If he went and we had a chunk of cash to spend in the January window then I suspect we could survive. As stated before I thought the idea of having a DoF was that these things don't effect the team as much and the succession planning would kick in and we'd have some candidates lined up to replace him. As it stands we're essentially saying we're better off losing money rather than losing a manager mid-season which suggests they're not confident that they could manage that transition. I think LBlock has nailed it with clown show tbh. |

They've extended his contract, they've added a paragraph about holiday entitlement. |

Yeah, it doesn't make a lot of sense. Even if you were focusing on one demographic of fan, you could and should also keep other fans happy, they're not mutually exclusive. You could have someone at the ground every day filming content for tiktok to keep the younger fans happy and then also provide news via the website for "legacy to" fans. The implication that because they're always going to turn up you can treat them like dirt is horrible and perplexing that someone claiming to be part of that group would accept it. At the end of the day, if a group is going to have the power to make his position untenable, it's the "legacy" fans who actually turn up and could easily protest. So perhaps their strategy should treat them with more respect. |

This is what I was thinking. Previous CEO's have been criticised for late kit launches across the summer and rightly apologising and acknowledged it shouldn't happen. Previous DOF's have been criticised for lack of experience despite a clear connection to the club and experience as a coach. But criticising Nourry a 27 year old recruitment consultant for these things is the straw that broke the back |

I think we should be clear though that the development squad is different from the academy, it's essentially the old reserves squad. It's a shame the academy isn't filling that up and we have to look externally to get players with potential in. So I agree with CN having a bit of a shake up of the academy and getting in players with potential. The second bit we've always done with players like Kelman, Chair, Eze, Bright, Dieng, Walsh etc all brought in at that age/level, I'm pretty sure even Willock started out in the reserves after he signed initially. So it's odd how it's seen as revolutionary now when it was something we did under LF as well to good effect. |

I'd suggest that there is a difference between a good academy and buying 18 year olds to fill out the development squad. I'd also remind you that for the first 3 years LF was DoF we were trying to cut our wage bill heavily year on year, so not an easy task or comparable to the situation CN has inherited. As for the academy, we have Kolli and Sutton coming through to the first team which is good compared to previous years but could still do with improvement. The ones we signed in the last year are the product of someone else's academy. |

I'm not so sure it ends there for me. How do you trust or respect the job someone is doing when they've shown such a catastrophic lack of judgement in letting this happen in the first place? Saying they've fixed something after 9 - 12 months of it being a problem and clearly not in the best interest of the club, isn't really good enough and below the standard I'd want for people running our club. |

I thought that the DoF arrangement was supposed to offer that continuity so that the head coach leaving wasn't a massive issue, are you saying our DoF isn't up to it or are you worried about our CEO's ability for continuity planning? |

It's not been fair since the refs have stopped giving them ferrgie time or dodgy penalties for players like Young diving. Maguire spent most of the second half on the floor and got nothing the poor baby. |

I think the attitude of the squad in the Home game was poor considering how little football they tried to play despite having greater resources than us. Also the way he dealt with the retrospective red card as if they were the victims. Doesn't fill me with much hope but that's just a small sample of him as a manager so hopefully Aston _hoops friend is correct if he does end up being the manager. |

Strictly speaking the Car Giant site is also within H&F albeit not in W12. Since Old Oak Common changed the plan to make that area not suitable for housing development I wonder if a mutually beneficial agreement could be reached with car giant. Whilst we've annoyed them previously they are a business so may be willing to listen to a good offer from our new representatives. |

It would be a poor option as they won't get much for the stadium due to the wording of the local plan requiring equivalent open space within the borough. So it would be a massive risk for the developers as it could be over half the site as open space, so that would be reflected in the price of the site. |

Found the history of the relationship with H&F interesting. They published the local plan in 2018 including Loftus Road in the White City West development area with the following explanation. 5.37 The Queens Park Rangers (QPR) football ground at Loftus Road is a cramped site with limited opportunity for expansion, and the Club’s ambitions should be considered in planning of this area over the next 20 years. The football stadium is a valued community asset for the White City community and the pitch is designated as openspace. Therefore any redevelopment of this site would need to re-provide a sport/community/leisure facility that could achieve substantial benefits for the community as well as open space, on-site or within the borough, in accordance with the other policies within the Local Plan. So it does feel like on paper at least their stance for the last 7 years has been to keep QPR in the borough and that we can only develop Loftus Road for housing if a new ground is located in H&F. But there hasn't appeared to be any further consideration or suggestions for how we proceed from this point. Hopefully CN can help circle the club into conversations and get something moving. |

I appreciate this is being pedantic but the statement said league appearances, his overall appearances included 2 league cup games which is why I think it was triggered by playing him in the Coventry game and would explain why Gallen said Feb rather than Dec. Looking at the teams for the games end of January early February, I don't think dropping him was an option as we were short of fit centre backs, especially when you had Dunne at RB with no decent cover and I think Edwards moving into CM on occasions to cover there as well. |
 | Forum Reply | cook extension official ✅ at 16:10 14 May 2025
Other people will have a better recollection than me, I'm sure, but he came back against Millwall with 64mins (league game 58), played the full 90 in the win over Blackburn (league game 59), played the full 90 in the loss to Coventry (league game 60) then 84 mins in the 4-0 over Derby (league game 61) and I'm guessing would have played the full 90 if we weren't coasting. Looking at the bench it looks like there were limited options with Fox and Edwards being relied upon and Ashby used to cover as well. So I wonder whether it was a case of playing him because we didn't have much else. In which case it's another cost of our poor injury record this season. Anyway, it's been done to death, best we can hope for is a good recovery and a fit Cook next season. |
 | Forum Reply | cook extension official ✅ at 22:25 13 May 2025
Yes the club could have agreed to stop playing him after 59 league games if our head coach and director of football were in agreement that it was for the best of the club. That would have been risky with relegation still a possibility and before his current injury making him less appealing for next season. |

Sounds unprofessional and unfair on the player involved, possibly effecting his morale. Our CEO should be doing what's best for the club not trying to score points for himself. |
 | Forum Reply | cook extension official ✅ at 12:49 13 May 2025
Contractually do we extend at his Y2 rate or as an average of the Y1 and Y2 salary? Hopefully the latter and we still have a small reduction in wage bill. Generally I think it's poor form to make it clear that Cook has triggered the clause. I'm sure if it had been Dunne extending due to a contract clause the reporting would have been much more triumphant in tone rather than the begrudging tone they've taken. Not fair on Cook who's been a good role model at the club. |
 | Forum Reply | Nourry on new H&F board at 11:37 11 May 2025
True, I'd still be willing to give CN some credit if he gets it done though. These things aren't easy but as you say presumably a lot of groundwork to get to this point but he'll be on this H&F board so liaising directly to get it pushed forward. I still think the best thing he could do, right now, is appoint a DoF to concentrate on the on-field stuff. As CEO he could still insist on the direction of travel with the data for signings or give a structure for the academy that he wants the DoF to follow. He'd be appointing the guy, so could make sure they align on all that stuff anyway. I'd also give the DoF the opportunity to review Marti's position but I doubt either party would want that. I think that's where he's really going wrong, it's going to be hard to turn public opinion while he's the guy who blew most of our budget on Celar and Madsen. You'd hope Hoo's would be in his ear giving him some perspective. |
