extension too. Again no reason why they would refuse as it puts them on TV and in the shop window. I assume all players on the day will be on a bonus too.

Has anything been said about the exiles ticket. It is not currently available and I wondered if it has been scrapped.

TVOS Preview - Rochdale v AFC Fylde
at 10:57 22 Apr 2025

Fylde and Ebbsfleet have conceded 172 goals between them this year and yet we haven't scored against either of them at home, never mind win. Doesn't matter if they park the bus or not, they are clearly not good enough against any team (but us ) to keep goals out. Yet we can go to Alty a few days earlier and put in a good performance and have slammed in a good number of goals against other teams.
IWould love to see us somehow go up via the playoffs, but we are so inconsistent that I would fear for this team next year in league 2.

a very poor start to the season. Other than the first 2 days of the first game, we have hardly won a session in the opening 3 games. Odd decision not to bat first after winning the toss in the second game, however, other than that we have been totally outplayed. After last season it was surprising that the coach kept his job but he needs to get the team to step up soon otherwise he may be on his way out. Bowling in particular seems toothless and there have been very few good batting partnerships.

we should have a decent following for the game so should be a cracking atmosphere. Let's hope we can put in a performance to justify the support. Hoping for a win but a draw will not be the worst result in the world in what should be our toughest remaining game. Best way to get something in my opinion is attack but let's see what Jim does.
Fylde on Monday is a must win whatever the outcome today.

so how many points do we need and how do we get them?
at 06:46 11 Apr 2025

I think I posted somewhere that the 4 points lost against Ebbsfleet would come back to haunt us. They say there are no easy games but they were an exception. 2-0 up in the first game and drew. O-0 at home the second game against a team that have shipped in loads and have a GD of almost -60.

The away game is the only live game I have been to this season and they were genuinely like a pub team

at 11:26 10 Apr 2025

As other teams have only 5 games left I would estimate that 12 points would easily see us secure a place, and 10 could be enough for at least 7th. Due to the drop off in away form the 3 home games are crucial. Eastleigh and Fylde "should" be good opportunities with Hartlepool a bit tougher. If we don''t win all 3, we would need at least 3 points. Alty and Solihull won't be easy and is going to be tough if it comes down to Braintree away. Hopefully they won't have anything to play for

IMO I think we need to get 7 points at home and sneak an away win. To do that we cannot start by aiming not to lose. we need to go for wins in all 6 and hope for 3 wins + the odd draw. Recent form indicates we are not likely to do this.

Huge game Saturday

same for me. I only saw the first session and a bit and Middlesex were well on top. Pleasant surprise this morning to see the scores. Looking forward to the first session today where hopefully we will get their lead to under 100.
We should be one of the strong favourites to go up this year and Jennings & Bohannen should be able to fill their boots with runs. Some of the underachievers last year just need to step up and hopefully we will strike lucky with our overseas players too

I think it should be on Dale player. For £4.99 you can get a full month of games so that would be all except Braintree. You can then cancel it. I use it and the sound quality is decent.
