Good idea, I’ve seen this operated by other supporters’ bars, albeit unofficial ones (i.e. The Brazen Head pub for Celtic fans). |

I kind of see why they haven’t opted to go somewhere near the ground; it would risk harming some of the supporters pubs in the area, or even losing trade to them. Also, for business outside of match days, the city centre is perhaps a better option than the Landore area. I’m a bit excited by it and I will definitely give it a go when it opens. My concern for it, with the club and this Football Taverns company owning and running it, is that it may be a bit “polished” and not what makes traditional supporters’ bars good; a couple of the club’s logos on the walls, £6-7 for a pint of Madri, Harvester style food menu and prices and I could see it not doing well. It’ll have to offer something unique to the supporters to do well / survive, as I don’t see run of the mill drinkers / party goers on Wind Street going in there vs more generic bars that do drink offers and have dance floors. Also, I’ve lost count of the number of bars / restaurants that have opened and closed on Little Wind Street / Salubrious Place over recent years; are they too out of the way and or the rent too much to survive? It’ll have to appeal to supporters to visit there everyday. I assume the club has access to decades of its own archive video content, which it could show on screens throughout the day everyday, possibly old memorabilia it could put on display etc.; I think those things would make it successful. |
 | Forum Reply | Pembrokeshire fans bus, this time without lager louts at 01:25 12 Feb 2022
This wasn’t the case at the Oxford FA cup tie 15/16 season; all made it to the ground and home as I recall, however the driver was to appear in court (not sure how that went), but it seemed the Pembrokeshire fans away trips dried up after that day. I would imagine there is very little interest in away games among Pembrokeshire fans these days, as probably was the case after that Oxford game, as that was around the start of the going getting tough for us to paraphrase Billy Ocean. Perhaps one day the glory days of trips to Anfield and Old Trafford will return, and so will the Pembrokeshire Jacks away days….. |

I know this was also an issue previously, but I think a valid MOT would be a secondary matter to the primary issue of lager louts; 1 person (driver) suffers when there’s an invalid MOT, the whole bus suffers when lager lout scrotes who would kick the heads in of anyone who challenge them on their behaviour get the bus turned around by police. Those Everton and Blackburn trips, we were so fortuitous. I was hoping for sips of tea from my flask, my cheeseboard and crackers and listening to radio 4 through my headphones whilst enjoying the Mid Wales and Lancashire scenery, however them lot drinking part way through the journey soon put pay to that, they were warned not to bring alcohol on the bus at the start!!!! Selfish!!! |

I wonder if any fellow Pembrokeshire fans would be interested in starting a bus for away trips again. I recall ones running in the our first prem season to all away games, however the Blackburn game had some lager louts at the back with crates of beer that could have had us turned away and I recall commotion on here as a result. Obviously this time, buses without those unsavoury characters and behaviour would be the order of the day.

100%. Stoke just lucky, we would have put 5 on them on another day, just one of those nights. Ryan Bennett’s red was an absolute joke, top 4 premier league team quality centre half, constantly getting poor decisions against him. |
