So Iām sure youāve opened this about to reply thereās already an existing thread but I felt this deserved a thread of its own Last night on the way home from school my 9 year old was walking with his Mum and his mates Mum and Dad through the park when his mates Dad asked if him if he had heard that Charlie Kelman was going to be at Goals that evening (Astro pitches for hire similar to the set up on South Africa road) My lad comes bounding in the door telling me heās gonna meet Charlie Kelman having had the explanation I asked was this definite what time etc , he had no idea. So I called Goals couldnāt get through and the whole thing sounded a bit of a wild goose chase Did him some dinner and then my Mrs took my eldest to her music lesson so after being pestered I said we could walk up (10 mins from our house) but I was going out to play football myself so we would have a quick look My lad grabbed his shirt he had signed last home game of the season by all the players and we headed up after a quick search of the pitches no sign so I said we would have to go, he was gutted but as we are on our way out Charlie Kelman came out of the door in front of us Now there arenāt many QPR shirts in Southend so when he saw my lad he said hello straight away, my boy asked for a pic and could he sign his shirt so Kelman dropped the kit he was holding and was more than happy to oblige. He then spent a good few minutes having a chat with him asking him who he played for what position etc He was an absolutely top lad and my boy has been buzzing ever since. Well played Charlie Kelman |

Would be Derry and Hill for me Season before we had Tosic for a bit and I thought he was excellent Remember first game of season being in the pub with a few mates and my brother saying who we thought might be ok etc Me: Derry and Hill, really both 30 odd and Tosic was excellent and we let him go Derry is nothing more than a pub player My Brother They are both dirty b@stards whoād kick their Granny to win and my god do we need that they will win you over in 5-10 games Who was right? |

Disagree Parejo was awful Was 18 in a foreign country playing in a mush mash squad that Bruatore and Paladini had flung together You could see the kid had something about him but he was often so ahead of the other players in terms of passing the runs didnāt come and it looked like it was a terrible ball He was in no way a bad player |

Birch was / is šÆ Rangers He was on our books as a kid and essentially left to go to Millwall as the pathway looked to be blocked a bit (Quashie) Went to Millwall then came back interesting bit on Undr the Cosh interview he did the midfield 3 when he was a teenager was him Quashie and Rio Ferdinand His performance against Swindon last home game of the season the year we went up under Holloway is one of the best individual performances Iāve seen in an Rs shirt he was everywhere that day. Absolute gigantic efffort |

Iāve seen this along with some idiot on one of the QPR Facebook groups proclaiming Paul Smyth is one of the worst players to play for us Iām nailing my colours to I like Paul Smyth Is he the best player Iāve ever seen at Loftus Road , no not by a long way. He does however play with guts, spirit and a desire to do well, should he score more goals, probably, is he final ball at bit disappointing, it can be. But he would run through brick walls for the club and I for one appreciate that when I think back to others who have rinsed the club and couldnāt care less When I approached the club for a birthday message for my lad Smyth did it and sent a great message which made a 9 year olds birthday his mate who is the other QPR fan out of 500 odd kids at school was extremely jealous! Also on a non football angle the fella is pretty funny He was at the kids fanzone yesterday signing autographs etc. They did a Q&A with him and one question was āWhatās your career highlight ā his response was āThe right hander on Fridayā š He then said he was joking in case anyone wants to get offended Paul Smyth -Top man [Post edited 22 Apr 13:07]

I think him being at Barnet and us not picking him up can be excused to a point as he only played maybe a handful of games but his time at Peterborough should definitely not have gone unnoticed He had 4 years there with a season in The Championship was playing Junior England levels and I think even Captained them at times and pretty sure was in team of the year for League one Maybe we did inquire who knows £3 mill was a bargain for Southampton |

Letās be honest nobody would have guessed that line up I get we have many injuries but Christ on a bike I like Marti but that line up but that has the look of when he was sat at his desk writing it he had a glass of Cyanide to the left and a revolver to the right Gonna be a long night I fear |

As much as I hate them (and believe me I do) the problem are the rules Sales of such things should have to be passed through the Premier League or an independent body the rules are what is causing this. Forest and also Stoke plus many others have done this sort of thing and will do until it is stamped out Donāt hate the player hate the game |

Football has changed massively but the principles remain the same Take Rangers late 80ās for example look at the players we bought in Ferdinand young very green from Hayes but worth a punt Sinton was about 23/4 when he joined done well lower down the leagues Wilkins, amazing career but to many was washed up stayed for 5/6 seasons and was superb Sansom short term was here two years similar to Wilkins was washed up but was great Parker good young player nicked off local rival in lower divisions All contributed and either gave good service or were moved on I could pick pretty much any Rangers side over that 30 year period and give other examples. Yeah sure there were some duff signings but on the whole the recruitment and ethos got us to London top side in the 1st premier league and not far off Europe , FA Cup Quarter Finals etc Weāve been in foreign ownership for best part of 20 years, football is a rich manās / Country / State game now but the principles apply Look at Bournemouth. Kerkez the left back arguably one of the best in the Prem picked up for not huge money has many admirers, Kluivert Semenyo etc The other clubs I mention have similar examples Bournemouth right now are QPR of 35 years ago why wouldnāt we want to be the new Bournemouth |
 | Forum Thread | Ellersille Road Question at 17:37 31 Mar 2025
Looking to go to the Swansea game on Easter Monday Some mates are going in The Loft End and a couple are in ER After the match can you get round to the Loft End from Ellersille Road without leaving the ground, years ago I seem to remember you could but I havenāt been in ER for a while Any help appreciated Cheers |

šÆ agree If / when we get promoted we should be looking to emulate clubs like Brentford, Fulham, Palace, Bournemouth , Brighton , Forest etc. They all took the blue print of QPR 1967- 1996. Buy young hungry players, turn a profit on some and then rinse repeat. Cup runs, European football regularly mixing it with the big boys and if a few bad seasons happen stick with it. Appoint good managers etc The recent Prem years werenāt the best but their were some great moments beating Chelsea 1-0, the 5 wins on the bounce at home to stay up including Liverpool Arsenal and Spurs Thatās the QPR I fell in Love with and thatās the QPR I want us to be again |
