Arthur Albiston signed for Man U. a year after Matt Busby left, but he overlaps with players who were there under Busby.
Alex Stepney didn't leave until '78 having joined in 1966, so was there with Arthur for six years.
Matt Busby became manager in 1945, straight after WW2 and his squad included players signed pre-war.
Bert Whalley played for Man U before and after the war, then joined Matt Busby's coaching staff (sadly dying at Munich). Bert signed for Man United on the 7th May 1934.
I can't see anyone earlier than that who played post-war, so that does appear to be the earliest date that there were no Man U players who played for either Sir Matt or Sir Alex. |

I've just had a quick look at the FA website and I believe that if one team uses a "Concussion" substitute, the other team gets an extra general substitute. |

What about Steve Morrow. Lightweight and injury prone for us, but bettered at Arsenal by managing to be injured in the League Cup Final, celebrating a goal. |

Most recent: Birmingham 2-2 29/2/20
I rarely do away games. I went to a pre-season friendly at Brentford, late nineties, we had an Italian on trial, who got carried off on a stretcher and I think we lost, 2-1 maybe?
First League match, would also be Brentford 0-0. 24/11/2001
Most recent: Plymouth 0-2 24/4/2004 (promotion season) which isn’t exactly recent. [Post edited 29 Apr 2020 22:50]

Alan Brazil and Sammy Lee, both bought when they were past their best.
You could probably make a nightmare team of just players we got from Man United (several already mentioned): John Curtis, Rio Ferdinand, Ji-Sung Park, Federico Macheda, Fabio. (I'm sure I'm missing some). |
