Ricky Ponting electing to field in the second Ashes test at Edgebaston in 2005 has got to be up there. He obviously thought the England batsmen would be demoralised after losing at Lords in the first test. England racked up over 400 on day 1. Without Ponting’s error of judgement, we’d have probably lost the Ashes that glorious summer. |

I always buy them, but then I give them away to locals when I go on holiday. There’s new QPR fans in the Maldives, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic etc etc……. It’s cost a small fortune over the years. |

Can’t believe nobody has mentioned the great Dave Thomas. I was only 10 when he left for Everton. I was on holiday in Ireland, and I was absolutely gutted. Edit: Clive Wilson, quite rightly so, getting a few mentions. As a pair, him and David Bardsley were the best pair of full backs we’ve had in my time. They were very very good. I went to St Francis of Assisi infants, which was a mixed school, then the junior school which was just boys. Secondary school was Cardinal Manning in St Charles Square. |

I liked Paul Smyth when he was initially with us. He ended up at Leyton Orient, and he flourished there. So much so that we signed him again. He’s been very good for us in his second spell thus far. Charlie Kelman is our player, and he’s flourishing at Leyton Orient. We don’t have to sign him back as he’s ours. I think we should give him a chance next season. This current loan to LO could be the making of him. |

My cousin is a Tottenham fan, and he said that every home game, the club shop sell 1100 Tottenham replica shirts with ‘SON’ on the back. He said that’s why they won’t sell him. Levy loves him. 😂😂 |

If somebody would’ve told me 15 years ago that QPR would win a final at Wembley, but the manager would be forever despised by the fans, I would never have believed them. The man is a fúcking charlatan. [Post edited 31 Jan 20:38]

I was dead in line with this in the South Africa Road Stand. I remember all the Barnsley fans applauding it too. 👏👏👏 |
 | Forum Thread | Ronnie Edwards. at 11:32 22 Jan 2025
A mate at work is a Barnet season ticket holder, and he sent me a message last night after we’d beaten Hull. He said Ronnie Edwards is a fantastic player, and he’s a massive signing for us, albeit on loan. He’d been with Barnet from the age of 7 until he joined Peterborough when he was 16. My mate also said that the Barnet chairman did a deal with Barry Fry where Ronnie Edwards moved to Peterborough for nothing, but Barnet receive 50% of any sell-ons. They’ve already received £1.5m from the sale to Southampton. As far as I gather, Peterborough have a percentage of any future transfer from a Southampton, and Barnet have 50% of Peterborough’s whack. |

With the upturn in fortunes since November, coupled with our own promising youngsters showing such promise, I’m actually very upbeat at the moment. I can see good times ahead. 👍 |

Very very sad to hear about this. I didn’t know Andrew, but it is a crumb of comfort to his family and friends that his last conscious thoughts were happy ones. Rest in Eternal Peace, Andrew. ❤️❤️ |
