Do we really need THB
at 09:14 19 Aug 2025

Whether we need him or not we're stuck with him because no one is signing him.

He was interviewed by Adam Blackmore recently and said this is the first proper preseason he's had for a couple of years. He looks fit, full of running and could play a huge part in our season.

Maybe look at the stats plus the fact that we were denied two stonewall penalties. How many saves did Bazunu make? - just the one that I can remember.

40 points was always recognised to be the target for safety although it's probably a fair bit lower these days. After last season a target approaching 40 points in the Premier League seems like a totally unattainable target for us, it's 10 wins and 10 draws. The fact that achieving those numbers seems impossible shows how far this club has fallen under the ownership of SR. They continue to operate as a buy and sell for profit organisation which is a race to the bottom as they are clearly demonstrating. Until their ambitions change this downward spiral will carry on.

Well it possibly indicates that talks are being held but doesn't necessarily imply a deal is imminent.

Maybe it's his demeanour but the lad always comes across as being sulky.

Squad for Spain trip looks like a bit of a cull
at 16:49 21 Jul 2025

Not much of the promised cull there to be honest. All fairly predictable and the refuse continues to be carted around rather than dumped. Hard to read much into the names on the travelling squad and most omissions are due to injuries. Not the startling revelation we were led to expect. Still, at least Fernandes has travelled.

Bazunu's stats are very poor in every season he's played bar maybe his spell at Portsmouth. Time we moved him on unless he is happy being our 3rd choice which is the most he should expect.

Is Former Star Worth A Punt For Southampton On A Free
at 16:03 16 Jul 2025

Agree on Brownhill but the word is that several Prem clubs are keen on him and he'll likely join one of them. If we could somehow get him it would be a major coup but think it's a very long shot.

Signing AOC on big wages would be a huge backward step for me. It's a good while since he could be considered anywhere near his best, he's too old and carrying too many scars from bad injuries. Steer well clear of this one as we can spend our money more wisely.

Captain Jack signs new 3 year deal

Even Russboy isn't that daft. We are such a soft touch. He should have been shoved through the exit not rewarded with a 3 year contract. Bonkers.

Is promotion this season possible?
at 18:54 7 Jul 2025

We have Fernandes, Ramsdale, Harwood Bellis and Dibling who will either stay or we'll get good money for. If they stay we have a great squad for this level. If any of them leave we have good money for replacements and it's down to the recruitment guys to make sure we get in decent players for the managers style. We are in a strong position and should be in the mix come the end of the season or something will have gone radically wrong - always a possibility where SR are concerned.

My guess is that Dragan is in talks with a possible new joint investor.

Still seems nervous to me
at 08:46 2 Jul 2025

This isn't his first gig. He's already handled players of a similar status to those at Southampton. It is more likely that, like a lot of us, he takes a little time to build up relationships when embarking on a new job. I prefer this to someone who comes in all guns blazing and shouting his mouth off. Give him a bit of time.

Martin Becomes Rangers Manager

But he continues to maintain that he will never change so surely the football will be a continuation of pass it around at the back with zero purpose, go forward at walking pace, turn back, recycle, rinse and repeat.

This puzzles me as well. It's not as though they have suddenly transformed. If anything the shitshow seems to have got worse since his arrival. Not suggesting it's all down to him but I'd be interested to hear what his contribution has been. He still strikes me as another one who talks a very good game but achieves very little.

Seeing as we will not be playing suicide football involving passing out from the back I'd be amazed if Bazunu starts as first choice. His only attribute is that he is reasonable with the ball at his feet. I'm sure Will Still is going to be selecting a shot stopper which counts Baz out.

Rotten to the Core
at 19:53 4 Jan 2025

This club is now rotten to the core and in a dire situation. A complete reset is needed but that will only come with new owners because SR have shown from day one how utterly clueless they are. Every decision they make is a wrong one. How they have ruined our club in such a short space of time and the worry is it will only get worse. The decision to sell to them was simply catastrophic. They have drained the lifeblood from the club, the team and the supporters. Scandalous bunch of charlatans.
