We seem to be trying to copy Brighton's strategy (albeit we are many years behind them.) Tony Bloom appears to be stacking young goalkeepers at Brighton and then loaning the better of the developing ones out to Championship/L1 sides. Looking at their squads they have 4 GK listed for the 1st team squad, 4 with the U21s and 3 in the U18s along with 3 others out on loan at Hull, Birmingham and Sturm Graz.
Back in 1998 when Paraguay played in the World Cup, I put £1 on Francisco Arce being 1st goalscorer in each of their group games. I was disappointed when the commentators pronounced his name as AR-CHEY.
More classic AI Nourryspeak - "“His arrival is the latest recompense for our staff who have so enthusiastically embraced the changes in pathway philosophy that is now seeing some of the brightest Category One prospects highly value interest from QPR."
Apologies if this is already well known but I didn't know any of this stuff before.
I have just done a bit of an internet search on this and have found out that:
Yes - third party ownership is banned by UEFA. Yes - Lommel is one of the 13 football clubs owned and controlled by CFG.
Apparently Belgium has one of the lowest qualification ratings for getting a work permit for a non-EU player, so perhaps that is why Saito ended up at Lommel?
There is a suggestion that some(most?) players signing for a CFG team aspire to end up at Manchester City eventually and, perhaps, that is why they re-sign when their contract expires.
It won't be anywhere near £70 (though that is the maximum figure being quoted.) The predicted amount is around £45 if 5 per cent of eligible claimants apply. If more apply ( and why wouldn't they) then the payout will be smaller.
Salomon spent a good few minutes of the warm-up practising long kicks out to the wing. He seems to be completely left footed. I think he has a lot of potential and agree that a L2 loan would be good for him.
Yes, I thought Putman was excellent tonight. Brentford's main plan seemed to be to hoof it up their left towards the big no7 but Putman didn't give him any joy , certainly in the 1st half.
Although you can name 5 players over 21, only 2 of those can have made 40 or more appearances for the 1st team (starter or sub) so I guess that rules out most of the Brentford big guns.
