Can funds be transferred from a British based company to a Russian one?

We had Gotsmanov and Cherdnik (excuse the spelling) on our books about 30 years ago.

Both had decent pedigree but neither shone when playing.

If this fella does come hope he fits in and becomes an integral part of the team

Good man - poor leader vs bad man - allegedly good leader
at 17:09 30 Jul 2025

In my humble opinion Starmer is an OK leader compared to the likes of Boris and Truss.
I believe he had to get rid of the hard left Labourites who followed Corbin and helped the rise of the Tories.
I also believe he has had to toady up to Trump to ensure the UK is treated 'reasonably' to dilute the Orange Man's tariff wars.
I think he has done well in trying to repair relationships with European neighbours and attempting to put pressure on Netanyahu to dial down on the carnage in Gaza.
Take your point on the Human Rights issue but being in that position is similar, I guess, to being a Defence Lawyer.
On the reverse side Rachel Reeves policies affecting most businesses has not helped the economy.

Measles and vaccination
at 14:49 22 Jul 2025

Jelly,
Saint 901 has asked you a question about your statement on eugenics.
I am fortunate to have quite a few medical practitioners within my family group who have wide ranging experience in providing medical care and have had to undergo a considerable amount of training in general and later more specific parts of the profession.
I am sure they would agree that no one can be absolutely certain that drugs, procedures, vaccines or advice are suitable for everyone. After all we are complicated entities.
With regard to autism and adhd there are a variety of views on this. One of these relates to more focus being placed on diagnosis.
Same with anxiety. Up until fairly recently anyone who went to see a Doctor with anxiety or depression were told to 'pull yourself together'.
Fortunately the medical profession now has much more understanding of the symptoms of the condition and appropriate assistance that can be provided.
More cancer diagnoses is surely due primarily to the vast improvement in medical techniques.
Not so long ago, I had a relative who had a stomach ache and the only real way to establish what was wrong was to have an 'exploratory' operation'. Nowadays MRI scans, more precise blood tests etc etc would have been the order of the day and her condition may have been treatable.
Re Heart Disease. When the NHS was set up in 1948, the common consent was that the population was in general good health as they had to put up with a restricted diet during the war years and the consumption of alcohol and cigarettes was also restricted.
When the world economy picked up and our diets moved onto to a high fat/sugar basis culminating in the vast number of overweight people, it is no wonder heart attacks are more prevalent. The only good thing here is that many people can survive the first or even a second heart attack with modern treatment which then makes them prone to death from a further attack.
There is some suggestion that Sportsmen (in particular) are experiencing heart related conditions due to the intensity of their training regimes which are infinitely more intense than the days when footballers were generally less fit.
And, of course, how many health related conditions are linked to the increasing consumption of soft and hard drugs?
Many conspiracy theorists point the finger at Big Pharma but seem to overlook the thousands of people who produce, transfer and sell such products of uncertain quality to an increasingly expanding market.

I am sad to say I know someone who is a card carrying conspiracy theorist (no not Jellybaby) but is extremely well covered in tattoos and by his own admission spends quite a bit of his cash on class A drugs.
In addition girlfriend seems to have a very close relationship with botox.
Both of them reckon qualified medical practitioners are out to get them.
However this is not a modern trait and has been this way for hundreds of years despite the massive steps in medical science.

Saints shirt in Pompey
at 23:05 29 Jun 2025

I remember being down near Port Solent Tesco several years ago when a bloke in a red and white striped shirt was accosted by an overweight woman in tow with a skinny runt of a bloke who came running up to support her in her shouts of 'Scummer'.
The fellow in the shirt took one step forward and laid out the skinny bloke and threatened to do the same to the lardy woman.
Since then I have had a grudging respect for Sunderland fans

What is middle class nowadays?
at 19:05 24 Jun 2025

Like Ron 11, I grew up on a Council Estate and our family made our way without a car, phone, proper heating, a 14" rented TV, days out on the Common or Sports Centre and my Mum with no fridge or washing machine or other of today's household basics..
We were no different to others on our Estate and I guess we would be classed as Working Class but my mother did all she could to try to make us move to the next level.
Always well turned out and respectful to others.
None of our family relied on benefits and you cut your cloth to the amount of money coming into the house.
I got a paper round to pay for my trips to The Dell and occasional away games.
A 10/- note (50p!!) for a birthday or Christmas gift was looked upon as a decent present.
When I bought my first house (for £9k), the interest rate was 17%, so I worked two nights a week (hated it) and also a Saturday (not a bad option but meant that I missed football) to pay the mortgage.
My kids wouldnt do that nor would many others in todays world.
I am now fortunate to earn a six figure sum but believe I still retain the principles instilled in me by my upbringing and I am sure many people my age share the same disciplined life.
I dont live the high life, generally holiday at home and will buy a 12/24 month old car to replace my 10 year old (well maintained) car as I want to help my kids in such a difficult and challenging world.
It used to be the difference between working and middle class is that the later wore a tie.
Not so nowadays.
I just wish people were more respectful and not to expect so much from life.
Problem is the expectation level is now kicked on to an unsustainable level.

Just a thought about Bazunu.
Burnley bought James Trafford from Man City after he had been on loan with Accrington and
Bolton.
I think he is about the same age as Baz.
Trafford struggled at Burnley in the Prem but has shone this year in the Championship so much so that he is interesting bigger clubs.
So in some respects there are similarities.
The only advantage that Trafford has is that he is 3-4" taller than Baz.
Goalkeepers improve with age and hopefully Baz will too.

really good article from inews about the club
at 22:50 10 Apr 2025

I agree that Sports Republic have done some good things off the pitch and their continued support of the Saints Foundation is a real positive.
The owners have also made a decent amount of money available for transfers
However the fact of life is that apart from Ramsdale and Fernandes the signings over the past couple of seasons have been pretty disastrous.
I have been a supporter for many, many years and experienced a number of relegations and pretty average teams playing at The Dell and SMS.
Never in all my years have I witnessed my team being totally outclassed on such a regular basis as has happened this season.

I am with you there.

For around £3 a week I think it is really good value.

All the other stations I look at have extremely boring advert breaks.

People will have their own view as to whether their news programmes are biased but as there seems to be complaints from both sides of the political spectrum, I reckon they have the balance right.

Problem is, going forward, the BBC doesnt seem to appeal to young whippersnappers who prefer other (darker??) mediums.

Also the BBC dramas and documentaries, which cost a lot to produce, dont have the funding available to them compared to the likes of Netflix.
