And if this world runs out of lovers – Preview
at 09:09 23 Aug 2025

Great preview Clive, thanks. You are spot on with your analysis of the feeling in the support base at the moment. I’m one of them.
My lad and I have recently done Coventry away and we aren’t going today…there is just no point as we are going to lose 3-1…and we’ll be lucky to get one.

My main point of this post however, is that other than the players there is nobody above them that I like or even slightly warm to. Therefore I’m just constantly irritated by them all.

Nourry has done some great things, and is so right in his thoughts and long term plans…but he is a highly unpleasant, conceited, arrogant, overly executive, corporate ‘leader’. His press release about Steve Cook’s contract extension was a disgrace. If I was his boss he’d be in a disciplinary over that!

The other two at the fans forum were so cock sure and condescending.

The manager doesn’t say anything of any interest at all. I’ve listened to various interviews with him and I just zone out. His team for the league cup was truly shocking. The club should have refunded everyone who went.

Every team or organisation needs a leader to inspire and follow. For all of the plans being correct and some of the recruitment being pretty good, I fear for the next few months because of everything listed above.

I just don’t like the people…so my usual optimist support is severely dented.

On Open All Rs I once got the moniker’Phil the Optimist’ - it’s interesting that even with some good recruitment I feel the least optimistic than I have for ages.

What is it with us and injuries at the moment. It’s truly shocking.
Ben Williams banging on about us being average at the recent Fans Forum just doesn’t pass the smell test.

Preston make their point as QPR run out of puff – Report
at 17:33 11 Aug 2025

Thanks for the report Clive. I completely agree on everything. Certainly a missed opportunity - let’s hope those two missed points don’t come home to haunt us in April/May?!

You are being too charitable with the ref and the red card. I sit in row A of P upper, so it was right in front of me. The ref had one card in his shorts pocket, the other in his shirt. He put his hand to one pocket, changed his mind and went to the other one. Took out the red card, but couldn’t show it whilst the 6 was rolling around looking for an Oscar. Whilst he waited he changed his mind and swapped cards. Utter rubbish. The tackle was knee high and completely out of control.

Also agree with you about Celar - I just can’t see him ever coming good at the moment. The style we play we aren’t just looking for someone to tap in chances from the six yard line. He looks lethargic and soft.

I thought Burrell was great when he came on. I have far more belief in him coming good than Celar.

Singing from the same hymn sheet – Fans Forum
at 20:27 30 Jul 2025

I applied to go to this fans forum but didn’t get a space unfortunately. I watched most of it on YouTube and I’m obviously really grateful for this write-up Clive.

I’m really torn about what I heard. So much of what CN said made sense and I really like what they are trying to do. The age of the Dev squad and getting first team minutes for younger players is superb, but that is as long as we are remaining a Championship team whilst doing that.

My biggest concern is the control we’ve given to CN, who is in his first job. It was so obvious watching last night, why the relationship with Marti broke down. CN is very clearly a control freak. I was really very worried about the lack of respect shown to JS, and the tiny amount of time he was allowed to speak. If I’d been in his position it would have sent up some very serious warning signals to me. He dealt with it with humour…but I really do hope he knew what he was getting himself into or this could go badly wrong very very quickly.

If I’d been there, the question I was going to ask was how much each Sky game nets us in additional revenue once the lower ticket sales and concession sales are taken into account? I’d love to know that actual figure, because again the fixture list is being torn to pieces already. The number of Saturday 3pm games this side of Christmas is already tiny.

Having been supporting since 1974, and having time at Loftus Rd as a key part of my non-work life, I just hope that the cash from Sky is large enough to offset how disenfranchised the long suffering fan feels.

MC Officially gone
at 19:05 24 Jun 2025

The first link in the chain…so now a barrage of announcements to follow thank god.

I’m so sad to see him go. People wanted Warburton out, and what a mistake that was. They were the ‘good old days’. I hope we don’t look back at this crazy decision and wonder why on earth this was allowed to happen.

Rangers read the room, finish on a high at Sunderland - Report
at 06:49 6 May 2025

Great report as usual, thanks Clive

Also thanks for absolutely every word you’ve written this season - I think I’ve read every one of them. You may not realise it, but you are one of the highlights of supporting Rangers!

I won’t be in the crown for a few months now - but when we’re back I’ll buy you a Peroni! On that subject thank god they haven’t ruined that place with the refurb…it’s actually quite good. But they went for the QPR school of shite decision making and did it during the season and not June, when it must take 75% less! Still, roll on next season.

Have a great summer.

Brilliant Clive. Thanks.

Do you know (via the media team at the club) if anyone in the exec team ever read your stuff?
I wish they did as it would be far more beneficial than some cryptic throwaway line from an owner.

Read this and question your actions folks.

By the way the CEO roll is yours if it was open to a vote?!!

What about Ronnie Ed in midfield?!
at 10:24 15 Mar 2025

With Varane and Field out, what about three in midfield with Ronnie Edwards, Morgan and Colback?
Then Morrison in the back four
Dembele and Saito out wide and hopefully Frey up top.

What I don’t understand, which maybe someone can explain to me, is the ticket sales?
How can it be sold out this morning when we haven’t won this month, are going to lose by three or four, and it’s live on tele?!
I thought it was just idiots like me who turn up to these injury ravaged thrashings?

Window Dunne and dusted, where to from here? Preview
at 15:02 4 Feb 2025

My other worry with Dunne, is whether a fee was agreed, but he was told he could only leave once a replacement had been found…and whilst that was going on SU went elsewhere. There is a chance that Jimmy is seriously hacked off with the club. If so that isn’t going to be good for the second half of the season.

Uncharted territory for homecoming R’s versus unpredictable Owls – Preview

I couldn’t agree more. Wonderful.
I’d go as far as saying it is joyous at the moment…sorry if that sounds soft?!

It’s almost like the longer we’ve been made to wait for any sort of real quality, the more we appreciate it. In my opinion this current team and manager are so much more enjoyable to watch and support than the promotion side of 2014 (obviously excluding that amazing day at Wembley!)

He not young. He was born in Nov 2001. That makes him 23 doesn’t it?
That is peak age for a pro footballer.

He is not a kid.

He is no good, send him back. Lose games for someone not us.

Please let’s call a spade a spade. He was worse than woeful.
Marti is quite rightly brutal when he needs to be. See Kakay, Dozzel, Dykes etc. He will never play for us again. He was shocking.
He personally gave away three goals.
1. Tried to beat his man one-on-one when he was the last line of defence. Lost it. They ran through and scored
2. Saito didn’t stop or bring down his man, but then passed him on to Ashby. He was flat footed and lost him. They scored.
3. Then he gives away a stupid pen. Vardy scored.
You can’t defend that performance.
He isn’t young. West Ham let him go. Newcastle loaned him out. Both clubs can see he won’t make the grade.
Send him back and get some decent right back cover.

Three and easy night – Report
at 22:16 7 Jan 2025

What a brilliant night …and a cracking report to match. Thanks Clive.

Isn’t it interesting how things develop throughout a season. You can’t win football games unless you win, or are very competitive in midfield. Early season we had Field and that was about it. Now Varane has really caught up with the pace and physicality of the Championship and Marti has pulled another master stroke by spotting Morgan in the Dev squad and giving him his chance.

Those three together make us competitive against almost anyone.

It looks like we won’t be battling relegation quite the way we thought…and it is another week until a league game, so I really hope he picks all three against Leicester.

Just like Joolsyp, I’ve also ruptured my Achilles this year. It is very painful and takes at least a year to recover from.

As soon as he went down I said that is what he’d done. It’s the kind of thing that just snaps as you sprint. What I don’t understand is that it is one of the simplest injuries to diagnose. You simply lay the person down and then squeeze the calf. The foot moves if the Achilles is attached and doesn’t if it has ruptured. Our physios would have known within a few minutes of getting him back into the changing room.

If he has an Achilles rupture I doubt he’ll play for us again….or possibly ever. He wouldn’t be fit to play until Feb ‘26 at the earliest. I know from personal experience.

We have to hope that the odd comms about it means that it is something else. Fingers crossed.

He posted a Tweet after the game but he’s also radio silent now…so I fear the worst.
