Another point that was made elsewhere on here was that the first couple of months’ fixtures are somewhat less challenging than it could have been.
Obviously if it goes wrong and we start poorly then we’ll be up against it when the supposed tougher opponents come along soon after.
But if we’re sitting on an average 1.75/2 points per game come mid October then that’s something we’ve not had for a long time and can hopefully build on. |

You’ve hit the nail on the head there with ‘progression’.
There’s definitely been progression, not just in these last few weeks but we’ve tried to get our house in order starting a few years back with the new training facilities.
We’ve fallen behind and stagnated but it’s feels as though there’s an actual long term vision of how we build our club up again. Can we keep improving all aspects of the club, bit by bit, increasing by a few percent each measurable time and sticking with that over the long term. |

I appreciate there's loads more still to come during the summer, players being sold perhaps, more signings, possible Eze money, the pre-season friendlies and the rest. It's just the whole sort of vibe around the club, at least from what I can see from the outside, seems to be more structured, planned and bit more long term.

When I say optimistic, I mean I don’t think we’ll be in a relegation battle this season. Not thinking promotion or anything like that. Just winning a decent amount of games at home and not constantly thinking we’re f*cked. |

I know it’s very early days in this transfer window and I was going to post this a few days back, but, I think I’m feeling more confident and optimistic now than this time last year.
Last summer the narrative was what could Marti and this team do with a full preseason etc, and the general feeling around the place was positive.
Things seem to be making sense now and with the new management team in place, decent, forward thinking signings, retained players etc, there does seem something brewing here.
I guess it’s the well worn phrase ‘it’s the hope that kills you’ kicking in, especially after 2 San Miguel, but for the first time in a long time I’m really looking forward to this season. |

Ditra heat is what I use for all my bathroom UFH. Really good German make, comes in various options and sizes and is designed for tiled floor as it’s combined ufh and decoupling membrane, so no cracked tiles etc.
Comes with a spare thermostat as part of install so extra peace of kind if original one fails, just hook up 2nd one and no need to rip everything up. |

There was a point about midway through the first half where we’d tried playing out and had the ball nicked off us by about the fourth pass for what must have been the fifth time in a row.
Swansea then straight on the attack.
It wasn’t so much the speed of the press (which was very good), but the lack of urgency in passing the ball quickly. Even though it was 2 touch, those 2 touches seemed to be a second behind how quickly the Swansea’s players made them. Fox being particularly guilty of this for most of the game.
There has to be a point during the game where the coaching staff look at what’s going on and say, ok let’s go long for the keeper a few times.
There was also several occasions in the second half where we had a free kick on about the halfway line and rather than try to play a longish ball into the penalty area it went sideways and within 2/3 passes was back with Nardi.
A very frustrating watch irrespective of the circumstances. |
