Gonna tip a few over the edge here “It was a really positive chat,” he said. “They showed me the project and it was really exciting.” |

Ok So suggesting people were bedwetting is OTT and I admit that, but lets be fair, every time we lose a cup game this forum goes into meltdown. We are NOT going to win this cup so why not try something different. I watched all 90 minutes of the game last night, and of the 6 senior players who started I would say maybe only 2 marginally impressed me to any degree. I wont go into who as that's for somewhere else on this forum. I always want to see our club win a game no matter who is playing as well. If the head coach had come out and said how disappointed he was etc etc, how do you think that would impact on the youngsters? Who said he is picking players to 'keep the CEO happy'? Perhaps THE COACH believes that's the best way to blood youngsters and expose them to senior football. In truth I don't have much time for our CEO but as I see it you are just heaping the blame on him without the proof that he pushed for the selection or maybe you do. But here is my big issue. The manager has managed just 2 games. What happened to giving a manager time? It will only end badly for him if people like yourself are not going to give him time. We have also seen in the past, a manager try to show the board that we do not have the strength in depth and perhaps that was part of his plan last night. Do I think that it was fair on the fans? Absolutely not, but when can he have them play in a senior game. The one thing I do believe is that the bench should have been a mixture of youth and senior players. I was really p**sed when MC left if I am honest, but this manager has to be given time before we pass judgement - Did he help himself last night, probably not but some of the reactions on this forum this morning have been very extreme. P.S - Its not the moral high ground its a difference of opinion. |

It was suggested last night that the bedwetters would have a field day - Whoever said that was not wrong reading through this forum this morning |

I've only got two people on ignore on this forum and I agree, its pure bliss. In fact I had to log out of mine to see the match thread last night How a thread about 3 potential signings can become political is beyond me |

Always used to meet at the Adelaide as you could have a smoke outside in the undercover bit, had some great memories there. The Ram (remember him) walking along with a bin over his head, used to meet Bazwot (another blast from the past on this forum) and getting so drunk in there the day we got promoted despite losing to Leeds Apart from their amazing scotch eggs in The Adelaide, the best thing was the kebab shop on the opposite corner. They did doner kebabs in Naan Bread and they were the best kebabs ever. |

Sorry Chef, my bad I would say the selectors Surrey choices did indeed backfire. I disagree though re the first innings. Had our bowling been tighter across the 2 innings we would have won. Lets take that Tongue over for example. Without that over we would have won. But yes very true, if's, buts and maybe's |

For the 2nd time in a few weeks I have to apologise to you (After previously mocking your hat ) I said your post had aged well but in truth today and at times yesterday we didnt have that patience I had never heard of Siraj prior to this series but he clearly is Mr Cricket and so passionate. Nas said the right thing, we have to keep working on other countries and encourage them to seee that test cricket is NOT dying |

You are correct Thame - Crawley averages 44 against Australia because he knows the pitches, and did a lot of winters being coached there. He also plays better against the faster ball. Think to suggest he rides off Ducketts coat tails (I know you didn't) is disrespectful and the two work well together. But in truth I am done trying to defend Crawley, lets see how he gets on over the winter. |

I hear ya mate as I know you're a Surrey supporter - But honestly an allrounder with 2 wickets and 9 runs from the bat (and the most expensive bowler in the match) just doesnt cut it Atkinson on the other hand is class and did his best. He should have been in the middle prior to Overton too. But in this game Bethells stupidity was probably what cost us this match. Gutted we didnt win, but as many have already said, India deserved something and I am sure we have celebrated a draw of a series as much as the Indians are now. |

So I had time to reflect on the way home from work and here is where I am at: Smith will stay there with an overnight chat with Stokes/Root. Overton, If honest I have no faith. I do not believe there is not a better allrounder in the county game that could play but anyway, he's there and it is what it is - let me be proven wrong However, here is the big point. That new ball will be nice and shiny and hard (ooo err) and will fly to the boundary - 9 boundaries and game over. Keep our 4 wickets intact until the new ball and we will win I have raved on about Smith all series. Time for him to get us over the line with Atkinson as back up |
