Anyone see the penalty Leeds got?
at 11:33 19 Aug 2025

With all the technology available, I don't know why football hasn't adopted outfits like they wear in Fencing. Have an electronic current going through the footballers' long-sleeve shirt sleeves, if the ball hits the arm/hand at a distance of say more than six inches from the testicular region, a flashing red alarm sounds and lo, a penalty is awarded.

Shouldn’t matter if they’re injured or not, they can still sign my autograph book.

A ten game-a-season striker would be a good start at this point.

cook extension official ✅

If Cook passed 60 matches in February and did "his part" of the bargain to earn a new deal, then the only way QPR could have subsequently avoided giving him a new contract would have been to purposely get relegated. Which even by QPR's standards is a bit of a stretch.

He carries the ball back to the centre-backs, is presumably what’s meant by that.

Mart, some of the stuff that you've heard and can't mention: do you reckon that's likely to come out sooner or later?

Kolli signs new deal!

I wonder if you could zoom in on the picture of him signing the contract and see what date he’s signed it.

If not, the only other course I can think of is that all future contracts need to be announced with a picture of the player holding his new contract alongside a copy of today’s newspaper.

Yes, it was a really good goal.

It reminded me of Harry Kane. Except more mobile.

Yeah, fair play to anyone sticking their neck out to go on a podcast. He wasn’t a natural, and I didn’t agree with most of his opinions, but sounds like he’s a good fan and entitled to his views as much as anyone else.

This is absolutely mind-blowing.

It's the sort of thing you'd expect to happen at QPR (naturally), but probably to a youth-teamer or reserve player.

For it to be QPR's best player, most-sellable asset....mad.

I have no idea how 'market value' of sponsorship is worked out. I imagine there must be rules around this, to stop owners essentially donating income to the clubs.

One thing that does occur to me around the value of Stoke's sponsorship vs ours: I suspect fans visiting their stadium are more likely to do online betting, than fans visiting Loftus Road are to invest in Mittal steel or put any money the way of whatever the hell it is that Matrade do.

It's all well and good us fans saying "Why didn't the owners do this sponsorship lark sooner, there's easy cash they could have been giving QPR every year?"

But what's in it for Matrade? Is this sponsorship really worth much to them?

Marti C on Joe H: “He can play as an ‘8’ or as a ‘10’. He can also play as a ‘6’ but his natural position is an attacking midfielder, and he has determination to improve himself as a player.”

Q. from me: what is the difference between an '8' and a '10'....(other than two).....and what does a '7' do?
